My friend sets all his games to the hardest difficulty available from the first time he plays them. He played L4D on expert so much that he was able to get through each campaign by himself multiple times. He swears it’s fun, I think he’s crazy.

@@Snamwiches hunters are the developers way of getting you to stick with the team since they hunt stragglers and kill you the faster then most of the special infected. I've never seen one spawn in a safe room, but maybe the hunters ai is boosted when you're team is all NCPs. Probably just heighten ai and good old L4D glitch.
Did the same some time ago. The rush of seeing the rescue arrive, seeing that all your meat shields are long gone and hearing a smoker and a hunter around the corner as the tank finishes off the last bot really fills you with adrenaline.
I forgot all about player rag dolls in left 4 dead. That first witch smacking bill down the street was amazing. It’s sad that they removed them from left 4 dead 2 because of the defibrillator
Big hint for anyone attempting this or if you do L4D2. There is an option for "full captions" in the options menu and it gives you text which shows when a boomer, smoker, hunter, tank etc spawns and are close so you can make it a tiny bit easier
Captions are an absolute godsend on any difficulty. Like they will legitimately notify you on any special infected spawns long before you'd naturally hear them
I feel like Snam didn't realize that the Boomer in the saferoom was because the Church Guy turned infected and became it. He's scripted to turn into either a Hunter, Smoker, or Boomer when the saferoom is open.
@@andytheshark You can just open and close the saferoom door immediately to cause the special infected to spawn but not be able to attack you. Would work equally well with a tank

Iirc he has a higher chance of turning into a Boomer than a Smoker or Hunter, but those are the only programmed options for him. There are videos out there of people modding the game to have him turn into a Tank or whatever but it’s just not possible in the base game.
Yeah I am happy though on L4D2 with mods you can have the OG ragdolls commons and or maps cause it ain't No Mercy without camping on the roof above the radio.

it's impossible to replicate l4d in l4d2, it will never have the dark atmosphere, the horror aspect, the old weapon models/animations, and Turtle Rock!
Back in the day, (or maybe they still work), there were glitches for each campaign finale, where you just hold out and don't take damage. They were all dubbed "Jesus spots," and were beyond clutch. No Mercy had the Jesus room, Death Toll had the Jesus rock, Dead Air had the Jesus plane, and Blood Harvest had the Jesus tree.
You should try Left 4 Dead 2 Expert realism by yourself lol. I have “fond” memories of that achievement. I remember it was Thanksgiving day 2009. I made it with my squad all the way to the end on Dead Center. We were 4 hours deep and dinner time rolled around. Everyone had to bail, but I desperately didn’t want to go through it again. Spent an hour trying to do the finale with the A.I. and kept failing. Then some random kid from Indonesia joined and we clutched tf up. I was only 40 minutes late for Thanksgiving dinner 😅😂

I remember playing Left 4 Dead 2 on the Xbox 360 one time and I was trying to get that damned achievement where you survive Dead Center on Expert. I had and still have no friends so I just played with bots. After hours of suffering finally I made it to the finale where you must grab like 8-12 gascans to gas up a car and escape.... and right as I'm about to pour the last can... Rochelle decides to heal me while I'm pouring the can SOMEHOW causing my entire Xbox to freeze/crash... And yes I cried hysterically and wanted to smash my head through my tv. And had to suffer through that all again.
I remember the day this game came out. My friends and I skipped school to be at home and play. We played for 8 hours straight that day, and didn't manage to finish the first level on the hardest difficulty. If my memory serves me right, they had to make that difficulty easier because it was borderline impossible to actually finish anything. At the end of the hospital on the helipad, we had to fight anywhere between 3-5 tanks... at the same time... on a roof... against enemies that knock you back flying. After the nerf though, we did finish the entire game on the highest difficulty.

My high school days with friends and my brother was just L4D every night - we actually got this achievement. I wish I could do it all again. Adult life happened and I don't talk to any of them anymore.....such is life.
@@Snamwiches I actually prefer 1 over 2. The charger and jockey really took the fun out of it, with their inane health pools. The spitter was a nice addition though. Made the corner camping during hordes less viable.
@@probablybears try getting some of the better bots mods, they make the game much more enjoyable (bots can take and use explosives, refill gas, and basically complete an entire level without help)
I remember all these levels more than I thought I would. I'm terrible at first person shooters, but even I'm better than the AI. This video had me in tears. Congrats! That looks so frustrating, but you made it hilarious.
8:37 I think the actual reason this happened is that the ai director went into the relax phase, and in l4d1 relax doesn't spawn any infected, unlike l4d2 which just spawns a little.

