My Mother was born in Lansing in 1928. I love the Nemo area. Beautiful rivers and streams. The plateau is beautiful and is different than the Smokies in its own way. Just watch out for poisonous snakes. Thanks for the great video Brother and keep'em coming!!!
I grew up smallmouth fishing on Little River in Blount County not far outside of GSMNP. I moved up to Anderson county a few years back and my shop is only 20 odd minutes from Nemo/Rock Creek Campground. When I went up to Nemo it felt just like home. I haven't really had time to fish it but hope to soon. GSMNP is so overcrowded now and it's nice when you get further out towards the plateau where there is equally beautiful county but no crowds at all.
John, Great Video and Outstanding Creek Fishing, Thanks for letting me go with you. I can't wait till I can walk again without a walker or cane. Take Care and God Bless You. Tim L.
There’s a river north of there that is just like it or maybe a little better. East Tennessee is full of small rivers like that and I’m lucky to have been born and raised here.
Obed Emory watershed! The old Nemo bridge -slept in my car underneath will waiting for daylight to kayak nearby island creek. Beautiful area not crowded like the smokies. Love Tennessee!
Great video, John! All those smallmouth looked dark and beautiful! You always catch multiple species which I love! Love the shot of your legs and feet with little fish swimming around!
You are blessed to live in E Tennessee, has to be one of the best fisheries anywhere. I wish there were more fish in Carolina mountain rivers but I think all the trout stocking hurts these smaller mountain streams bass and other bait fish population. Side note- check out Astral shoes and get the high tops that protect your ankle. Good non slip and made for kayaking and walking slick rock. Perfect creek walking shoes.
I fully agree, the WNC river bass fishing is lacking. I fish the French Broad for smallmouth mostly but the quality of the fish has declined in the last 5+years. I second the Astrals, it's all I use on the river now, fishing or kayaking/rafting.
Just fished WNC. Did OK with the largies (at least for me) but there weren’t any giants in there. And I third the Astrals. Just bought myself a pair and used them in NC for a week. Solid.
Me to but I could not find a place off the road to park! But when I was a young I could find parking all over and little road side picnic tables as a rest stop.
River fishing, to be able to read a river is a special skill and gift because most people never take the time too. I just leaned in the past year and it’s humbling to read a river. Keep going brother
Dude you should fish the buffalo river here in TN I only kayaked it when I was little but I remember seeing huge fish there when my buddies parents would fish, and now that I've learned my species etc, I remember those big fish being gigantic smallmouths lol...but you can definitely kayak and fish there. It's a pretty decent stretch of backwood creek bro
Buffalo river is a good place to fish! I have fished it for at least 30 years, broke my back working at the rail road in Nashville CSX, so I haven’t fished it in about 5 years but it’s good fishing there
Very nice looking stretch of river. Great idea mixing up the finesse hellgramites and crankbaits. Man they knock the fire out of them in current. As I was taught by a veteran river guide, the bass don't have time to mess around. They usually commit all in. Definitely worth the return visit with the kayak brother. Blessings
Love the scripture at the end! Awesome videos, too! I'm from Cleveland as well. After you inspired my nephew with your trip in front of Checkers he asked me to take him to fish at Tinsley Park after church this past Sunday. We had a great time fishing that part of Mouse Creek! I wish I had done a video on that.
Oh man nice recovery from your fall...that would have taken me 20 minutes to recover from. I recently was fishing on a slippery jetty & wiped out, fractured a rib, messed up my jaw pretty bad (with a chunk of my tooth embedded in my cheek for 3 weeks) chipped 3 teeth!!! I what a mess.... but still back fishing in recovery. U fish the most beautiful spots.
I slipped many times on slimy surface. We use to seine for hellgrammites. red horse minnows, and small crawfish. Caught a lot of different fish with them. Nice to see you having success with a hellgrammite lure.
great video......need to throw a shallow running brokenback in the fast running rapids......big ones lurking for anything headed over those rapids......thanks again.....
I got to say a lot of people do underwater footage but I appreciate yours the most. Watching this video and you just chilling there with all those fish swimming around you is awesome, not to mention that first rock bass you caught. Is that even legal in kentucky? I'm just kidding. I really appreciate your content John your videos everything man you're quite enjoyable to watch while I drink my morning coffee as well as throughout the day at work.
I know exactly where you are! That's a really cool spot. I was up there before I started fishing a couple years ago but I remember looking down and seeing just tons of fish in the water from that bridge
Bustin' a gut laughing at your ending, John! Didn't see that one coming! Love the creativity you put into your vids, especially the entertaining funny ending stuff like this! Keep it coming, Bro! :-)
Well now I have to go creek fishing this weekend! I love a silver and black rapala countdown minnow early in the day, especially where the current flows into a pool.
Loved it, may be long for the river that I fished in my teen years, Houston river. I had forgotten how much fun small mouth bass and red eyes were . Thank you.
Looks similar to a spot on the Buffalo River in Arkansas. Once you experience the NIKKO HELLGRAMITE; it’s hard to go back to other baits. Good show John
I live in Bell Buckle Tn down close to state line some ok spots to fish here I mostly avoid swift current spots unless I get a gut feeling telling me to hit it
How do you not get snagged on rocks all the time?!!! Would love to see a bit of a tutorial on what hooks you are using to put on your swim bait and hellgrammite!
Have you posted the follow up video I love close to Nemo and I’m wanting to get more into kayak fishing the rivers I want to see your experience as well we done it once last year from Nemo where you first start fishing to oakdale park
I fish so many rivers in central Indiana almost identical to what I see here that’s why I love you videos so much because they give me is like other people fishing
Hey John...have you ever fished the Mulberry river in the Ozarks? i like fishing it when its low in mid summer.... i love hitting the holes there... alot of snakes and TICKS...but good fishing, swimming and kayaking.... also check out Rim Shoals resort on the White river...EXCELLENT trout fishing
John, please kayak this with a strong friend! Several rapids that are way rougher than expected. It’s beautiful but I turned over 3 times in 4 or more miles. Where you take out is absolutely the weirdest place you can imagine. Up on the railroad tracks. Good fishing and may God continue to bless you
That was a lovely place to fish. Love your ending Bible verse shown against the beautiful bridge. Glad you weren't hurt in your slip on the wet rocks. So cool visuals at the end of minnows swimming around your legs. Still like the other video with you fishing in the ditch by the highway. Sweet
The wife and I where just in that area this spring. We came down there from northern Illinois to explore the Nemo tunnel. We really enjoy your videos. Thank you
That was pretty awesome, nice spot, good fish, cool ending, I see why you enjoy fishing there in your area so much who wouldn't , beautiful country, I bet it's really pretty in the fall when all the leaves change color, a real blessing
This place is a place called Nemo Trailhead. It's about 3 miles southwest of Wartburg. Nice place to fish and get in the water and cool down. It has parking under the bridge. There are LOTS of Jeep enthusiasts out here - good for off-roading.
@@CreekFishingAdventures Beautiful place - I wish I would have had the success you had there! You make it look easy (but we all know it takes work, preparation, and skill)! Thanks for sharing with us :0)
Hello, You should try bigger lures to catch bigger fish, you are a good fisherman, you are doing what i would like to do , i havent been fishing for 60 years, thanks Lewis
A pair of felt soled and studdied wading shoes have saved me from an awful lot of falls. A good investment fishing mountain and piedmont creeks and rivers. Bobby
Me and my son both love watching your channel. We use the crickhopper, and crawhopper, in creeks here in Ky, both work great. Just ordered the hellgrammite (berkley), looking forward to using them. Hope we have as much luck as you do.
AMEN! Looked to be some tannin stain in creek making those smallies beautiful! You had your own Japanese spa! Where they let the minnows eat your dead skin off!
Last year in October you had a video for fishing an island off NC where a ferry dropped you off. A couple of us are home from Afghanistan, is there a chance you could tell me the ferry and the island so we can go?
Straight braid or Fluoro leader? Man give me some tips on fishing swift current for smallies how do I catch them and detect bites in strong current like you did? I’ve tried plastics but I’m failing. The river I fish generally has very strong current. Thanks!
Its so awesome to see this video. A week or so ago I pinned this area on Google maps as a place I'd like to go. After watching this, im definitely going to make a trip up there!
Great video John. I've never caught a smallmouth bass In a lifetime of fishing, it seems like I would have lucked into one by now. They must be pretty cagey. I even hired a guide on the upper Delaware river one time and he didn't get it done. Stupid Guides! Now it's a bucket list item!
Look forward to all ur fishing adventures. Matter fact inspired me to get back out on the lake and creeks fishing again. Question what sun glasses are u wearing? Also when ur out in a creek what is ur general tackle bag u use??

