I always thought it was peculiar that the BOM states the difficulty of writing on the plates, and then quotes nearly identically all the chapters of Isaiah. Seems that it would have been much easier to simply reference Isaiah from the Brass Plates, and save the space on the gold plates. I used to think this was because Isaiah was so important. Your podcast brings a different perspective (ie, Joseph is trying to use Isaiah as easy "filler" material to flesh out the text).
I actually don’t think the precision of the 600 year timeline is much of an issue. Nephi didn’t say “exactly 600 years,” so it could easily be explained as an estimate. However, the Mosiah theory coupled with the fact that no one else after Nephi seems to know about the 600 year prophecy IS a big issue.
As RFM pointed out, though the nephites were going to be killed on a specific day that was 600 years from the time of the prophecy to the day and then it happens

Hey RFM. The other point in the count of 600 years is that the Hebrews in that time would have used the Hebrew calendar. That makes it about 590 years between The time Lehi supposedly left Jerusalem and the birth of Jesus. The Hebrew calendar has fewer days compared to the modern Gregorian calendar or Julian Calendar which was in use in the 1800s.
The quick handoff to Mosiah also doesn't account for enough generations (5 between Nephi and Mosiah) to cover the 470 years. Every father would of had to give birth to their son at the average age of 77. Nephi/Jacob to Enos to Jarom to Omni to Amaron/Chemish to Abinadom to Amaleki/Mosiah
Very interesting theory on the filler. Curiously enough, the printer’s manuscript takes 116 pages to reach Mosiah. Of course, we would need to convert printer’s handwriting size/spacing to to Martin Harris’s, which we don’t have. But I assume we have other samples of Martin Harris’s writing. RFM, I would be interested in case you ever want to do a follow up with more evidence.

Is there evidence to suggest early nineteenth biblical chronologies placed the first year of Zedekiah’s reign in 600 BCE? Otherwise, why would JS have selected this timeframe?
I am confident that he has indeed become aware.Nevertheless, the process of producing these videos requires a significant investment of time, and he is currently facing a strict albeit self-imposed deadlines. Fortunately, we, as individuals, possess the ability to discern and comprehend the intended message. Such occurrences are not uncommon. If individuals who adhere to the beliefs of The Book of Mormon were to apply the same level of scrutiny to it, it is highly likely that the financial contributions made by members in the form of tithing would be impacted. Would you not concur with this assessment?
I love RFM and his amazing work however I don't think the 600 year argument is all that strong. To me, 3 Nephi 1 still reads like it could be around 600 years. Also if someone tells me something is going to happen in 600 years I wouldn't take it as meaning exactly 600 years, and even if I did, all that would mean to me is a long time after I am dead so there would not be a lot of incentive to carefully count down the years. Also if someone I personally heard predicts something is going to happen in 5 years (Samuel) I'm going to give that a lot more credence than what someone supposedly said 600 years ago. I guess the argument is that a scripture writer wouldn't pass up the opportunity to write the fulfillment of a previous prophecy.
September 11 4 B.C. as More than 1 constellation converged . together over Israel at that time period. The magi followed one of these Constellations to Israel. Nothing seems to connect, and quite frankly, it sounds like word salad to me. But like I said, I’ve never read it but I have read the Bible and I don’t have the experience of disjointed content and stories.
