I’ve never had success in the past simmering seitan but your idea of frying the seitan before putting it in the water is interesting. I’m always up for another vegan burger or seitan recipe so I’ll be trying this soon. Thanks for the video it was great!
Holy vegan cow! I see so many recipes call for blending up tofu to put into seitan and get discouraged because i dont have a blender. This is the first time i have seen someone use TVP! This is amazing! I cant wait to try this! Thank you so much!
Just made these today here in Oxfordshire UK. They are very good indeed. The texture is exactly right. For me, the beefy flavour is slightly on the mild side so I will experiment on ways to strengthen it a little. Perhaps using a yeast extract? Thank you for an excellent recipe that gives a fine result Regards Vic.
Made this tonight and my husband and I both enjoyed them. They are still not firm enough but held together well and had good flavor. Would adding additional chickpea flour make them firmer? Will make again. Thanks for the recipe!
You certainly could. It would have a different texture though. We did make lentil burgers too: th-cam.com/video/HX1R8sDLdxc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=WcgoCU_sbV6ze2pL
@@PlantBasedBistro for me, the beans blended with onions, carrots and oats rice does not produce a chewy enough texture and it seems to be missing wheat gluten so looking forward to trying it!
I haven't seen a tvp lingering taste. Most mention that for vital wheat gluten. These burgers just taste good to me. These don't have the vital wheat gluten taste either.
How did they firm up in the simmering process ? Or did they end up mushy ? I keep experiencing the issue of mushy texture even when using binder like flour etc even tried methyl cellulose curious if you have any insight on that
I've been adding dehydrated garlic and onion chunks and chopped walnuts to my TVP burgers. Gives a great mouth-feel.
They are very versatile.
I love this new format! Excellent video and the recipe looks great!
Thank you! We worked really hard to improve the videos... still some ways to go, but getting there.

I have found steaming to work really well too.

Perfect! I've been thinking about this combination, and now I know how to. Thanks
Happy to help.
@@PlantBasedBistro Today I made them, and wow. Thanks again for this 😊

Yeast extract might help. Maybe use black vinegar too.
Marmite in Uk and maybe some mushroom seasoning.
Fantastic! Thank you!!! About to be living with two omni teenagers and this is exactly what I'm looking for.
Hope you like it!

More methyl cellulose can make them firmer. I have found different brands work differently.
To be healthier, could you add the wheat gluten to beans/veg blended together instead of using TVP

They firm up nicely. The texture is really similar to an animal products based burger when done.
