I love you enthusiastic you are about catching anything. Most get agitated if they aren’t catching smallmouth or largemouth. You’re happy to hook every species.
You should make a video where you search for a random creek you've never been to or heard of and show how you pick them and then go to the creek and catch em. A little behind the scenes to your fishing experience and also entertaining and educational to us

You should try Indian Creek in Eastern Hardin county, Tennessee on highway 64. Smallmouth, Rock bass, cats, and Largemouth.

Just like the neshaminy creek, bucks county pa. Lots of medium smallies a few big ones and lots of everything else. Up the hill the quarry had bucketmouths that bit my ledgebuster spinnerbaits in winter.great job bro.

Another great video John especially liked footage of the Eagles we are seeing more all the time in Indiana what a magnificent bird love to watch them hunt for fish the speed and accuracy is truly amazing.

Eagles in my experience are a sign of a healthy ecosystem. Beautiful!
While at work in around 1998, a bald eagle choked out and quartered a Canada goose in front of me at a fish launch in BC.
It was a crazy thing to see, and of course I didn't have a camera! It cut off the front quarter with the breast attached, flew off with it, and it returned 15mins later, did the same to the other side. It was right at dawn, and it flew off with the rest of the remains the 3rd time.

That's first fish looks like it's been eating good.
the lighter, more yellow smallmouth are actually a different subspecies called Neosho smallmouth. here in northeastern Oklahoma, the Neosho smallies inhabit our creeks, especially in the foothills of the Ozarks. it would explain why the ones in Missouri were that color, with the Neosho smallie originating in Missouri.
You should give Sumac Creek another try. Start at 225. You'll need wader's. Walk the creek until you see power lines overhead then follow them to Baxter road. Good fishing through there.

That creek reminded me soooo much of one of my favorites about 25 minutes from the house. Some deep holes, nice riffles and long pools and Uber gin clear water. You were staying them. Yes I know how these small areas are hard to find and special places. There’s plenty out there for other people to discover with some work.

Any not stupid person would look at a map find where rivers run and discern whether or not there is any public property that you can put in a kayak or start to wade and fish. People that ask for good spots are idiots expecting people to give them up are idiots. Any smart fisherman can find his own good spots
I've had no luck so far but my son caught a few big large mouths and some walleye.

sadly western tennessee isn't really good for smallmouth, your best bet will be any creeks that branch off of the tennessee river. any river in middle or east tennessee will be full of them though

I belie4ve the soft bodies from Leland are imitations of Lake Erie Hell Benders. That is a juvenile,, they can reach a foot long on the Ohio Shores. Smallmouths and walleyes eat t hem, at the very least. Fish it in the rocks.

What are these tiny black spots on the bellies of the Smallies? Every Smally you catch has them and the bigger the fish, the more it seems to have. I think I recall one video, either on this channel or somewhere else where someone was scraping these things off of the fish. Are they some kind of parasite? Do you know, John? Does anyone else know?
