    That Yaesu FT450D is a sweet piece of kit and looks like loads of fun. Nice to see local chatter increasing in your neck of the woods. I gotta say I am partial to Yaesu. i hope to find some more Yeasu gems in my bartering future. Thanks for the UK chatter sample. I love it!

      Totally agree. Definitely a gentlemen's conversation with a bit of pork chewing for good measure.

    Hi Fred I have looked in the owners manual could not find anything looked online and I think it says 35watts am not sure. I was just doing a power check on the radio Fm 100 watts ssb 100 watts and only 35watts AM. I thought I would just check with you if this was right.

    • @CB-RADIO-UK
      @CB-RADIO-UK  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its a shame but i never use AM. Normally the AM power is much lower than FM.

    Hi Fred. I understand where you get Fred in the shed from and the Jaffa cake station I assume you just pick anything which you relate to? But what about the longer letters & numbers identification? 26 CT 16 64? Is that something you make up yourself or is there some formal meaning to the call? Very interesting videos you make. I could quite get into that myself I think! I have an FT897 but only listen on it so far.

      Hi Rob. The Charlie Tango call signs are registered at the Charlie Tango online radio forum. I ve been told that the website has been a bit hit or miss at the moment but its still up and running if you google for more info.

    Hi ya Fred I’ve just watched the video and I’m awaiting delivery of my Yaesu 450D I’m moving up my setup. Just hope I can find out how it works it looks a bit complicated? Just hope I can get my head round it.

    • @CB-RADIO-UK
      @CB-RADIO-UK  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it is pretty menu based. Once your set up you really wont need to go into the menus too much other than RF power etc. Make sure you set the mic EQ to suit your voice.

    hi Fred I know this is completely different to a CB radio but I have recently moved on to pmr radios there seems to be a hell of lot more people on have you ever used one

      Hi mate. Yes ive got UV5-R and a little mobile radio which covers PMR 446 Mhz. I ve not checked for a while as i had a local motor bike training school taking up a few of the channels. Other than that there was no traffic.

    Excellent video Fred. And your audio is much better. Were you using your new toy??LOL. I hope I'm as good as Eric at 87 years, never mind I've got 16 years to practise Fred LOL. Good muppetless contacts, just the way it should be, keep it up Fred.Thanks.
    Roy.

      @CB-RADIO-UK  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Roy. Yes the audio is straight out of the radio and through the mixer. Eric is a real star on the radio around these parts. Key's the mic faster than anyone. :-)
