Another compelling episode from Luke's English Podcast! Thank you so much for all the work you put into these episodes. I can feel your passion all the way over here, on the other side of the screen, in Québec (Canada). As for the snowman… maybe it was built by a kind of wild 'Daniel Boone' who enjoys scaring people. He lives alone in a small shack hidden in the woods. But from time to time, he likes to feel alive by annoying the rich folks who can afford to stay at remote mountain cabin. ;-)
I really like listening to your clear British accent when you are reading stories.. your channel helps me a lot to improve my English language.. please post more stories.. I really enjoy listening to you... Thank you very much Luke
I've really learned so many new words and expressions in this lesson And your explanations are so clear and with lots of examples they are easy to understand. Thank you for your amazing work!!
Okay, I fairly feel compelled to let you know that the story itself is worth nothing without your performance. I get everything you say in whatever video of yours. I don't need to listen to RP too much, especially to the well-articulated speech. I got every thing about the story. I didn't remember the meaning of only one word throughout the whole tale which I would be able to guess or google in a matter of seconds. I nearly missed the story, so concise it was, and immediately fell asleep after it. When I woke up, you were somewhere in the middle of explaining things. To everyone's surprise, I got back to the point where I snoozed out to listen to the explanation I had slept through even though I didn't need it. If I were you I would consider this a huge success. I like how descriptive and expository you are in these short story vids and am quite impressed by the number of parallel wordings you are able to suggest for the notions you explain. It's just fun to listen to you explaining things. Sometimes it could be educational, like Dan Brown using ghostwriters for The Da Vinci Code (which explains a lot, lol), sometimes it is something cultural. So it wasn't quite useless for me. The thing is, it would be a challenge for most youtubers to get me involved at all, first and foremost. As for the story itself. Why he, not she? What a biased sexist you are! Let me explain. A female writer goes to a remote cabin for a couple of weeks. Her boyfriend gets bored alone and decides he needs to bring a little romance into their relationship. He hides in the forest and makes a cute snowman, like Phil made an ice angel for Rita in Groundhog Day, to impress his love and suggest a nice little roleplay for them. But she gets frightened and spoils the whole thing leaving the next day. What a pity! So sad! I cried... Btw, to the sexism, I've been always curious why is it a snowMAN? Once in my happier and younger days, my friends and I made a snowperson who was definitely a MAN (with the three carefully cast snow details at the front part of HIM) so that in the morning (it was а New Year's Eve) the mom of one of them, who had been back home after celebrating with her friends, asked us to "dismantle this disgrace" because the neighbors were about to wake up.
Hello, Luke! Thank you for your positivity and engaging teaching. Today, I was really surprised when I noticed a woman next to me on the subway watching your video podcast on TH-cam. It happened in Kyiv’s metro, Ukrainе
I think you are a truly unforgettable teacher. This story was a great Christmas gift for us. Thank you Luke teacher.🎉🎉🎉.My dream is to have a coffee and chat with you in Paris one day.
I am so happy to find this amazing teacher. My husband is an english man, I am russian, and we are living in Australia. We have a very warm Christmas here 🌞😁
Hey Luke, I was so happy and curious as you said at the beginning that this would be another story episode. Well, I love all of your episodes but these one's the most. I think this was not a true or real story, but very interesting because no one knows what excactly happens and everyone can interpret the story in their own way. Actually my first thoughts were the same as your daughter's, it was the snowman itself. Like the greepy snowman after the story 😂 you got me. But logically it couldn't have been the snowman. A really well written and exciting story althoug little happens. I like the mood it created. Thanks for explaining lots of vocab. I enjoyed listening to you, reading this story with your warm an deep voice, such a pleasure! Best regards!
Teacher Luke,,this story for me,I think made up by you,it was really fun to listen to you,the way you explain is so amazing, you are great English teacher, looking forward to new episodes, plz keep uploading new video,I love your English teacher.
The story is very interesting, not only the plot but also the words and phrases used in the story, but the most impressive thing is the way you tell and interpret the story.By the way, don’t “look for” your keys, your keys are always on your door, and I want to know why you always (almost every episodes)“leave your keys on your door”.😊
Hi Luke, I really like the story and your explanation in particular. I’m not a big fan of creepy stories, but this one is nice. I’d say that the main character is tired and burned out that’s why they exaggerate. I guess that adventure is a sign for them to change their direction in their life and give up being a ghost writer. Their brain reflects on their experience and ends up in a nightmare
The Iceman in December only lives in the Northern Hemisphere. I live in the South HM... But your stories are good to start understand this dificult language... Thanks any way
hello Luke, i'm a college student from china and your sincere audience too. I'm extremly like your channel, it improve my listenning ability but i am also confused about my writing ablility. you know in china we use chinese so that i can't practice my writing and listenning. i don't know how to think in english. when i want to write or say something i always use chinese and translate to english, how can i fix this? By the way, you are the best english theacher i have ever seen. I will stay tuned to your channel!! A thanks from your sincere fan.
❤ there is no way to know who made the snowman or its own being sentient: it was a mere content of a short story. You have to take it like it is. All options are good 🎉 thanks for the massive podcast ❤ take care and carry on
Another great episode. Thanks a million. SNOWMAN. Nice and a little creepy story. I think there is no way to know who made the snowman. It will remain as a mistery. The most important news in this podcast to me is about Dan Brown who is using ghostwriters. I didn't know THE FACT. Dear Luke, I am following your poscasts for 1 months but I listened to the previous ones backto 890. In my opinion the most educational ones are short stories. I don't know what other listeners' opinions but my choice is short stories. By the way I believe you are speaking slower than usual. Is this your teaching mode 😊 speaking or after many years is this your normal? Thanks again. I will keep on following you. Bye bye boy boy 😊
🤗Thank you for uploading a new Short Story episode and for all of the vocabulary that you've taught us. I really enjoyed it😀! I've listened to half of the episode today and, I'm going to listen the rest of it tomorrow. EDIT: I've listened to the whole episode. Really interesting and useful for our English. And, my thoughts are that this is a made up story. But if it's not maybe there was someone, maybe his enemy 😂 who was trying to scare him and traumatize him to make his life horrible. I don't know 🤷🏻♀️. Anyway...Luke, I can't really tell you how grateful I am for what you do, for your work and your Podcast🌟. I listen with pleasure, and I enjoy each and every episode of your Podcast💯. God bless you😇! I wanted to tell you something. Christmas is just around the corner, and I was wondering if you could please do a Christmas episode😁🎄!? Ps: Your daughter is already nearly 7 years old? 😱 God, time flies.
Hi international teacher. I'm a huge fan of your channel from IRAN. I am looking forward to hearing your stories. Please read to catch a king by Charles Spencer Thank you 🎉🎉
Thankyou very much for another good short story I really like your way of reading the stories In my view no one even can stand in the heavy snow to make a snowman It’s a creepy story and it must be a haunted snowman wjo was freaking out the writer like a horror movie

