    • @larrywilson2469
      @larrywilson2469 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      I did a lot of fasting and it helped me with the excess skin. Three day fast every two weeks and a 36 hour fast on the alternate week. If you’re OMAD a 36 hour fast is pretty easy when in ketosis. I still fast three days once a month for health and it seems to be tightening more skin.

      @BLKLND 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@larrywilson2469Ok thanks for your reply. I did a 72 hour fast some weeks ago and liked it a lot. Also thought I noticed some tighter skin after. I’ll consider a 3-5 day prolonged fast every month and a 36-48 hour fast once a week.

    61/2 weeks strict carnivore from standard American diet. Broke my back 19 years ago with multiple surgeries with last one being a failed fusion with hardware L3-S1. Constant bilateral pain, neuropathy down both legs, feet and in low back. Noticed immediate positive results by end of second day. Now off ALL meds and only localized pain in area of injury. I will never stop eating carnivore!

    My experience on carnivore is amazing. Quit junk food in June, started keto in July and went carnivore in september. Not very strict at first, but I noticed I feel and function best when I only consume beef, salt and water so really motivated now to keep this up. Did 2MAD for most of the days, but doing more and more OMAD with an occasional prolonged fast.
    I lost 81 lbs to date and I guess another 15-20 lbs will follow. Skin is clearing up (huge difference) and no longer suffer from depression.
    I am a litte worried about how tight my skin will be when I lose the last fat though.. I do not have saggy skin yet at the moment, but the skin around my belly and my sides certainly is a bit looser than it has been in the past. I don’t notice this anywhere else on the body though.

    Exactly. I just watched a "carnivore" video where sheused several different prepackaged highly processed foods to make her meal with. She takes "protein shakes" and uses several different standard processed condiments sauces etc. And advertises each product and the brand as she progresses through the video. It seemed like the Standard American diet with more meat added in. It went way BEYOND having coffee-even her COFFEE was made with adding packets of some powdered processed stuff to give it more flavor. ( I , personally think if you're going to ADD non-carnivore food to the diet things like a piece of fresh fruit or fresh vegetable in its natural state would be far healthier.)

    I really appreciate your approach of “listening to your body”, and how not everybody is the same. Some people do well with this, and others do well with that. But your experience with dealing with COVID is very much how my experience was. Sick for two days(January 2020), and then a week or two of recovery, then not sick for almost four years now. Our body is amazing and can heal itself, especially when we give it what it wants and needs. You, my friend, are a true doctor, as opposed to our wonderful “healthcare” industry. I honestly believe we could seriously benefit from learning from our dogs. They know what they need to be healthy…water, sun, excercise, walks, socializing, resting, stretching, and meat!!😊. I’m also interested in the spiritual aspect of carnivore. How does it align with the Bible and our relationship with our Creator. God bless!❤

    Out of curiosity I checked my dogs food ingredients, 10% fat, 21% protein, 55% carbs. It reflects the recommended human diet guidelines, even brown rice and lean meat. I cook and know brown rice has arsenic and should not be eaten daily. Is this why dogs have joint problems, I bet they suffer inflammation also. Americans love dogs and might listen to this.

      My dog got really sick in March and the vet said he only had a couple of weeks to live. I took him off the food I had been giving him and started him on grain free, still kibble and meat, but grain free. He's like a new dog with so much energy now and he's at least 13 years old. I'm not sure his exact age as he was from a rescue centre.

    • @kimberlyc.8667
      @kimberlyc.8667 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@JJ-sx2zgCommercial dog foods are a bit tricky. Vets get very little nutritional training just like human doctors and unfortunately the pets’ feeding guidelines are modeled after ours and of course marketed to the owners. I’m glad your dog is feeling better but I do urge you to thoroughly check the ingredients in the grain free food for potato starches or flours and legumes like peas and lentils. These are being linked to dilated cardiomyopathy in dogs. You basically have to cook or order raw meat pet food to feed your pets the way nature intended. Best luck with your furry friend. ❤

    I do drink coffee- and I am on carnivore, and I do not feel any soreness at all after a heavy workout session. I worked out for the first time in over five years, following a long break after a series of rotator cuff surgeries- (2014 through 2016). I was traveling on business and was at a hotel in China, and decided to use the gym and swimming pool and I went at it really hard, ordinarily I would’ve been sore for at least two or three days. But this time, nothing, I worked out similarly a couple of days later before leaving and again, no pain/soreness. I was drinking a lot of coffee during that trip, too, so it seems like coffee may affect some people that way and clearly, I’m a counter example or an example of somebody who it doesn’t affect that way. It’s kind of crazy that I don’t get sore anymore. I have been doing pretty strict ruminant animal only, though, I did eat a lot of duck eggs while I was out there… But otherwise it was all beef and lamb/mutton.

      I do stick to organic coffee, so Perhaps the soreness could be linked to pesticides commonly used in coffee plantations. Typically beans imported to the US are higher in life estate and other pesticides because we have a much higher allowable limits.

      @@chris7brook On occasion I will add butter to my coffee but I prefer it black I’m not big on adding fats or MCT oil. My feeding window is generally much later in the day, and I have my coffee early, and even though it’s that and doesn’t impact blood sugar/insulin significantly it’s still breaking the fast and I prefer to just keep my feeding window where it is.

