I just built in that case also and was experiencing some case envy watching this at first until I saw them side by side. This case a little too big for my needs/liking. As someone who loves making custom panels for my PCs, what I already love about this case (haven't finished the video) is how easy it looks to repaint without having to de-rivet certain portions.
If you used a 4080 FE or 4090 FE water cooled so it is only 206mm & moved the sandwich board up, you could add dual rads top & bottom with the CPU & GPU water cooled, but you will need to cut/tap some new threads.

@optimum; I got the ncase M1 off of your reviews, I got it in early 2020, just before the pandemic. And I've loved it for four years. It's perfect. This M2 looks fantastic!
Great video as always. I am looking forward to your builds in this. Curious if thermal performance favors the vertical mount (w/ 4090 and 7800X3D 280 rad) vs inverted configuration (same 4090 and D15L, or same 7800X3D 280 rad). Also, where do the front I/O ports go on the Grater front panel?
I'm still running my original DAN A4 v1 case from the first production run. I love that it sparked a whole market segment of beautifully compact and efficient cases.
Would be very cool to see a build in this with a matx mobo and atx psu. For those who want to downsize without rebuying everything 😅. Maybe even compare it side by side with the Meshroom D that allows matx board and atx psus with an extender bracket.
Would love the same video! At the same time, it's kinda sad that GPUs have gotten so big that a case that can fit almost all of them is defacto big enough for mATX now. I mean, that's cool, don't get me wrong. Just feels weird 😅 (Now, at 16L, where should I save it? In my list of ITX or mATX cases?)
I have the previous version mentioned in the video (M1EVO v1.1), so things might be different on the M2, but it's not as flexible as it might seem - some configurations of components only fit in one way (for example, it would be very difficult to do mATX MB with 4090 vertical, as you are then limited to water cooled CPU with small limit on CPU block). But it definitely is versatile, and I hope the extra width in the case opens up more options. I currently have my M1 EVO configured in "classic M1" style, using a mATX board, SFX PSU, 7800x3d, air cooled, 4090 air cooled and I'm very happy with it, it really is the NCASE M1 successor.

I also found it a lot of fun to work with as it there was some definite problem solving involved and relying on the community who were all very helpful.
I love small cases but these days I'm running two GPUs to do local AI with. It would be great if my fans and heatsinks never get clogged with dust.
When I think back to when i first discovered itx and found the nr200p the option to use the cheaper matx board, cheaper full size psu while also being relatively cheaper compared to the current market will make it a pretty compelling choice for new pc builders or those looking to downsize. The cpu height is the only thing theyll have to concern themselves with. If new builders can get over the need to put an aio on underpowered parts with a glass side panel then this is a great case for sure.

Would love to see your full build guide for the M2, as you mentioned might be coming down the line! Specifically, I'm wondering if beefier cards NEED to be in the vertical orientation, or if they can be installed in flipped config as well - assuming the width / height fit in the case? Does vertical GPU allow better cooling for a bigger card?
one of the things i really like about my M1 classic is that the side and top panels use the same design venting (the holes) - However on the M1 Evo and the new M2 i find the different mesh on the top and sides to be quite disruptive to the overall design. the Grater introduces a third "mesh" vent design which is even more jarring to look at
I was concerned with the QC issues that came about with previous versions of the NCASE M1 EVO. I ended up pre-ordering the Loque Ghost R1. From the spec sheet, that thing can even fit my NH-D15. Excited for that in October.
Great video! This case looks very interesting. I think the "holy grail of PC cases" is over the top, though. The main advantage of this case, compared to, for example, the FormD T1 or the NR200 (I have built PCs using both of those cases), is the fact it can take a micro ATX motherboard, whereas the other two I mentioned can only house mini ITX motherboards. The video made a big point of the fact that this case is able to house the largest GPU on the market (Asus ROG STRIX 4090?), whereas the T1 and NR200 can't. That is a good point, but I think that is missing the main point to some extent. Good video though, as always. This is by far one of the best channels on TH-cam.
This seems to be the future proof case, when I'm gonna switch back to building itx PC's again. I've got 2 ridges, 1 with an itx board and the other with a mini dtx. For what I can see, I could switch my current dtx build to this case. You've got me interested again in coming back for building in these small cases. And I'm also looking forward to hear more of your Collab with wooting for the 60he(+) case 🎉
I would really like a deep dive in how you would optimize your setup. So if you have a watercooler start with placing that and then depending on X place your motherboard in X spot away from the radiator. This way the case can actually be used in the most optimized way instead of having just a few rough but good layouts. Like if you want to optimize then you should follow a few set rules. Or maybe steps. One thing is for sure, having so much optimisation is only awesome if we know how we can take advantage of it. It's not just being able to fit everything. It's also fan clearance and gpu clearance. etc.
Ncase M1 was what got me into SFF so will always love that case, these days I am running a NR200 but I am excited for the Ncase FF1 the most (if/when it eventually releases).
What GPU cable are you using here? I just set mine up and am having trouble fitting the side panel on with the 90 degree 12vhpwr cable that came with my Cooler Master V1100 SFX Platinum. Is that an adapter or custom cable, or did you find one off-the-shelf that will fit with the 4090 in that case?
I'm an Ncase M1 6.1 owner myself. Still using the Crosshair VIII Impact wich its DTS form factor won't fit on any sandwitch layout. Finally a new case to look forward to without needing to replace my motherboard.
Love the Ncase still have my m1 v6.1 I don’t need to upgrade since I’m running a 3060ti but after seeing these I want one. Only other case I really liked was the T1 and loved that you mentioned it on this video those are the top best cases honestly.

