This video always gives me the chills and makes me cry!!!!!! And I wont forget to talk about Bowie s ellegance on the stage and in his private life!!! On the stage he is so cool!!!!!!!! Will always love him!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m 74 years old about to turn 75 in May. I grew up with the Rolling Stones Beatles Led Zeppelin and all the original 50s and 60s groups. But at this stage of my life, I think Pink Floyd is my favorite group. I remember listening to Pink Floyd smoking a joint in college in the 60s. And then in the 70s and medical school but I gravitated towards different groups over time, but to me, Pink Floyd is the most intellectual band. Not to diminish the Talking Heads or the Beatles. This particular song with David Gilmour extraordinaire and David Bowie singing is one of my favorites. I also love to listen to the pigs and the dogs. Unbelievable. So this is my favorite song. comfortably numb. Because I know so many people that are so wealthy in Coconut Grove Florida where I’ve lived the last 45 years and they are comfortably numb. I often send them the song and then respond to me. What are you trying to say. And I say to them you’re comfortably numb that’s the problem.
My 6 yr old David says that David Bowie is still better than the other David from the pink band ......I ask him in what way I need a deeper explanation he answers me David Bowie closes his eyes when he sings at least in this song....Bowie sings it like if he wrote it.....I'm like ok ok.....I'm speechless at my 6 yr old explanation....I told him that everyone is different and that they are both gladiators at what they do!!!!! I hope that help my son David understand and start liking the other David.......cause I'm tired of listening David Bowie all day long......because of my 6 yr old....lol. thanks everyone for all your wonderful comments!!! Perhaps I should not share this with you but I'm afraid of fully discovering all of Bowie's songs...I don't know why I'm not trying to disrespect pink Floyd fans or value but I love Bowie!!!! I discovered him when covid hit me on 2020 my son discovered him through a kids cartoon movie I believe it was toy story or bus lighter...anyways again thnks for all your comments and cheers for the man that even at his deaths inspires us to live and to thrive on this world!!!
Yeah but I felt the opposite of Yr Son!!!. Cos Gilmor sings the tune right. Bowie Doesn't! Jesus. It showed him Up! But to be fair it isn't Bowies song. And Bowie is sublime at his own songs. But give me Gilmour for THIS song any day of the week.....

Bowie is such a class act. Performs flawlessly and then stands back to give others credit....RIP Ziggy...Also.....how can you possibly compare 99% of what passes for music these days, with the musicianship on this stage?? There is a reason that Dave has the 'God's guitarist' nickname and this is it....
Just incredible musice made by musical legends. David Bowie RIP. You were an amazing person. Just watching you step back when Mr Gilmour starts singing shows how humble and respectful you were. Some values sorely missed in today's world!!
I would love to have been there. I`m 54 now and was a total vinyl junkie, and it started with Pink Floyd. Eventually got into Bowie in the 80`s. I bought every vinyl they produced and up until today still put them on to go into their void. They are master of their own and deserve a lot of respect from my observation of their life's journey through music. I would have been.................COMFORTBLY NUMB!!!
Bowie's rising tones at the end of his phrasing really changes the dynamics of the song! I love it but it alters the meaning of the words and the feeling of the song so much! Incredible. Pink Floyd and David Bowie team up - what's not to love!
When I hear David Gilmore play the guitar, I feel the music flow through me and around me. He is so amazingly talented. The music gods sent him to us for our enjoyment.

Of course there are MANY that I’m very fond of, while others I can pretty much take or leave (i.e. maybe liking a few things they’ve done out of 100’s). My intention was NOT to give this as much credit as a lot of others did - for instance, the replies above this, which called this ‘otherworldly, musical triumph, getting goosebumps’, etc. I believe this is what prompted you to make the remark you did on mine.
We will never produce talent in the UK like this again . They came for a certain political and social climate that allowed great freedom to creative artists ...they were able to develop there incredible talent without outside pressure from social media and woke. There will be talent but not of this calibre . So glad I was there to experience it all in the beginning
That solo... Always takes me far away elsewhere, else when, and tells such a tale of sorrow and hope and pain and endurance. Just so beautiful.
Beautifully said.
Yes, THAT SOLO
Listen to it on lsd with headphones and that experience will stay with you forever. It gets even more beautiful. It got me out of a bad trip. And then Jefferson Airplane Embryonic Journey finshed the treatment like a nurse assuring you that you are going to died and you are going to be okay.
I suggest you watch the movie, another brick in )(the wall. I)t's not about what you think it is
@@hellwithit That solo can be interpreted any way the listener feels it and what it means and symbolises to them.
This is rock and Roll... the record companies never got it!
You know you made the greatest song of all time when David Bowie performs it on his own show.
David Gilmore is a legend. He makes that guitar sing. Goosebumps 40 years after hearing it for the first time
Why write so many people Gilmore in their comments instead of writing correctly GILMOUR. Americans I guess
Likewise. I’ve heard this song hundreds of times but always get goosebumps
Gilmour*
1:07 Can there be any doubt that the human voice is the greatest musical instrument?
I'm 75 also but God we may not have had much but we had the best music ever.
David Bowie may be the best guest vocalist to ever sing Roger's parts.
