I just wanna say that you're my role model. I recommended all my friends listen to ur podcast because everyone who hears my English asks me how I improved my language to this level. Actually, I've been listening to u for three years. Thank u from the bottom of my heart
Hi Luke, I just want to thank you for all you do for us learners, I simply adore listen to your podcasts, I enjoy it so much and in the mean time I learn a lot, so a big thank you truly from the bottom of my heart. ❤️
A great idea to add some sounds/effects to the story. It really helped me immerse myself in the narrative, especially when I listened to it. Additionally, the list of vocabulary with short explanations on your website is incredibly useful! Thank you, Luke
Luke, thank you for the wonderful story, which has elements of entertainment and education, as always🙂. How to interpret the ending of the story? Optimist's version: In romantic stories with a happy ending, explosions accompany the lovers' kisses. Moderate optimist's version😉: In the real world, conflict persists and explosions signify a war, which Edward had no idea about in the Simulation.
Thank you Luke for your way you teach us English. A lot a new words in your story. The explanation are so clear. Your voice is also nice and clear. Thanks also from translating the text in large format. Stories like these are actually very good material to learn English. All the best to you and your family.
Hi Luke, a big thank you for your videos I always switch the speed for 0.75 and repeat after you as I really want to develop the British accent. At the moment I’m learning how to fix my accent with help of another Luke Nicholson, so both Lukes are helping me, thank you guys.
Thank you for your podcast! I’m so happy I found your channel. I’ve been looking for ways to improve my English with books, but more advanced texts are difficult for me because of the new vocabulary. It can be tiring to constantly look up meanings. Your channel and teaching method are a great way to learn English.
Hi Luke , I am from Hong Kong, a place in Asia. I have been watching your videos and listening podcast episodes for the purpose of learning English. This short story is very interesting, a good articles to increase my vocabulary. Thanks for making this video.
A very great lesson to improve my English in France. Thank you To respond your question at the end, I think he is opening the Pandora's box with all troubles, war, diseases etc which came out
Hello Teacher Luke, I really enjoyed this episode and the story it featured. The vocabulary and structure were fantastic! But I do want to share my perspective on the idea of simulation. Personally, I find it a bit absurd, lacking any solid scientific or logical foundation. We live in a tangible reality, where we can touch, see, and feel the world around us. Our existence, emotions, and even our souls are all part of this real world. This soul, for me, is the essence of life, the driving force behind our decisions. Without it, life would cease to exist. I think the questions you posed at the end of the story really highlight that we live in a reality we control, not a simulation. It's a reality shaped by our minds, hearts, and souls. Thank you so much for your insightful lessons, Teacher Luke! You're truly an exceptional and innovative teacher, a real pioneer in English language learning. I always learn so much from your content. I appreciate your willingness to explore different perspectives like this one. Thanks again!🌻
I loved your story, the poetic words, the intriguing situation and the open end, where the reader can choose the final picture. I follow you since long ago, and I think that I have learnt a lot from you. I met Christian Sounders after you interviewed him and also Matt. We were waiting for you at the last English retreat in Gran Canaria. I was recently in Paris, I wanted to meet you but I didn't know how to do it. Greetings from Chile
In my opinion, it was a salute to the end of this story. I personally really like Conan Doyle's stories in your performance. But thank you very much for your such useful work in learning English for people from all over the world.🌍👏
Hi Luke and thank you very much for this interesting story and your wonderful explanations. I enjoy your podcasts. I never know when you are in live... I hope one day by chance i could listen to you in live! Best regards.
Hi, Luke! Your perfect English inspires me to move forward, continue learning things. What I really lack is real life communication in English. If you know where I can have this practice, please, tell me, I will be very greatful. ❤
Thank you for video,Luke.Your podcasts are very helpful.I would love to come and watch your show, that would be great. I hope I get the chance to watch you in Paris one day.
Thank you teacher Luke for beautiful short story,I kind of understood the story, even my English is not in high level.always learning a lot from your English teaching, thank you a lot.
Hi Luke, I really love this story! I enjoyed every moment of your presentation even though I'm normally not a science fiction fan. I was quite surprised to hear that it was mostly written by AI and would like to know more about the changings you've made. I also ignored that AI could create such a poetic language. For me the story is perfect as it is now, with the final sentence you added. The open end leaves the possibility to each listener to have his own interpretation. That's probably the reason why a lot of people might love it.
