I heard about these video statistics before and I was told before in one of the TH-cam guru's vid that the average amount of videos uploaded to reach 1 milliion subscribers is 3,373. U r saying 3,873. Did the statistic change?
This is actually really encouraging. I also saw a video today where Mr Beast said it took him 18 months to get his first 1000 subs and another 12 to reach 2000 subs. It's good to know that even the best performing creators started out slowly too

I came back to this video as my channel growth has slowed drastically over the past year. I'm 4 away from having 500 videos with 93,000 subscribers. I know there's nothing magical about 100K subscribers but it's such a HUGE milestone for me. I just keep reminding myself, slow progress is still progress.
I’ve watched this video a few times because it’s so motivating! You make videos because you love it and not for milestones but after a while you start to think people don’t enjoy your content as much as you or your channel slows down and it makes you feel discouraged. I come back to this video and instantly feel way better. Thank you for this.
AND I'd add this: the more constant you are, the more TH-cam "sees" that you're taking this whole thing seriously, and of course you'll get more and more help to grow. Besides, a channel with a lot of content will naturally and logically deliver more options to the viewer.

If you're famous somewhere else, of course you'll likely blow up on TH-cam faster -- *because you bring an audience with you*. Plus Nick made it crystal clear these are *averages* -- which means there's lots of *variation* , including unnaturally fast and unnaturally slow growers. It's clearly not Nick who fails to understand how algorithms work, sorry.

Believing in yourself doesn't mean anything, it's about content and I also Noticed most people who have a lot of Subs the videos they upload have 25% of views from them, so what I think people are doing is Subbing like Crazy and Not always watching.

Honestly one day all our hard work will pay off, all we can do is remain consistent and persistent when creating content but we must create content about things we truly love and want to share with people. I personally think the type of content makes a difference also. Doing something no one else does, will get you noticed faster because there's no to less competition there. Making gaming videos on stuff already covered sooner by better an bigger content creaters in an overcrowded category.. well the odds are slim to none at getting noticed. Just my opinion
Right now I'm finding it harder for the subscriber count I am about 7 months in at one video per week total of 30 video's got me 104 subscribers. Very happy to reach that goal and puts me at 10.4% of 1000 subscribers. Now my view hours is at 603.5 in the same amount of time and that puts me at 15.1% of 4000 total hours watched in one year period. 13 of my videos are over 100 views 3 are over 1000 2 over 2000 and one over 3000 views. I believe any one can do this but they just have to keep pushing don't give up if you want it Rome wasn't built in a day and thats a fact. Another thing I'd like to add is you shouldn't worry about your view count on your videos right away I've had videos that weren't doing well for 5 weeks and now it's my strongest video.
@@bsquad011 you gotta put quality over quantity. Think the video through, get yourself on the spot where you WANT to watch YOUR OWN video. If you just press upload without thinking it through, without caring about the end result, you won't get much interaction. Something I found to be really useful is that you want to watch the videos you made.

Great video Nick! I love it. People don't understand also that over 113-114 Million TH-cam channels, less than 10% have over 1K subscribers or, there are about 10 million channels with 1K subs. However, there are 28 million channels with 100 subs. Over half of YTC's have under 10 subs. Point is, don't give up and keep posting long and short videos.
I've realized that one video, only one video can blow up your Chanel. When everything looks dismal for you, keep creating content great ones off course, your time will come.
This was really insightful and filled me with a lot of hope. I've been struggling with worrying about numbers lately on my channel and other things which is not a good thing. I appreciate so much that you shared this video. Here is hoping one day soon I'll have that 100,000 subscribers!

Consistency on uploading videos and sticking to your niche is the key and yes I agree with Nick, by uploading videos you developed and you can know what the viewers like to watch on your channel.
It would be so interesting to get more of a breakdown for these figures by different types of content. For example, how does it change if you take out gaming videos? I can imagine they take more videos to get subscribers, but they are also much easier to churn out than videos in the education field that often require a lot of research and scripting (my field), but might gain a following with a smaller output.
James Ker-Lindsay have you ever made a gaming video? Certainly not as easy to churn out as you may think. Sure, you can record some gameplay and uploaded...no cam, no mic, no keyframing, no other post production additions. But a majority of those types of channels often times may never get to said milestones. The gaming channels that do are the ones who plan, just as you mentioned. Research, a bit of scripting, and a ton of tech involved to produce content at not only a fast rate, but with quality in mind as well.
Don't pay too much attentionto this. It all depends. You can upload a video a day, and when you get to 100 videos, you'll get maybe 200 subs. There's no way to meassure the amount of subs with the amount of videos.
Wow! This advice came at just the right time when I was getting discouraged, not even having 100 subs yet. The thought of 4K hours seems so daunting. I mentioned you in one of my videos as being a voice for new TH-cam creators to not give up! This confirms it once again. Thanks Nick!

I remember some lady said that a lot of people are focused on growing the number of subscribers but don’t have enough content posted. if you don’t have enough content for people to discover who you are and actually see if they should sub or not the numbers won’t really move. Consistently is how you get the number to grow. With consistency comes more uploads in my eyes

I'm stuck at 44 video with 390 subs. It's especially tough with gaming channels as it's a niche that's really oversaturated so you need to be creative and unique.
My first videos sucked. My current videos... also suck, but suck less. I’m at 182 uploads, 3335 subs, and 425,000 views. So pretty much exactly what you said in this video :) I’m just here to try and help people learn and change the world - so I’ll keep making videos and keep trying to improve. It would be so interesting to get more of a breakdown for these figures by different types of content. For example, how does it change if you take out gaming videos? I can imagine they take more videos to get subscribers, but they are also much easier to churn out than videos in the education field that often require a lot of research and scripting (my field), but might gain a following with a smaller output.
James Ker-Lindsay have you ever made a gaming video? Certainly not as easy to churn out as you may think. Sure, you can record some gameplay and uploaded...no cam, no mic, no keyframing, no other post production additions. But a majority of those types of channels often times may never get to said milestones. The gaming channels that do are the ones who plan, just as you mentioned. Research, a bit of scripting, and a ton of tech involved to produce content at not only a fast rate, but with quality in mind as well.
These numbers have managed to be uplifting and distressing all at the same time 🤦🏾♀️ 😆

Don't pay too much attentionto this. It all depends. You can upload a video a day, and when you get to 100 videos, you'll get maybe 200 subs. There's no way to meassure the amount of subs with the amount of videos.
Andrés Rojas you may be right. Sometimes I have no clue what I’m doing or what I need to do to gain more subbies. I feel like I’m out of options here.

I remember some lady said that a lot of people are focused on growing the number of subscribers but don’t have enough content posted. if you don’t have enough content for people to discover who you are and actually see if they should sub or not the numbers won’t really move. Consistently is how you get the number to grow. With consistency comes more uploads in my eyes

Neat video. But it would probably be better to differentiate channels by categories, such as gaming, vlogs, science, etc.
So many genres on TH-cam, that would be a 4 day video.

I'm stuck at 44 video with 390 subs. It's especially tough with gaming channels as it's a niche that's really oversaturated so you need to be creative and unique.