I’ve done this trophy a lot so here are some tips. On almost all the holdouts like dead airs crane, no mercy generator room, the construction site,death toll finally,the church, can all be easily passed by simply running back to the safe room or just running to a far way spot then you’ll get barley any infected and sometimes a few specials but it’s the best way to get everyone through solo. Secondly if you’re a survival player most If not all of the glitch spots are possible in the finally and some chapters to make them easier like for example blood harvest you can jump on a invisible platform and get out of bounds where nothing can reach you and it makes it 1000x easier to reach the APC. Just make sure you have a pipe bomb. lastly for most horde sections or if a horde spawns just find a good corner and just spam bash since it’s inf and they can’t hit you sometimes you’ll get a lil smack or two but it can sometimes save your life especially when everyone is dead.
This video inspired me to try for the sister achievement of this in LFD2 (all campaigns on expert) with AI. Dear God, there was a lot of screaming and I woke my house up screaming "ROACHELLE HE'S RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUSHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!" Pretty fun 9 hours, with a shiny achievement in the showcase now :)
L4D1 has some really weird mechanics, a lot of which got changed in 2. For example: -Being able to shoot your own teammates while downed -Multiple tanks can spawn in the same level(l4d2 capped it to 1) -Setting tanks on fire specifically in campaign makes them move 10% faster. -There’s no shove cooldown in campaign(although there is in versus) -Survival maps use the versus versions of the level instead of the campaign versions -The hunting rifle was terrible in the original version, being changed to match 2’s version following the sacrifice. -Weapons always spawn next to each other on tables in set locations,you can’t find any randomly by themselves on the floor, besides pistols(The sole exception to this is a guaranteed shotgun spawn on the 3rd chapter of Death Toll) That’s not to mention all of the various exploits that 1 has vs 2.
Funny thing is one of my missing achievements is finishing with zero friendly fire incidents. Can’t tell you how many times I get close only for Louis or Bill to get in my way during a horde lol
LMFAO that and the not getting damaged by special infected ones were the worst for me other than this one, but the crash course DLC helped a ton since it was only 2 chapters long
You can melee and break the big metal door at 6:21 down and skip the beginning horde event. Just look at it and hold your melee button down for a little bit. Hope this helps someone out :)

I don't know if someone else commented this but please tell if someone did but In chapter 3 where you thought that the mobs were just gone after your team had died is not because they were dead But because you just ran away from the tank There are times where if there is a tank on the Area/Field Common/Uncommon and Special infected won't spawn until the tank is dead Think of it as the tank takes up the maximum spawn rate (i.e 60 mobs need to be spawned and there are around 40/60 already spawned, so the tank takes up around 20/60 spawns) This is how I think of it
I remember spending hours getting this achievement in Left 4 Dead. I still have two expert campaigns left (Dark carnival and swamp fever) in Left 4 Dead 2 and the realism achievement. I always managed to make it to the finale, but the AI players make this 1000% more difficult. 1000% is definitely an understatement Edit: What I learned from these runs is powering through the stages and try not become still. This will likely skip the horde encounters and force your AI players to respawn glitch closer to you. I have the physical copies when the games initially released, so I'm unsure if they patched that in the digital content. Nice play through!

The xbox 360 days of online gaming were the golden years of multiplayer Gears of war 1 ,left 4 dead 1 and 2 ,FEAR ,singularity, soldier of fortune, the darkness,prey,turok,call of duty 4,homefront, hour of victory, timeshift, saints row 1 and 2,ghost recon advanced warfighter 2,rainbow six Vegas, bioshock 2, just to name a few that I played to death
For the record, blood harvest hold out is extremely easy if you just stand out by the gate the truck crashes through. Wide open, nothing to sneak up behind you and the bots will snipe the enemies as they run across the huge open area
Not gonna lie this looked like a real pain in the ass to do, especially solo. Nicely done pushing through it! Those random special infected jumpscares were hilarious 😂
turns out in dead space hardcore mode u can save as often as u want. If u close the game after saving, it gives u 3 new saving opportunitys everytime... game doesn´t tell u :D but your videos 10/10 even if it is harder then i should be (dead eye)
I remember playing this back on release. The best way to finish Expert was to run as fast as you could, kill all A.I. survivors at the end so they respawn with more health. Then run again. The hardest parts were the hoard segments where you could not run, where you have to turtle. Although, the first L4D was broken as you could hit as many times as you wanted without a cool down. So you could just sit in a corner and got infected away whilst the A.I, aim not the hell out of all the specials. Each finale had a glitch spot/room too. I have fond memories of the No Mercy finale “Jesus Room”.
I felt your pain watching this, I finished this achievement a few days ago and blood harvest final made me wanna commit😂 the only reason I even passed and passed really early was because 2 people joined at the finale and we sat in the barn, if they haven’t joined I would’ve been on that mission longer, I’m happy you were able to complete this, good job
Ugh the sound of the witch crying gives me so many nostalgic memories. The terror I felt as a kid playing this and hearing that, knowing what was about to happen to me and my friends. For those who do not know, Bill from L4D is in a game called Dead by Daylight. They had a crossover, but for some reason the owners of the L4D license did not want to give any other characters but Bill. I wish the Witch was a playable killer in DBD, it would be so much fun.
I spent 5 hours one night in high school trying to beat Death Toll on expert single-player and the furthest I got was the church before I rage quit and almost put my fist through my computer screen. My bots could not handle a tank and kept getting hit by boulders. Anybody that's gotten even the one campaign on expert achievement with bots has my utmost respect because goddamn I lost my mind playing for it

