I would love to have one .. do you know how much they are and could I get one shipped to me from the UK? Also are they setup any different there than the US?
Afraid Yaesu stopped selling the 450 a couple of months ago. There are a few new ones left in stock in the UK. Prices new UK are around £600 + and used £400- 500. The early models with the red lighted button display had PCB earthing issues causing noise. The later white lighted buttons seem ok so far.
Hi there, say I was wondering if you can answer a question for me, does preserdent offer a radio for new zealand frequencies ? Kind Regards from New Zealand snell !
Hi Fred, great videos mate... Fred can you please tell me if the yaesu 450d comes with the 11 mtr band as standard or does it need programming etc? Thanks. 73s
Hey Fred... can you let me have some quick advice on the 4t0d please. I’m taking my foundation exam in a few weeks and would probably be buying one of these. However, I’ve read that I might need to get it ‘wide banded’ to get the SSB channels you talk on. Is that right or will I be able to use those channels out of the box! Thanks Fred. CT763 👍
Hi John. Yes thats right. Out of the box the radio will not transmit on the 11 meter band. I had mine wide banded for an extra £20 at the time of purchase.
Okies, thanks for the quick reply, Fred. Jolly decent of you, sir! I love the look of the 450D, and after reading many reviews, and seeing you operate on it, I am convinced this is the starter rig for me. Just need to save a bit now that's all... and hope I pass my exam in a few weeks! eek!
Did you convert the 450D to 11 meters or was it already setup for 11 meters?
I paid an extra £20 when ordering new for the conversion.