Someone built it. why? That's the question I'm not sure want to know 😅
I have a somewhat pragmatic theory. Maybe there was an overbooking, and the owner needed the cabin to be vacated before check-out time)
😂 Do you run an AirBnB by any chance?
That’s my best technique)))

Your work is amazing!
Your idea of teaching English with short stories is excellent. And you teach magnificently. I dare say you are the best.
No need for Charles III to knight you. You are already Sir Luke to your listeners

Merry Chistmas Luke, and thank you for a beatiful year in "your company". Your voice has been present along this year in so many good moments!

Fabulous! Loved the story, loved the vocab and the way you explain it. Thank you, Luke!

Thank you please make more story video ❤❤❤
Merry Christmas and happy new year ❤❤❤🎉 from China~

I leave the keys in the door so I never lock myself out of the room. I always see the keys when I open the door, and put them in my pocket.
Thanks my best teacher Luke I like your podcast and I got confidence to talk the people and I have accident British I appreciate ❤

If snowman only throw snowball whitout show himsel,it must be shy personality who wants play and enjoy 😅.Its not scary personslity.
When will I'm able speaking like that? 😂😂
When will I be able to speak like that?
It is surely a scary story, but I don't think it is real.
I thought I heard it when I was younger age...just play with children and say "Guess who?"
I wouldn't stay in a remote cabin alone. It's uncomfortable and depressing.
It looks like it was part of someone's plan to scare the guy.
I understand now why people learning English add in the word uh 😂😂
Mr.Luke,s l need a device how to learning English especially l,m Arab girl and I feel Frustrated
Why do you think the Snowman is not a Snowwoman?