I can’t remember the campaign name (the last one where your picked up from a farmhouse) anyway our tactic to survive was two of us crouch in front and bash and the two behind shoot , inside a cupboard so no zombie could come from behind. Well just as the pick up arrived my friend shot and downed all of us, after we had attempted it like 20 times… needless to say the friendship was tainted after that 😂

Once, on Dark Carnival (Expert) a Witch spawned ON the door of the safe room. . . at the end of a 'run for your life' event. Killed me instantly. Never even knew it was there.
The finale on No Mercy is not that hard on expert. All you need to do is hold out in the closet, if a tank comes run around the map and deal with him, once you deal with the final tank stay under the heli pad. *this can also be done without any teammates*
Man I’ve been playing this game since it released off and on for years, this game played a huge part in my childhood I remember getting on after school with all my dudes fast forward to now and I’m the only one out of my friends who still gets on Xbox, broke my heart that this game doesn’t have many players anymore
I actually did this solo with bots in both games. The bots are actually pretty good at being sentry turrets provided you can keep all the zombies in front of them. They're fairly accurate and can see all zombies provided they aren't directly behind a wall. As long as you inch forward and methodically clear out all mobs, it's fairly easy to do with bots. Except Dark Carnival. That level can go #$$& itself because of the rollercoaster and just before the fourth safehouse.

That's how I played Ghosts of Tsushima for the first time. Japanese dialog, limited hud elements, and hardest difficulty. I was very immersed.

It's still in Left 4 Dead 2 but, only if the fall will hanging on the ledge.

If you have l4d2 on the pc. There's a really good ragdoll mod that's exactly like l4d1
They can also show up if you're the last standing survivor. Since no one can defib you, you get the classic ragdolls
there's a mod in the workshop that replicates ragdoll, including infected

I really miss this game. All the achievements were so fun to get in both games.
I remember all these levels more than I thought I would. I'm terrible at first person shooters, but even I'm better than the AI. This video had me in tears. Congrats! That looks so frustrating, but you made it hilarious.

8:37 I think the actual reason this happened is that the ai director went into the relax phase, and in l4d1 relax doesn't spawn any infected, unlike l4d2 which just spawns a little.

I’ve done this trophy a lot so here are some tips. On almost all the holdouts like dead airs crane, no mercy generator room, the construction site,death toll finally,the church, can all be easily passed by simply running back to the safe room or just running to a far way spot then you’ll get barley any infected and sometimes a few specials but it’s the best way to get everyone through solo. Secondly if you’re a survival player most If not all of the glitch spots are possible in the finally and some chapters to make them easier like for example blood harvest you can jump on a invisible platform and get out of bounds where nothing can reach you and it makes it 1000x easier to reach the APC. Just make sure you have a pipe bomb. lastly for most horde sections or if a horde spawns just find a good corner and just spam bash since it’s inf and they can’t hit you sometimes you’ll get a lil smack or two but it can sometimes save your life especially when everyone is dead.

This video inspired me to try for the sister achievement of this in LFD2 (all campaigns on expert) with AI. Dear God, there was a lot of screaming and I woke my house up screaming "ROACHELLE HE'S RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUSHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!"
Pretty fun 9 hours, with a shiny achievement in the showcase now :)
L4D1 has some really weird mechanics, a lot of which got changed in 2.
For example:
-Being able to shoot your own teammates while downed
-Multiple tanks can spawn in the same level(l4d2 capped it to 1)
-Setting tanks on fire specifically in campaign makes them move 10% faster.
-There’s no shove cooldown in campaign(although there is in versus)
-Survival maps use the versus versions of the level instead of the campaign versions
-The hunting rifle was terrible in the original version, being changed to match 2’s version following the sacrifice.
-Weapons always spawn next to each other on tables in set locations,you can’t find any randomly by themselves on the floor, besides pistols(The sole exception to this is a guaranteed shotgun spawn on the 3rd chapter of Death Toll)
That’s not to mention all of the various exploits that 1 has vs 2.
Funny thing is one of my missing achievements is finishing with zero friendly fire incidents. Can’t tell you how many times I get close only for Louis or Bill to get in my way during a horde lol
LMFAO that and the not getting damaged by special infected ones were the worst for me other than this one, but the crash course DLC helped a ton since it was only 2 chapters long