Well, he was bisexual.
@@onesong2001 ????????
@@dulcema.isanchezcruz6701 it's a joke. He sang "Roger's parts"
oh how I miss knowing David Bowie was still in this world. Pink Floyd concerts over the years too... longing for those days.
It's April 2024 miss you do david bowie ❤️ 💙 ♥️ 😢 💕 🎉🎉🎉
So am I ❤
We all miss him so so much.
We were the Blessed generation ❤❤❤❤❤
Two musical geniuses on one stage! How awesome that was....
This video always gives me the chills and makes me cry!!!!!! And I wont forget to talk about Bowie s ellegance on the stage and in his private life!!! On the stage he is so cool!!!!!!!! Will always love him!!!!!!!!!!!!
More than two...don't you forget about Mr. Wright, a more silent genius.
And I say to them you’re comfortably numb that’s the problem.
are you stealing my thoughts from my head?
Same here in So Cal OC, it’s the beach! Comfortably numb!
And they are in my head too!
2 absolute musical geniuses. it doesnt get better than this folks.
David Gilmour , David Bowie and Rick Wright ! Legendary moment 😀👍
David Gilmour forever
😂😂
Or Bowie sings it like he's looking down at the lyrics...
Thank god parents are still teaching their children.
….and then everyone clapped.
David Gilmour one of the best playing guitar in the world
Incredibly underrated.
Fabulous-David-trio: David Gilmour, David Bowie, David Crosby.
1:28 I was lucky enough to be in the crowd and it was a pretty amazing night. Official dvd release was recorded the same night. BOWIE appearing just adds a little bit more special to the occasion... Bowe was class and also a legend as David Gilmour ,,,, 2 fantastic musicians ❤❤❤
David Bowie was such a class act, and David Gilmour a legend in his time. Both absolutely brilliant musicians, great to see them together!
I love how when Bowie sings his part, it immediately sounds like this song has always been a Bowie song.
Whaaaaat?! Why am I just now hearing this masterpiece 🤯 ?
This is the greatest music of all time
Bowie is such a class act. Performs flawlessly and then stands back to give others credit....RIP Ziggy...Also.....how can you possibly compare 99% of what passes for music these days, with the musicianship on this stage?? There is a reason that Dave has the 'God's guitarist' nickname and this is it....
Well simple answer. You cannot compare at all. That music was completely a different league. The major one.
We always think of Gilmour as the guitar genius that he is, but he's also such a precise and wonderful singer.
There will never be such Astonishing performances without Bowie, Tina, Michael, David Wright, Marley, Jackson, Doors, Mr Cocker , Hendrix 😢
David belted this out like the day it was written. Beautiful.
Just incredible musice made by musical legends. David Bowie RIP. You were an amazing person. Just watching you step back when Mr Gilmour starts singing shows how humble and respectful you were. Some values sorely missed in today's world!!
Can't express how much I love this track perdormed by 2 absolute legends
Ur Right, Julia, Great Artist!! I'm 69 still Rock n Roll!!! Keep Rocking!!
Many legends onstage here. Let's not forget Rick Wright, for instance!
OH! I started collecting vinyls from the age of 6 😍😍😉😉
Stunning song with 2 wonderful artists. RIP David Bowie. You are very much missed. Love this video.
And Richard Wright too... Consummate pros and artists, all with such class.
David bowie just made it real...
This live performance is magical! Thanks David Gilmour and David Bowie
The man and his guitar, playing one of the rock's music anthems...what else?
Bowie's rising tones at the end of his phrasing really changes the dynamics of the song! I love it but it alters the meaning of the words and the feeling of the song so much! Incredible. Pink Floyd and David Bowie team up - what's not to love!
Bowie e Aranhas de Marte .
DB Class Act
This is the best version of that solo. Gilmour never repeats it, and on this day he was especially inspired.
David Bowie had so much charisma. He was wonderful in so many ways...Miss you Davy, always will.
God, how David Gilmour can make the guitar sing. Amazing.
Bloody hell David Gilmour together with David Bowie.Music can be very, very, very good sometimes.
When I hear David Gilmore play the guitar, I feel the music flow through me and around me. He is so amazingly talented. The music gods sent him to us for our enjoyment.
guilmour es mismamente un dios
Gilmour's voice does something to me. It breaks me down, I feel it deep in my heart as a physical sensation as if my heart is crying
man's voice was just intact
His voice is so clean and pure. An essence in and of itself. Nothing like it in this world.
Loved Bowie RIP but NO ONE can sing this quite like Gilmour....And Gilmour's guitar solo is LEGENDARY.....A MASTER
@ghost mall Especially since the experiences that generated the song's narrative were Roger Waters'.
This always brings me tears: 2 legends, one so deeply missed, this song, the place, the crowd, I just fall for it. 🙏
Three legends: RIP Rick Wright.
I know mate, it’s simply the greatest x
Lightning struck once, and this magical moment occurred.
Love the comments!! Hello from Nevada USA.. Definitely great stuff!
Keep fighting for your freedom!!
Great, simply great. - David Gilmour and our dear Mr. Bowie. ❤💔❤🔥
And Richard Wright
