I love how Bowie puts his own trademark on this song with his amazing and unique voice.. Vedder has that amazing baritone voice. Both voices complement them so wonderfully.
The Bowie portion of this clip had to be filmed prior to September 2008 (which is when Richard WRIGHT passed away). David’s cancer was diagnosed in 2014, 18 months before he died. So David wasn’t fighting his illness when this was filmed …

I think of it this way. In the 1970s my parents preferred their 50s music. I had no use for it then. Now its roots rock and I cannot get enough. But in 2020 a song like this one by the seminal band Pink Floyd no matter how thrilling, magic and life changing is 40 years old. I waa 21 in 1979, now 62. How did that happen?! That 40 year time difference would equate to my grandparents big band music of the 1940s. Really no use for it in the 1970s. Now find it very well put together with charts that include a full brass section not just one sax and full of the amazing energy of youth. Comfortably Numb speaks to my high times before there were consequences. I stopped using in 1979. The only other band I can think of that transmits near the same feeling about a high for me is The Cure. Peace.

We lost a great talent in David Bowie, RIP
Thank you!
A person is never dead until the ripples of their lives smooth away. Keep saying their names and passing on the torch. GNU BOWIE
Thank you for cutting this together. He took a masterpiece and three masters and made another masterpiece. Thank you.
Holy shit, that's fucking amazing.
Thank you!
Fan Komiksów it so is!!!!!

Sean Ellis tkn You!
keyser soze awesome!!!.flawless!!!
I totally agree!
The sudden death of David really shocked me. One of the most creative people ever. Here with Eddie: awesome!
For a minute you had me thinking David Gilmour had died and I didn’t know it, as I was reading your comment during the David Gilmour solo. Then I realized you meant David Bowie. Phew!
Bowie Pink Floyd quel hommage, une époque exceptionnelle, l'album, le film, c'était bien, merci quand on les a vu sur scène, il y a beaucoup de nostalgie.
Merci
I've said it before, and I will say it again: David Gilmour is one of the most underrated guitarists in rock. Excellent fan edit :)
You've said it, but don't do it any more. David Gilmour is not underrated. He is great. People who don't know that don't know music.
Rare talent
Word
I and many others think he is the best, Check out "The Gilmour Effect" on Ricke Beato's page.
Underrated?
This song just flattens me. Picks me back up and flattens me again. It's like a religious experience.
Anyone else feel this? - "When I was a child I had a fever, My hands felt just like two balloons" Gives me goosebumps remembering this as a child.
Always thought the lyric was swelt like two balloons 😂
Went to see David Gilmour in concert in Toronto for my 50th birthday. I felt more "The Child has grown, the dream is gone!"
@@mikeducas66 that’s awesome! I am completely jealous. Just to be clear… I am referring to an actual feeling as a child. I had a fever over 105deg and I literally felt like my hands were balloons. What’s even scarier is my grandmother insisted I sweat it out. Which thankfully I did. But yeah… the child is grown, the dream is gone. Comfortably numb man!
The actual word is tubaloons, which is small tuba that is shaped like a water bird. But it's a double play on words.
A song to bring you to your knees ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️ so incredible. Bowie and Vedder as brilliant as aleays, and Dave Gilmour's solo is sublime.
Poor Bowie wasn't ready for those bright lights to hit him in the face! He sure backs up fast. I sure miss Bowie. 4 icons! And this song has always hit my heart so bad. Love it. RIP Bowie.
I love it when artists get together and co create a different version from something by Pink Floyd did. Bowie and Vedder were perfect. It brought back memories.
Thanks I love you
@@Moviebox424 your welcome. Hows it going?
No words to say, my heart is crying for you mr. David Jones , I miss you so much. Best version best music!
Vedder brought it to a higher level. and then, David Gilmore said , " i got the ending son."
