TIP: When try to emulate rock veins, use feathers. It lends a ton of depth, and allows you to get either the ribbon effect or the more jagged/fractured look, depending on how you use them.
Being the daughter of a hardware store owner, I would like to make a suggestion. Always stand up while spraying. If you are sitting, you breath in more of the fumes. Which you won't do if you are standing up. Also, if you are standing up, you can spray with your arm fully extended and, again, not breath in as much of the fumes, which you cannot do while you are sitting. Also, if you are standing, you can step away any time you want to get a breath of fresh air. Otherwise, keep up the good work.
Well I am not related to anyone who works in a hardware store but I have worked with many mediums over the years as an artist and as far as acrylic sprays go the only advice I can think of is..RESPIRATOR!! Standing, sitting especially inside makes absolutely no difference,it’s all toxic to your liver and lungs, so saying stand up so it’s not as bad is irresponsible.
I've custom painted motorcycles and many other things for over 30 years and I've used similar techniques to get all kinds of different effects with paint. I've done several that look like acid was splashed on the parts and ate through multiple layers of paint. It's awesome to work with stuff like this.
Sweet! That is basically what I am doing in many of my vids: showing new people the old techniques, so it is new and mind-blowing to them. Let me know if you think of any more techniques I could try out and make a video on👍

This is incredible! I'm so glad the algorithm worked for me to see this! I love experimental works, even when they don't turn out. It's a learning experience. This gave me an idea for a small table I'm putting together. So super excited now! Thank you!
Your video was so refreshing to watch and made me laugh on such a dright winter's day. I agree, the hardest part is knowing when to stop and let the artwork do its own thing. That is a stunning table and whoever buys it can be proud to own such an original artwork. I have subscribed as I need to laugh more, and as a mixed media 'artist' myself, it is a joy to learn. Thank You.
Love this!!! It looks like my in-laws granite bar top. We always call it the moon bar in the basement. I would love to see river table made. I’ve been wanting to do that with an old table we have just haven’t gotten the nerve yet. 😂 THANK YOU! You always make it fun and easy to understand. 😊
I know now what I want to do with a table I've been looking at refinishing! How did you choose to seal this? Did I miss that detail? And have you done this kind of thing without the epoxy but still on a table surface? Love the video and excited to learn more!
It was refreshing to watch you create as you do! I had to laugh because some of your phrases I use too! Nice to see a creator doing what he loves having fun fun doing it too! 💯
You Tube suggested your channel this morning, used the plastic wrap trick on an old metal pot. I’ve used plastic bags before but loved your method. Wish YT allowed to share pics.
I do this effect with stainless tumblers for a rustic metal effect, works perfect with a vintage teal color and copper metallic spray paint. I spritz the copper then immediately hit it with 91% alcohol
Try Dawn dish soap with water in a spray bottle light mist, if you haven't already . You'll probably like it too 😀 . Love how you're just winging it. Love to hear you talk it all out and the "who cares" lol
Hello and thank you very much for posting your video(s). I find them very helpful. I am hoping you could help me with a couple of questions. I have a smaller antique safe that was my grandfathers. The paint is badly worn off. I will be sanding the entire safe and I plan on repainting it and adding a bit of art. I have NEVER used an airbrush! I would appreciate any suggestions for the following: 1) what BLACK colored paint product to spray the entire safe with once it is sanded to bare steel? 2) what paint product to use in my air sprayer? 3) what paint product to spray over the entire safe, in order to give it a clear coat as protection for the black paint and the artwork? Thank you very much in advance, it is appreciated!
Here is how I like to paint starting from bare steel: th-cam.com/video/INFWjzwXNBg/w-d-xo.html Then you base coat, I usually like using Rustoleum 2x matte (black or white). And after artwork, I would have my buddy spray automotive clear coat on it for ultimate protection and durability.
Love it!! You can also add some different colored mica’s to your alcohol spray. It makes a cool effect too!! I’ve used a white pearl mica alcohol spray over marbled epoxy and it came out super cool!! Thank you for the video!!
I love experiments!! Here's one for you to try (if you haven't already) Mix you up some resin, any color but lots of super sparkly glitter looks fantastic in this technique. You can even use more than one color of resin cuz you're gonna let that dry completely. Then the next day take your cured resin piece outside and place it on a tarp or piece of plastic, or just put it on the ground if you want. Spray your pieces with Dawn powerwash (not too much) or just take some regular dish soap and drizzle it onto the resin pieces. THEN, grab your spray paint in a complimentary or contrasting color and spray it onto the resin pieces with the dish soap. You want to do this part fairly quickly. As soon as you spray it with spray paint, immediately pour a bucket of water over it or use the hose and rinse it off. Wherever the dish soap is, the paint won't stick and it creates some fantastic patterns. If you use the power wash you'll get a more speckled look and if you just drizzle regular dish soap you'll get some nice random irregular line patterns. Then your resin colors (and glitter) will show through the open spaces.
Just found you! This was the 1st time I laughed, had fun and actually learned something really amazing! I've had a learning disability my entire life so it's hard to retain information. Make it fun, make me laugh and I am tuned-in! I subscribed! TY
