Discovery Sport Tow Bar - How to Fit Towbar & Electics for Less than £200

- I show the fittings of both the towbar and the electrics on a Landrover discovery sport for a total cost of £175 (with another £20 for the optional protection plate).

Great informative video I've got mine to do when I get back from my holiday I have to say I'm not looking forward to taking all those 10 thousand bolts out to get the bumper off and then putting them all back in again. Tow bar part looks nice and straight forward as I've bought the exact same one. I just can't understand why land rover have made it a military opp to get a bumper off but there you go. I will have you to hand in 2 weeks time keeping me in line. Thank you

Thanks for sharing, I have a 2018 Ford focus with parking sensors. I assume I would need a dedicated kit to stop parking sensors going off when the trailer is connected? I cant seem to find any online! Any advice appreciated!
They will only go off when in reverse of course, so not much inconvenience. Usually the sensors will be either side of the tow bar so probably wont go off anyhow.

Did you run the cable for L indicator to L side light and run the R indicator in Right side of light?... or can you get both L&R cable in just one side of the rear light? Does it make sense??
See around time 31:20 the indicator wiring is all on that plug shown.
Hi Good video, can you help with a question if possible, None of my park sensors work on my rear bumper, I'm looking to see if its the connector come loose (bumper to Body) do you think i can get to it with just removing the inner wheel arch cover!. if its not the connector would you know where the parking module is as i looked at your video and couldn't see it, I'm thinking it maybe in the rear side panel on the same side of the connecter? any help would be greatly received, thanks
I would start by trying to trace the wiring from the sensors. The unit cant be far away. Maybe inside the boot in one of those side spaces in the corners, like where I found he fuse box shown in the video.

How did you get the brake lights to work? Mine aren’t working and I have the same kit as you. My indicators work
Mine worked straight off. Best get a multimeter and measure at the wiring and at the socket, then through your trailer. Search online for the wiring diagrams for the various tow sockets.

Is your car a 7 seater WITH a spare tire? My car is and I want to fit a tow bar but I have been told that I will need to. Modify/cut the rear bumper!?!?

Hello what year was this discovery? I'm fitting a tow bar on a 19 plate soon just doing some research before hand
It was done a while ago, somewhere around 2016 - 2018. Best to check with the tow bar supplier if it fits your exact model year.
If you order a tow bar like u have can u just take it to the garage for them to fit it, i dont fancy messing up my 27k car
I don’t see any problem with that but ask your garage. Personally I wouldn’t trust a garage more than myself. If it’s your car you can take lots of time to do it properly. In a garage time is money, so they are always tempted to cut corners to save time.
Why are you putting a by pass relay on a Discovery Sport. Just buy dedicated towing electrics as it's plug and play....job done.
Because those are more expensive. Sort of the point of DIY is saving money.
@@comeinhandynow I can certainly agree with saving money in terms of fitting it yourself, but on a car of any reasonable value, even when doing it yourself, it's worth putting the proper parts on rather than making wiring work.
Why is it so complicated!? I hope there is another product which is much simpler to install.
Complicated? I doubt you will get anything easier. It is not that hard, just has a few steps to carefully follow so that it looks good.
