    Back when I was a kid in school, I was afraid of asking questions. I had so many curiosities but no access to an expert or even sources of information. Sometimes when I asked questions, I was discouraged by the teachers. I think ChatGPT changes everything. Had it been while I was growing up, my entire life would've been different.

      Imagine how many young boys in the world don't know how to properly socialize or how to act around girls, because their dads never taught them how to. AI has a potential to educated children at a much younger age with all this. It can potentially fix a ton of societal issues.

    Satya, saying "prompt engineer" will be a new job, sounds nice.. But who the heck is gonna pay average workers to do that? They certainly aren't going to need as many people doing that, as will soon be displaced. Previous forms of AI and mere software-improvements had already automated away most career skills I originally went to school in the 00s for. Now these new forms of AI threaten the remaining careers I've been considering. No one has been able to explain to me how I'm supposed to survive, in the coming years, as this stuff keeps improving..
    People like me will eventually RIOT, if policymakers don't create something like an AI Dividend or UBI soon! They need to adapt society for what's coming! Not dismiss concerns by repeating the debunked "new jobs" claim, the status quo isn't gonna keep working! The more AI improves, the less our economic system makes sense, for the average person.

    • @williamorel
      @williamorel 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      "No one can explain to me how I'm supposed to survive, in the coming years, as this stuff keeps improving" If you are waiting for someone to explain to you how to survive, I'm sorry to say that you have a much bigger problem.

    • @GrumpDog
      @GrumpDog 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@williamorel If you aren't gonna acknowledge the implications of AI in all this, after the explanation and context I just gave, I almost feel like swearing at you. I'm just one of the early examples, I could list quite a few other people in similar situations, and this stuff WILL start impacting a lot more workers very soon. It seems you're implying everyone in their 40s needs to go back to school to learn entirely different skills. If so, how do they afford the cost and time for that? (hint: UBI) Also not everyone can become a nurse or trade-worker, and if everyone did those jobs, that would significantly devalue those roles. Who'd need a plumber when everyone has one in their family or a neighbor?
      So, what's your answer for what people should do, "as this stuff keeps improving"? How will the average worker compete for a livable income? As industries become fully automated by autonomous AI agents, why should a wealthy family get to own that forever, rather than the society that created it collectively owning automation? Make it make sense.

      We’re mostly already their it will just get bigger till a collapse and change happens mostly likely a war. Think about it now most of us don’t have money to afford most of stuff we got so we go into debt to become a slave to a lender. The generations have work twice as hard as the old ones to make the same pay. the middle class is being destroyed. Your rich or your a bum.

    • @jakejake7289
      @jakejake7289 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Your concerns are valid. Something I've been thinking about for a long time. I think the very concept of jobs, money and the economic model will change. Most people will not have traditional "jobs". Something like UBI will have to facilitate basic human needs to most people. I do think technology has the potential to usher in a golden era where the human misery index will gradually approach zero. That is, if we do the right things.

    The one thing you can guarantee in life is change... my 2 cents...
    The AI Revolution Age is here... like the car replacing the horse and buggy.
    Being able to critically think and discern truth is the key to navigating this brave new world.
    This tool will change how we do things and have it's own new set of challenging problems...
    (You can drive nails with a shovel, but is that what the tool was designed for?... properly applying is a necessity)
    Governments will now legislate and regulate the software industry like many other professions for a premium...
    (like Doctors, Lawyers, etc... see Uncle Bob for details...)

    The concept of a company for-profit (Microsoft) taking a chunk of the not-for-profit company (Open AI) and claiming it will help the humanity with AI is an oximoron.
    Not-for-profit companies develop clever solutions because they want to do it.
    MS develops somebody else's products because they want to make more money.
    If Satya is a genuine CEO excited with the OpenAI development (as he says), he should make a real executive decision and offer ChatGPT services for free, without charging a cent.
    In addition, he should also include Windows OS for free, just like the more superior Linux and OSX are.
    MS makes enough money from their Office365 and their cloud services, and should stick to this.
    Offering free OS and free tools like ChatGPT may really help students, young developers, and then maybe, just maybe, people will see MS as a real contributor, rather than a spoiler of the modern computer world.

      I suspect that is probably what's going to happen in the future, Whenever I buy a Laptop it's already pre-installed with Windows OS free of charge and I don't need to renew it every 1 year, Microsoft might still sell their windows OS system to us customers but it's probably for those who like to build their own PC tailored specifically to them, the trend of most consumers nowadays also changed, most of today's consumers prefer to be hassle free, meaning I don't want to be troubled by installing windows to my PC I would rather buy a computer/laptop with windows already installed on it free of charge and don't need to renew it (which where I live I didn't to renew Windows OS no matter how many times I've updated it as long as I use that PC/Laptop) or at least it might need reactivation if a new version that's at least 2 generations above the current one is out, But by that time most consumers would probably have used their laptop up that it's time for them to buy a new one altogether.