You are the best English teacher I have ever heard thank you very much for such a wonderful lesson l have been learning from you a lot. Mat God bless you and your family ❤❤❤
I have been living in America for 33 years but l am still listening your lessons and continuing studying from you. I'm watching you for the first time and I loved the story! I didn't expect that you'd wrote it. The AI kinda wrote it, but you've improved it and gave it the human feeling :) New subscriber 🤓
Great story, very well acted out by an experienced reader.thanks for your thorough explanations to fully get te story. Julio, retied teacher from Dolores.Argentina.
Hello Luck.the way you visualize the stories awakens all features of my sences in a manner feeling deeply understand in everything so I had been an English man or what so ever in previous life 😂❤
THANKS ! The way you read it is just perfect ! The effects also, but unfortuntlly for you, there is only this our life, but we are not smart enought to understand it ! may be we miss some facts ! with social media we trart to descover others lifes, which helps as to understand ours, it had been a lot of lies and manipulation, we were used to serve somme individuals / communauties interests, we start to see that actuelly, and life becomes more reel !
This story is at a very high level of English for advanced students. As an ESL teacher, I have learned not to overload students with too many words. Also out of the thousands of English words, choose words which are useful everyday. For example, when would an English speaker use the word “stir” in the sense move? Rarely! The story you have chosen is literary and highly descriptive this predominantly uses words which are not of a high frequency in everyday English. Stories are a great way to learn English but please choose a lower level vocabulary of common useful 42:32 words. For example “a sprawling metropolis” is not going to be heard or spoken by a student learning English unless they are aiming at a university level.
I am familiar with the principles you are talking about and as an English teacher this always factors into my teaching in classrooms. With these episodes I am doing something slightly different. Allowing learners of English to enjoy and also understand a piece of literature read out orally. There is also a place for this in people’s English learning. Variety and a multi-stranded approach to language learning and teaching covers many bases. Also, with your comment you’re assuming that every learner is at an intermediate level and that vocabulary beyond the most common words is not useful, interesting or worth learning. The story is quite literary but this is because it is a piece of literature. I also do plenty of episodes with more conversational spoken English.
Teacher Luke , the ending story was beautiful,I understood the whole story, when I write comments it’s hard for me in writing anyway you are great English teacher.
Hi luke. Thanks for your efforts and good luck for your forecoming evening. Open finals are just open. It' s up to you to give a sense to them. They change with your mood of the moment. You read the story many times and you give the final a sense according to your changing mind. Endless meanings for endless new outcomings from your continuing changing thouths. An explosion of new finals Bye, bbyyee bbbyyyee
Hello, I'm just a Brazilian guy, who wants to take the IELTS test, to try to study in Canada. I found her channel in the description of another channel, the girl seemed very happy, and she said she had listened to more than 10,000 minutes of her podcasts, in order to improve listening.
Thank you very much for the master class you've just given us! You're AWEsome. The title of the story reminded me of an American film about a man who had been raised as the protagonist of a huge reality show, I can't remember if it was called the truman show... As regards vocabulary, I had forgotten the meaning of delve and hurtle. Nor did I remember how to pronounce the past of leap. You asked us which parts of the story were created by AI and which parts by you. I think you added words to convey feelings, adjectives that helped to create a perfect or more real atmosphere. Also, you may have added the kiss. I am romantic so I thought the explosions were not literal but a result of the protagonists' kiss and love! But, they may very well mean the start of a war. I enjoyed the story. Thank you very much. You're a GREAT teacher.🎉🎉🎉
Interesting story,Teacher Luke,I feel so blessed to find teachers like you,I learned a lot,I’have listen to your podcast mostly everyday,I get confused ,you have different, different voice , still I don’t know who real Luke is?anyway ,you open my eyes in different ways, thank you a lot,you are awesome.

Once again, congratulations for your great ability to communicate. I am waiting for your response, thank you 1 million for your dedication

What does the last line of the story mean to you?
I agree with the emotional explosion between them
The whole human being's histroy beginns from the explosion? The big bang theory?
