Musician here - Most of my colleagues, myself included, own a 12.9 iPad pro for reading music, instead of paper sheet music. We exclusively use iPads instead of other tablets because the software we use, called ForeScore, is apple exclusive, and the 12.9" because it has to be big enough to read off of a music stand. I would love more than anything to have a large non-pro iPad, it's completely insane that the majority of the music industry owns these incredibly powerful machines just to read PDFs on a big screen. Also, Marques, we went to high school together, go cougars.

Another muso here. My current 12.9 iPad almost died on me the other day and left me contemplating a new iPad. I was absolutely gutted to find out that Apple would try to box me into getting their most expensive tablet option just because of screen size. Ridiculous. I don’t need an M2 chip to read pdf’s of sheet music.

Yea but think to purchase a iPad Pro 12.9 with apple pencil and Smart Keyboard and 2TB SSD (to replace a laptop) is £3,017.00 and that just the Wifi only version.

I think the small improvements are just for those that just happen to buy a new tablet this year and are not meant to encourage you to upgrade from the previous ipad. Even for iphones I think only a small percentage upgrate every year when the new Gen comes out but for tablet users this number is probably still a alot smaller.

I had the normal ipad 2020 and as an artist I work with a lot of layers, up to 200 sometimes. But at like 70 layers I had to stop and switch to the PC because it wasn't powerful enough. This is why I wanted to upgrade to an ipad pro. And didn't want to risk it with the M1 one, because My drawings keep getting more complicated the better I get, so I waited for the M2 one and till now I haven't had any problems. I was able to finish my drawings on my new ipad and the big screen was also a great improvement compared to before:)

@@antman7673 , my 2017 iPad Pro (A10X) was a serious workhorse but when the loop of death happned and Apple didnt take responsibility for it considering its was a design flaw, I started looking for alternatives because that was $1200 down the drain with only 5 months use. Recently, I gave the iPad Pro M1, Surface Pro and Samsung S8 a reasonable amount of time testing with various apps. At first the first drawback from me not getting a Windows or Android tablet was the lack of Procreate and its new 3D painting feature but then I heard about Nomad Sculpt and the S8 got my pick. The S8 is just simply more comfortable and the pen feels more like an actual ink pen than the clunky iPad Pencil. Plus, the pen COMES WITH the S8 so its a complete package, unlike the iPad "Pro". My friend who is a tattoos artist also stated the S-Pen was a clear winner for her when she tried my older Samsung S6 that i got a quick fix while shopping for a more pro-level alternative. She mentioned that when she purchased her 2018 iPad Pro for drawing that she was blown away that the iPad Pro wasn't really "Pro" until she purchased the Apple Pencil, at least in her scenario and likely many others who are artist.

I have had the pleasure of owning an iPad Pro 10.5, 256gb with an A10x chip since 2017 and I average 4 hours a day screen time. I originally paid $500 for the 2017 iPad Pro and in my book, this was a very good investment and provided untold hours of productivity and pleasure. I just ordered a 4th generation iPad Pro 11, 256 gb M2, from Costco for $819. This was nearly $300 cheaper than the Apple Store. Each person has to look at the cost benefit analysis and buy what they need/want and can afford. You can’t go wrong with an iPad if you are going to use a tablet.

I feel like this new iPad is meant for artists ( but it does 100 other things for sure like gaming and editing ). Pro artists now would use this new iPad pro or the older pro for painting, animating, using it as a secondary or primary monitor when drawing. It has a great screen, great colors, and great many things. The only downside compared to the pro Wacom tablets is that iPads are technically small. Wacom tablets have massive screens.

Paradoxically you like most of TH-cam tech reviewers only see the iPad as any other device from the perspective of video/image editing because that’s mostly what you do. People use 12,9 iPad in other industries mostly because it’s got the biggest screen and is the most reliable tablet. Since I work with classical music a lot of professional pianists use it, because it’s the only thing big enough for scores. My crew for example runs opera shows from iPads. A big iPad is the most useful device a person dealing with sheet music can buy. You seem to think that pro = best for video editing when it’s probably just a niche use for most iPad Pro users.

The iPad M1 and M2 version are serious overkill in processing power for a tablet and even a laptop so your investment was wise. Unfortunately, many buy the iPad Pro and then "upgrade" within a year or two and that not an investment in my opinion because they should have just went with standard iPad considering they likely will never need its processing power, let alone the Pro version. I just got a 2018 iPad Pro 12.9 for sheet music (I’m a music student in college) and it’s phenomenal. I can take all my notes for other classes, it handles games easily, and batter life is good. It’s like $400 cheaper (I found mine i for $500nwith 512gb). I’m glad ppl are realizing how capable these machines are and I hope apple gives us a way to harness the power they’ve released in the m1 and now m2 chips.

I mean I got the 12.9 inch iPad Pro for only 1000 US dollar (here in Sweden it the 12,9 inch 128 gb starts at 1700 USD) and its condition is new with no sign of use. I also got the Magic Keyboard for 400 usd. and for me getting a laptop+iPad combo, a 2 in 1 device for that price is amazing since the base m2 matchbook air 13 inch starts at 1500 usd.
I study business in collage so I mostly just takes notes and dont need the computer software. the iPad Pro is amazing if you are in the same situation as me.

as an iPad Air user who has been a really long time wanting iPad, I can very relate to this because of the limitation of iPadOS.
for context, I do the iPad for drawing and as I use my iPad more, I feel like iPad is really good for drawing, note-taking, reading, and a media-consuming device rather than a laptop/pc replacement. if you using it for writing on word or other Microsoft office things, okay it can still catch up. but for working on video editing, or other stuff, I don't think an iPad is a device for that.

For me,, buying current M2 Pro came from upgrading out of my older first gen 2016 Pro. While it still works and runs Procreate fine enough, it had started to chug just a bit while running Clip Studio; not to mention running either of those apps had by now started to tank the battery so I couldn't get a longer drawing session than about 2 hours before it needed to get plugged in. Thus as a very rare splurge, I finally decided to just pull the trigger and upgrade while figuring that if I am going to do it now, i'll go all in. Whatever big jumps will happen right after, well, they'll happen - so be it.

The hover feature was implemented on Google devices almost a decade ago, so the benefit is lame. I could do everything I needed with an instant on, always connected tablet that was 1/4 the weight and size of my laptop. Plus it was far less intimidating to sit with a client or customer and take notes with a pen on my screen than to sit there and click clack away on a laptop keyboard. All that said. Jesus Christ is the propitiation for the whole world's sins. They that believeth and are baptized (with the Holy Spirit) shall be saved; but they that believeth not shall be damned. Those led by the Holy Spirit do not abide in wickedness. 👍🏾
*God is ONE manifesting himself as THREE;* the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit! Bless him! *For these three are one.*
As I am led by the Holy Spirit, nothing I state is a lie, but the truth of God. Anyone who tells you differently is misinformed or a liar. They do not know God, nor led by him.
Anyone who *claims* to be a Christian and is against what I am doing, and where I am doing it; the Holy Spirit does not dwell within them, they lack understanding.
