Hello. I have this system with 2x X5650s and 36GB ram. It ran perfectly fine from winter to summer but fans going crazy since June. Fans blow so strong that the case temp can decrease to 18 - 19c. I can confirm that the environment isn't even that hot. I finally gave up and locked the power mode to 'Static Power Save' and 'Minimal power usage'. That helped fans to slow down but when I run a software, they go crazy and decrease a bit but not fully quiet down for a long time even after closing the software. Everything is fine and health light is green. What could be wrong, is it only hot weather?
Good morning, for the issue of monitoring this equipment, how is it done, I have this equipment but it does not have SNMP COMMUNITY and my zabbix monitoring application is not compatible, I also tried IPMI without success. Is there any way to monitor the ILO3
Use 16 sticks of 8GB DDR3 1333 PC3-10600R ECC Registered server memory. Insert DIMMs in first 2 slots of each channel and leave 3rd slot empty. This is the best set up for optimal performance with 128GB total. Good luck. Smash that subscribe.
Hi Nathan - great question. You want to install your DIMMs at the start of each memory channel. There are 6 channels for the HP DL360 G7 and DL380 G7. You want to spread them evenly across each channel. The start of the channel will be easy to identify as the DIMM slot tabs are color coded. White is start of new memory channel. So you will install in the 6 white slots. Good luck. Smash that subscribe.
So I wan't to just say the whole part about "384GB at 1600MHz" is incorrect, yes I know you stated that it downclocks due to 1333MHz being max these CPUs support, but nowhere atall you mention that it will downclock to 800MHz. Sure its possible this could be due to me using LV dimms but even my DL360 G6 can run these same dims at 1333MHz with a less powerful CPU. Strangely HP removed the RBSU setting for "Memory Speed for 2 DIMMs per Channel" option in the DL380 G7. Not sure if this is due to my RBSU being out of date but its running 3.00 which is the same as my DL360 G6 (and HP doesnt make it easy to update these machines with the paywalls...)
After the video was over, we filled up all the DIMMs on CPU2. Didn't want to add a couple of extra minutes of just loading modules. Our newer videos, we fill up completely and fast forward so it's not a bunch of dead video time.
Depends on what you are looking for. Performance. I recommend 16 x 16GB 1600MTs ECC Registered server memory upgrades. Price wise, I recommend 8 x 32GB 1333MTs Load Reduced server memory upgrade kits. You can find both kits on our website. If you need international shipping, then we can accommodate as well. Whats the most optimum way to put 128gb of ram in this?

Hello Cloud Ninjas, i have a problem on our DL380 G7 we have 2 cpus, we have 8x4GB ram sticks, and 4x16GB ram stick, how can we install all of them ?
Install 16GBs in 1st slot of memory channel 1 and 2 for both procs. Install 4GBs in 1st slot of channel 3 and 4 for both procs. Smash that subscribe.
Hi, i've read your site and, so if i have one of this server dl380 g7, i can give it to you; am I wrong?
Yes. We will accept broken or older servers. Thank you.
I have 2 CPUs and 6 x 16Gb 10600 - how can i put ?

Why has all the new RAM gone into one side (CPU-1)? Shouldn't it have been split evenly between both sides?

But yes. If not fully loading, then you need to evenly distribute in each memory channel. This maximizes performance. Thank you. Take care.
If you have 2 cpus you cannot leave one cpu without ram because it wont initialize it and wont boot. You need at least one module per cpu

@Ivana Němečková yeah, understood!
