I imagine you say Hi I'm Jill & I cook the best whole food plant based food ever! 🥰
Yummy recipe as Always! Can't wait for the new cookbook.

I didn't have Oat flour so I ground old fashioned oatmeal in my blender to a flour.
I didn't have Psyllium so I ground hulled hemp seed hearts in my coffee grinder
I didn't have salsa so I chopped 1/3 of a small tomato and a few mild jalapeno's from a jar and threw in blender
    They tasted Great!
This is the first recipe I tried from your channel. Look forward to making more. Thank you.

I am close to tears as I write this...
Thank you Jill for the 28 day course! That helped me jump into this WFPBno world back in October. Since then I have found that my hair has become softer, my extreme Neuropathy is at a record breaking low -- in almost gone! And my inflammation is nearly gone as well.
*** I have lived with chronic Neuropathy - from head to toe for as long as I can remember, slowly getting worse as I got older. I cannot believe my pain level is so manageable!
Up until November, *from the age of 5 years old* the slightest bump or stubbed toe would throw me into 2 or 3 days of constant pain - the nerves screaming in pain all that time... NOW ... I can graze by the furniture, bump into things or stub my toe with very little pain - which subsides quickly like any normal person. I. Am. In. Shock!!!! I have never experienced this before in my life... I have never - ever been this pain free before.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Jill for giving me the wings of courage to change my life for the better!

I replaced the salsa and cumin with liquid smoke, to make it taste more like beef. It was awesome! I think I will add Italian seasonings, and make it into meatballs. Thank you, Jill, for this awesome, versatile recipe. It is by far our favorite vegan meal.

I gave this recipe a try three days ago. I’ve been Whole Food plant based for roughly 7 years now. I’ve tried every plant-based Burger patty recipe on the Internet I am sure. This is by far the best one I have ever made. It stays together and it just keeps getting better in flavor. I’m not one for leftovers, but this Bean patty just gets better and better. I finished the fourth patty today and it tasted even better than it did day one. This will definitely become a part of my meal plan. Thank you so much for sharing this it’s excellent ❤️

Psyllium is a pretty strong laxative (main ingredient in Metamucil, for example), and it also helps remove cholesterol. You can try bread crumbs and flax seeds as an alternative if you want to avoid the laxative effect of psyllium or need to medically.

    • @Flash777-b5p
      @Flash777-b5p 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

That’s true and not only that but people don’t realize that psyllium husk has lead and that is definitely a health concern. To be on the safe side it’s best to stay away from it and use other alternatives.

I watched a video once, can`t recall who it was, but they covered the burgers for the first half and then uncovered for the second half, I use my bottom half of my broiler pan to cover. I find it really helps to get those oats nice and stuck together with the other ingredients for a better burger firmness. So I cover all flavors of my oat based patties now. Love the smoked paprika in them also...

Thank you for this video. Looks good! Do you freeze before or after baking the burgers?

Seems like the Psyllium Powder is the key to getting a firmer plant-based burger. I've had a "go to" recipe that has come pretty close - but I'll be interested in giving this one a try. Sounds like you took it to the 'next' level. Looking forward to trying this recipe!

Nope not at all.. I made these with extra ground flax, chia seeds and used more oat flour until it had the consistency that I wanted. It came out perfect and so delicious! You can also make these ahead and freeze. No more hunting for the perfect plant based burger ;)

Wondering if I can use this mixture for tacos? I can’t do burgers because of mouth issues.

I put tablespoon dollops on a small tray or plate and freeze them (spray surface with a little Pam first), then scoop up and freeze in plastic freezer bag or freezer container to use in various recipes. If you do not want to use Pam to keep the dollops from sticking, simply run a little hot water on bottom of tray or plate and then the pieces will come off without totally melting.

They look so good! Can’t wait to try them. I have a question concerning freezing them, do you freeze them cooked or uncooked?
    Thanks!

    Hey Jill!
I have yet to find a vegan burger recipe that doesn't cruble or fall apart.
    I hope this is it!
Oh,and can you start sharing whole soybean recipes?
There is NOT a single channel cooking whole soybeans.
Everyone cooks tofu, tempeh, tvp but no one cooks the soybean itself.
And i have lots and lots of soybeans in my pantry.
Burgers, breads,'meats', who kows what can be done with them.
    Thanks!

You could use chickpea flour and your burgers won't crumble at all.

There are lots of channels making soy milk, tofu, tempeh, miso etc. From scratch using whole soybeans. Good luck!

You can also sub them for any beam that needs creaminess such as garbanzo in a chilli - they are higher in fat than other beans (as are garbanzos) so they shine in that way
