i just knew it as welll 😭 i thought it was meant to be like that since redd is shady seller so that he needs to hide. now i decided to restart eventho my past island already 4 start and have many things. i mean i be disliking the layout, fruits and villagers. So the only things hold me back was my bells but whatever 🤣
I loved restarting my island. My second go around, a little wiser to how the game works and thing like res services is a fixed location, river mouths ect. If I know of anyone who's thinking of restarting or simply starting for the first time, I'll be directing them to this video 💛

One thing I've read is that if you want to create a symmetrical island, the double south river mouths work really well for that.
I can confirm this is true. I have two south river mouths and my island is almost perfectly symmetrical

This is quite informative. When I first played ACNH I didn't know island layouts could vary so I went with what I had the first time I ever played the game last year. Now that I basically lost my island data and have to start from scratch , I'm gonna choose more carefully since I now have a better idea what to expect.

When i first got the game i didnt pick wisely and it cost me later when i started terraforming and choosing a theme with my island. I gifted my Switch to my little cousin who couldn’t afford one so i bought an oled model. This video definitely will help me tonight when i choose the layout ❤️
I'm resetting primarily to get rid of my dual southern river mouthes. I don't like just cutting them off like you do, while that looks great I like my own islands to look as natural as possible, so I've REALLY been struggling with the lack of space because of the rivers. I'm also hoping to have my resident services be a bit further away from my airport, but that's not as big of a deal as the river mouthes were.
Other things I'd like to have but aren't necessary are a long dock, like I have now, and rockpools! My island didn't have a single rockpool, and I think they look really cute :)
unpopular opinion but i really like the double south river mouths the best, idk why it just gives me good vibes haha
I'm far into my island and I did not know you didnt have to pick from the 4 island they gave you, now in trying to find some ideas for my island cuz it looks odd but I gotta work with what I get

I can't imagine starting over but this is my first time ever playing the game. When I found out you could restart and get another set of islands I was disappointed that I didn't know, but upon thinking about it I would have just overthought the layout. The one I have is perfect. I want all my homes to be on the hills (cliffs) over looking the town. I'll have to do a little bit of terraforming to fit them all but I'll have so much space for other things once I do.
But how can I restart

I restarted my island once, and then my next island I hated, so I started again and I’ve been playing that island ever since, I’d give anything to get my first island back but oh well

I restarted my island and forgot about those lol but I’m happy with my map I have peaches as my native fruit, my mom gave me cherries, my airport is green and one of my starters is phoebe

When I get my 2nd switch I will be able to create a 2nd island. For me I want a Green Airport, My Native Fruit must be Cherries, and I want an island Map where the Resident Services is way far away from the Airport, but not in the middle of the island, so that way I have more space to work with. Can already tell its going to be so difficult to pick the perfect map because its RNG

I reset today and saved nothing 😩 but I wasn’t happy with my old island but I had some nice furniture because of the dlc and cute villagers but I’ll try using treasure islands and ambiio cards I have a drawn out plan so let’s hope it all falls into place
I have 2 little beaches and one big long one. I didn’t do any major terraforming on my island. I got rid of all of my ponds. I call the secret beach reds spot. I put a warp pipe on it

i have my secret beach not blocked my cliffs as well! i didn’t want to waste two inclines if i wanted to make it accessible, and i wanted to keep most of my cliffs
I really care for the rivers because I’m not that good at terraforming. I want a double south river and that’s like the only thing I would restart for to get the perfect map layout.
But I would also restart if I would get oranges or pears as my native fruits😭✌🏻

I'm just starting the game for the first time and I didn't know the fruit would change depending on your map! So I'm guessing I'll have to choose a map and then see what my native fruit is and decide from there whether to restart? Thank you!

@@user-yd8nt7mf8n Nope! Just choose the one you like the most and is the most aesthetic one for you. After a while you can collect other fruits too.
Tbh my og map looked so perfect it originally looked like a snail and on the upper side it had a bone like water fall and the inside the snail it had a heart shaped pond

I want this map cause I dislike terraforming, and I really want the secret beach and a peninsula to make a nice little seaside home for my villager. But the closest I got is everything the exact same but the peninsula is like on the opposite side of the island! It's been two days of resetting. I'm so tired lol

How long did it take you to reset for that specific island with an unblocked beach? I've only seen that map layout once in about... 40 resets since yesterday and the beach was blocked off.
I somehow got it on the first try 😳😳😳 but I was prepared to reset for hours lol

I picked this island format.
I chose the worst one possible and now I’m paying for it when terraforming 😭🤚 I legit chose one because the mini island was nice... now it’s gone and I’m struggling to do an entrance. I also chose the worst river mouths...

This isn’t map related, but I’ve been considering time travel but don’t know all the pros/cons. Could you do a video on that?
I time travel a lot, pros: things happen faster, you can progress without waiting irl
Cons: if you have turnips they will rot if you go back in time
Can be pros or cons: an open plot will get taken by a villager if you go forward in time, weeds pop up, campsite could have a new villager in it
Thats all i can think of, TT is not for everyone though, but I do it personally to get resources, play at different times of year or day, have plots be auto filled, get mailed items without wait, etc

@@notmechloe9447 you have to go to your switch’s system settings, then go to data management, scroll down to delete save data and select animal crossings save data
@@notmechloe9447 and if you’re just wondering how to reset for a map at the start just close out of the map selection menu if you don’t see the one you want, and repeat until you find it

Someone told me it's possible for the residents service to line up with the airport and I kid you not, I've been resetting my game for HOURS upon HOURS! It's driving me INSANE that the residents service isn't centered but I'm giving up and now I'm here looking for a different map :)

**( this comment comes after 2 hours of trying to get the map I really want) . . . . . as usual nintendo makes it so DIFFICULT to get what we want.. why not just let us choose from all the maps from the very beginning? why only 4? have a screen come up saying WEST OUTLET SOUTH OUTLET EAST OUTLET . you choose one from there, then you choose a map from which outlet you want.. BAM done .. no restarting, no stress... they make things more difficult than they need to be. They need FANS of this game to be the creators because its obvious nintendo doesn't think about things that are helpful to the game. There is no reason why they couldn't have let us choose a map out of all of them and not just 4. They must be related to APPLE where they have full control of you LOL ok I am off my soap box now!

Nice and informative video! I still don't understand what is considered a "far" resident service, though. People talk about "spaces", but I don't know what they mean. Do they mean in game spaces or a map space? To be honest, once you have terraforming unlocked, any map is a good map, you can work around obstacles and come up with creative solutions :) But I understand why restarting your island was important for the no-terraforming challenge
When you dig a hole, that’s one space. If you look at your map, each square is 16 by 16 spaces