      I love black coffee! I use 6 scoops fresh ground beans per 12 cups water. 😮
      But sadly, it does raise my blood sugar 10 points. Instead of 98 on the lab work it was 108. So I checked it at home several times and, yep, 10 points.
      So, I limit my coffee to one cup a day. I'm not telling you how big that cup is! I've quit totally in the past for months at a time and I've not noticed any difference except my finger stick values. I was keto at the time, maybe it would be different on carnivore. So many other improvements by just dropping that last 20 carbs!
      I'm not buying more when I run out this time. We'll try it and see if it helps with the chronic back pain!

    How are you gettibg Vitamin C and folate on this food plan?

    • @BigSlimyBlob
      @BigSlimyBlob 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Vitamin C is used to metabolize carbs and synthesize collagen. Obviously, if you're eating nothing but meat, you don't need to metabolize any carbs and you're already getting plenty of collagen in your food, so your vitamin C needs are minuscule. It's why, hundreds of years ago, sailors, desert explorers and arctic explorers knew that meat prevented and even cured scurvy.
      The biggest sources of B9 are animal products, and vitamins from animal sources are normally much more bioavailable than those from plant sources.
      Bottom line is, some people have eaten literally nothing but ribeyes for decades and have not suffered any deficiencies whatsoever.

    I’m carnivore for now, meat, but not only red meat, and I’m frustrated about the rigidity of carnivore advice which seems to be adamantly and unreasonably against plants. Obviously, after multi thousands of years of usage, plants do offer lots of health benefits, which can’t be denied scientifically. The toxins that are often cited are the reason plants offer some health benefits based through the action of hormesis. The subtle stresses that plants place on cells seem to strengthen those cells, obviously, with allergic people as an exception. Millions of people thrive on omnivore diets, they certainly do not need to change. (My carnivore is an experiment to change body composition, not to lose weight… )

What about all the different toxins? are some good at a certain levels and others @ a different level? are they in the right ratio? where is the cutoff when its a net negative? Of course you will never know, especially since every veg will be different and ALL the vegetables of today are completely different then the ones our ancestors would have rarely found in the wild.

    Malabsorption on a vegan diet needs to be addressed. No fat means no nutrient and vitamins.
    People claim vegetables have more vitamins. They don't understand even if it were accurate that won't matter if they can't absorb them.

      I have the same issue. One coffee a week no migraine, but more than five or six I'll get a migraine and be in bed for three days basically doing a water fast 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 I did a 21 day water fast years ago and then could drink coffee without a migraine for about a year.

    Please speak about the live in addiction recovery campuses that feed so much sugar and starches and carbs to their clients.
    Please start trying to reach out to them to explain the benefits of the carnivore and even ketovore and the positive impacts that they could be having with the clients.
    Mental illness goes hand in hand with addictions.
    And so many of the the treatment centers offer hardly if any healthy fats and very low meat proteins.
    Those poor folks are getting mostly sugars and grains and starchy carbs.
    Please enlist your viewers and patrons, as well as your fellow comrades in arms within the medical fields to take notice and to begin a campaign to start keto carnivore drug and alcohol treatment centers, or to convince existing centers to switch their menues.
    And it's a perfect opportunity to gain long term scientific evidence that supports the many benefits of the proper human diet.

    Question here: I've been doing dirty keto for a year plus now, attemping a 30 day prolonged fast ending December 30th. Can i break my fast by converting to a carnivore diet? Will i harm myself by making eggs and meat the first thing i reintroduce in my body?

    Do you ever get cravings for specific non meat foods? I am 5 1/2 months carnivore, and normally I will have cravings for dairy after an Occipital headache, but for the last two weeks I'm having cravings for two specific things.. Dave's Killer Everything bagels and their raisin cinnamon bread. Nothing stops the cravings, especially the dairy cravings after the headache (and it's vanilla bean ice cream to boot). How can I stop the cravings? Meat, fat, and bone broth aren't helping. Thanks all ❤

      To stop cravings remember all processed food contains MSG and most likely vegetable oil and glysophate sprayed wheat. Don't think of it as a bagel or icecream, think of the nasty ingredients. 😱

      Keto flu stops most people who aren't fat adapted. It's well worth it. At 52 my mind
      hasn't been this clear ever, I'm about 5 months in. I was already keto on and off for years
      so I didn't have to put up with keto flu. This is WAY different than "keto", it's unfortunate
      that most people will never get to experience this feeling. Once you become fat adapted
      it becomes effortless, sweet food doesn't even excite me anymore. Had high blood pressure
      for years even when in "good shape" from keto diets. In 1 month my average blood pressure
      dropped to 110's/60's. I stopped snoring in 2 weeks, even still being 50 lbs overweight.
      Yes, people get very upset when you tell them all you did was quit eating vegetables and
      most I'm sure don't even believe me. Their loss.

    I believe the most common definition of the carnivore diet is "animal products only, minor seasonings are acceptable". Coffee and tea are such a huge parts of so many cultures that they often get included, though personally I wouldn't accept them. They are not used to season meat, they are consumed on their own in water.

    Dr. Chaffee, thank you for all you do. On a side note, I think you are displaying your katana sword incorrectly. The blade edge should be facing up, this protects both the sheath and the sharpness of the blade. I'm by no means an expert, just what I've heard from several sword experts.