You can melee and break the big metal door at 6:21 down and skip the beginning horde event. Just look at it and hold your melee button down for a little bit. Hope this helps someone out :)

I don't know if someone else commented this but please tell if someone did but
In chapter 3 where you thought that the mobs were just gone after your team had died is not because they were dead
But because you just ran away from the tank
There are times where if there is a tank on the Area/Field
Common/Uncommon and Special infected won't spawn until the tank is dead
Think of it as the tank takes up the maximum spawn rate (i.e 60 mobs need to be spawned and there are around 40/60 already spawned, so the tank takes up around 20/60 spawns)

I remember spending hours getting this achievement in Left 4 Dead. I still have two expert campaigns left (Dark carnival and swamp fever) in Left 4 Dead 2 and the realism achievement. I always managed to make it to the finale, but the AI players make this 1000% more difficult. 1000% is definitely an understatement
Edit: What I learned from these runs is powering through the stages and try not become still. This will likely skip the horde encounters and force your AI players to respawn glitch closer to you. I have the physical copies when the games initially released, so I'm unsure if they patched that in the digital content. Nice play through!

As someone who goes through this game at least once a year on the expert difficulty this was hard to watch man. So many things you could have done to save yourself some sanity but hey you still did it so good on ya.

For the record, blood harvest hold out is extremely easy if you just stand out by the gate the truck crashes through. Wide open, nothing to sneak up behind you and the bots will snipe the enemies as they run across the huge open area

Man I played this game for so many years and this has just been such a great time seeing these
turns out in dead space hardcore mode u can save as often as u want. If u close the game after saving, it gives u 3 new saving opportunitys everytime... game doesn´t tell u :D but your videos 10/10 even if it is harder then i should be (dead eye)

I remember playing this back on release. The best way to finish Expert was to run as fast as you could, kill all A.I. survivors at the end so they respawn with more health. Then run again. The hardest parts were the hoard segments where you could not run, where you have to turtle. Although, the first L4D was broken as you could hit as many times as you wanted without a cool down. So you could just sit in a corner and got infected away whilst the A.I, aim not the hell out of all the specials. Each finale had a glitch spot/room too. I have fond memories of the No Mercy finale “Jesus Room”.

I felt your pain watching this, I finished this achievement a few days ago and blood harvest final made me wanna commit😂 the only reason I even passed and passed really early was because 2 people joined at the finale and we sat in the barn, if they haven’t joined I would’ve been on that mission longer, I’m happy you were able to complete this, good job

Ugh the sound of the witch crying gives me so many nostalgic memories. The terror I felt as a kid playing this and hearing that, knowing what was about to happen to me and my friends. For those who do not know, Bill from L4D is in a game called Dead by Daylight. They had a crossover, but for some reason the owners of the L4D license did not want to give any other characters but Bill. I wish the Witch was a playable killer in DBD, it would be so much fun.
If you press the left analog stick in, it gives you options to command the bots like "Stick together" and "Cover me" and stuff.

I spent 5 hours one night in high school trying to beat Death Toll on expert single-player and the furthest I got was the church before I rage quit and almost put my fist through my computer screen. My bots could not handle a tank and kept getting hit by boulders. Anybody that's gotten even the one campaign on expert achievement with bots has my utmost respect because goddamn I lost my mind playing for it

Hats off to you my friend, I did this back in the day with friends on the 360. I can’t remember the campaign name (the last one where your picked up from a farmhouse) anyway our tactic to survive was two of us crouch in front and bash and the two behind shoot , inside a cupboard so no zombie could come from behind. Well just as the pick up arrived my friend shot and downed all of us, after we had attempted it like 20 times… needless to say the friendship was tainted after that 😂
I'm shocked no one suggested hiding in the safe room during the constrution site. It was so OP that they had to block the path back in the L4D2 port.

The finale on No Mercy is not that hard on expert. All you need to do is hold out in the closet, if a tank comes run around the map and deal with him, once you deal with the final tank stay under the heli pad. *this can also be done without any teammates*
Man I’ve been playing this game since it released off and on for years, this game played a huge part in my childhood I remember getting on after school with all my dudes fast forward to now and I’m the only one out of my friends who still gets on Xbox, broke my heart that this game doesn’t have many players anymore

I actually did this solo with bots in both games.
The bots are actually pretty good at being sentry turrets provided you can keep all the zombies in front of them. They're fairly accurate and can see all zombies provided they aren't directly behind a wall.
As long as you inch forward and methodically clear out all mobs, it's fairly easy to do with bots.
Except Dark Carnival. That level can go #$$& itself because of the rollercoaster and just before the fourth safehouse.
This brought back some great memories of my friend and I playing L4D for hours on end. Thank you.