Fun fact: new ncase M2 has nothing to do with ncase m1 v6.1 that Ali loves so much.
That’s a huge shame Ali keeps advertising cases from W360
What do you mean by it has nothing to do with M1?
The quality of your videos is insane.
its been a month and still no proper video aside from this ad.. how much more testing is needed
one of the things i really like about my M1 classic is that the side and top panels use the same design venting (the holes) - However on the M1 Evo and the new M2 i find the different mesh on the top and sides to be quite disruptive to the overall design. the Grater introduces a third "mesh" vent design which is even more jarring to look at
It's a CH160 for 5x the cost. Nice
Idk how you thought of that. Its different.
Never cook again they are very different
it isn't
Thank you for the awesome review. Are you planning to review the Louqe Ghost R1? Debating between these 2 cases
all these beautiful cases and here I am still using my Ghost s1 hehe, love the video they are always top notch!
Yoo, NCASE is back. I built my M1 based on your videos, and fell in love with SFFPC design. I can't wait to see your M2 videos.
@8:16 does the panel fit in the end? Would a glass panel work no problem or an Right Angle Power Adapter on the GPU is required?
have you considered deconstructing the gpu so it fits better like you can just make ur own gpu
He gives me that Sage Athletic Monk vibe with those brown hoodie robes.
When will be the m2 grater build that case looks very nice if you have the matching side panels
Love the video and it convinced me to finally pull the trigger in prep for a new build at the end of this year. 😁
Your channel and review of the M1 got me into sff pcs. I still to this day have my M1 (now retired) and don’t plan to sell it ever.
Can't wait to see the builds you do in this! I have an M1 because of your vids and when I upgrade my gpu from a 1080, I'll definitely be going to the M2. Maybe my first water cooled build as well!
I was so bummed when NCASE discontinued the M1. I'm so happy to hear they are making the M2!
Ive been obsessed with the "smokestack" airflow setup lately, and i cant say i can even begin to understand how this case is supposed to airflow
Have one on order, cant wait for your build video 😁
dude, you don't even have to have this high production, you can literally upload anything and I'll watch, clean ass n
Great video! Can't wait for the build guide.
Perfect timing on this, as I've been rocking the M1 for like 8 years, but will need something bigger for the 5080 when that comes. Nothing out there has hit the spot for me, but this looks like it will for my planned air build. Can't wait to see your build guide, and I'll wait for the second release.
I was getting more and more interested in the Dan C4-SFX, but found it expensive and sadly, discontinued.
Well, well, well, look what the cat dragged in? 😻
This is beautiful. Great video. And timely.
They have links to 9 build guides on the website, although for some reason they're broken right now and don't actually take you to any sort of build guide, but instead just loop back and refresh the same page you're on.
this looks awesome. im in no rush so i don't mind waiting for it to be in stock but im also waiting for the era 2 from fractal. that case also looks pretty cool from what i have seen so far.
Do you need one of the brackets to install a sfx (corsair sf1000) at all? Or can you manage without one? If so, which one would I need? Standard/vgpu setup if that changes things