Don't move to central Virginia! Our rivers look nothing like the rivers in Tennessee.
Always thought an ideal place to live would be somewhere in the Tennessee / North Carolina area .
Obed Emory watershed! The old Nemo bridge -slept in my car underneath will waiting for daylight to kayak nearby island creek. Beautiful area not crowded like the smokies. Love Tennessee!
Fun watching you spend some time on a beautiful river. Catching whatever bites. Great video.
Beautiful river so clear & very scenic. Take care & have fun 🐟

Do that a lot. Hellgrammites and black crickets works wonders. Also a small rebel crawdad
Another beautiful location. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful Smallies!! Super pretty color!!

Obed River in Cumberland County. There are some very shallow places places you never know what you're going to find. Crawdaddy's if nothing else :-)

Thank you
Awesome scenery and some beautiful smallmouth bass!
From the first time I watched your channel, the helgramite has been a winner. That initial bass was a hard hit. Good stuff.
Great video!
Nice & Relaxing Beautiful River...Nothing Like That Here In So Cal...Fish On !! 👍🏼
What a beautiful spot and another great video!
Beautiful scenery 👌 😍
Seems the crankbait was working well in the fast waters, and the helgramite in the slower deeper holes. Beautiful video John

When I creek or shallow river fish I use a 3/16 bullet weight and 2/0 ewg with a bandito bug jr or a strike king river bug.
Nice vid. You need to try some z-man trd bugs in those creeks. You won't be disappointed

Oh my lol that ending was hilarious 😂 they were cleaning you haha awesome video
Little known secret of the Emory is that Muskies are in that river too. I've seen some monsters pulled out of it.
Real cool video John, ty very much.
Nothing like Fall fishing!! 😪🙄🤠
Nice! You sure have some some pretty scenery there. And as for the ending, I'm not sure I'd want one of those little fish swimming up my shorts!
Absolutely beautiful country.
Had some good luck on the Nikko Winnow last week on the river. Started using Nikko because of your videos
Wow, what a pool @ the 8:30 mark! He needs a bucket of live minnows, crawls, or hellgrammites & he would do some serious damage!!!!
Love your vids I got a question what’s ur pb creek bass
Love your videos man keep it up
