I have reviewed the Sonnet in the past and while this particular version doesn't change all too much, the new mounting system is great. I do consider this more of a side upgrade or more of a 1.5 release rather than a 2.0.

hooooo boy, a fully PC Sonnet looks so tempting but that pricetag is crazy
good keyboards cost but not all cost too much.
I held off on pulling the trigger on the Sonnet. After seeing the other boards from Mode, I had a feeling they were going to refresh the mounting on the Sonnet. Ordering my board now, Nice Video!

I'm loving that they chose to update the Sonnet without really changing much since it's such a good board! The special colorways look killer, as do their "regular" offerings. Bummer though I was kinda hoping you'd try the copper plate. I've been curious about copper plates as they're not offered very frequently. That said, we've been seeing them more and more lately yet basically none of the content creators are using one in their builds so we still have little idea of what their characteristics are going to be like on different boards and/or with different mounting styles. Maybe next time?

im a fan of 75 this is indeed one of the best sounding and good looking 75, its bad timing that few ago my new 65 from mode just got delivered. i wish i new it earlier

Things have changed so much in the hobby since I bought the original sonnet and 350+ for a 75% just seems in insane in 2024... especially when cycle8 will be sub $200. Mode is middle-tier at best... they need to price accordingly.
I think there should be another collab of the Sonnet but the stone as the bottom and polycarbonate on top! I just got mine!! Can’t wait!!

The best of the best 75% layout keyboard on the market. The sonnet cannot be beat in look, finish and sound.
When I got my Mode65 Extras, I really didn't like that since What I got was pretty barebones stuff. But this one looks really good. Might pull the trigger later down the line!

would be cool if you could test lattice blocks with V1 parts, In the mode discord they're "technically" compatible but I wonder if the sound is different at all

Are those new travel cases as well? The old ones were great but I do like these ones at the beginning of the video too.
Yeah they follow suit with the more recent mode releases, lots of pockets and they are much better than the boxes.
Are the new Sonnet parts compatible the original? Like can I pair my old base with a V2 top, are the parts interchangeable? Also, can the new mounting system be ported over? Sorry for all the questions, I just love my original and thought maybe it could take advantage of the new version's hardware. Edit: It appears the new mounting system is not compatible with the old top case.
So the answer is no officially I believe, but I can always test these when I get the chance! I havent had the board for long yet!
