    Makita has overly conservative protections built into their tools, because of this the tools will cut out long before they are overloaded. This is just one of the reasons that they generally outlast other brands.
    If I ever need to drive a lag bolts or anything else that is going to need that much power I’ll use my Makita XGD01, without a doubt it would get the job done without damaging the tool or myself and currently the only tool in its class that beats it it Makita’s 40 Volt version.

    While I appreciate you assembling all these drills for a video I do have a number of concerns:
    1) Momentary peak torque is not as valuable as sustainable working torque. As a professional I use my tools for repeated work which is where premium tools keep their cool and don't overheat or lose steam.
    2) The capacity of the battery is going to impact power and this is dyno proven. To minimize variance they should all be tested to a common standard (5 amp hr.)
    3) Some manufacturers bias gearing for speed or torque on setting 1. To get the full picture you need to see how they do in other settings and make three runs averaged to avoid any outliers. You want a balance between speed and torque. A 6.7 litre Cummins diesel makes boatloads of torque but I wouldn't want it in a Mustang.
    I think the "Torque Test Channel" and "Project Farm" have more scientific and holistic tests which better understand the tool user needs. Ultimately, I don't think the peak momentary torque you measured really translates to real world performance on the job site.
    In summary- great job getting all these tools together, but more work needs to be done on testing design and eliminating variables.
    P.S. Your audio will sound much better with a standard collar mic and adjusted levels. Your wireless headset is good if you're in a pit crew or flying, but kills too much of the natural sound otherwise.

    • @ToolswithSoAlz
      @ToolswithSoAlz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good bye.
      Also, Skippy, the test actually came from Project Farm so that part of your argument is ridiculous. Also, TTC has been testing drills for two weeks and confirmed these numbers within 10%. The biggest difference between what I am doing and what they do is I only need a minute or less. You just like pretty colors to look at to entertain you and pretend it's holistic data. Kind of like watching Sesame Street

    • @afellowinnewengland6142
      @afellowinnewengland6142 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@ToolswithSoAlz Good grief. I try to offer constructive feedback and you respond like a teenager with hurt feelings and personal attacks. Yes, Project farm is far more HOLISTIC in the tests. Yes, TTC has far more ADVANCED approaches to the measurements and graphs out the torque curves. Guess what? They also respond positively to criticism and welcome suggestions. That's why they're successful. Good luck to you, I'm sure you'll have a million subscribers next year with your originality, positive attitude and innovation.

    • @ToolswithSoAlz
      @ToolswithSoAlz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Little lady, if you can do it better then do so. Since you pretend to know what you're talking about. You need spoon-fed information because you aren't intelligent enough to understand what's going on. You need the pretty colors and graphs to make you feel better because you're an elementary school kid. Men don't need that. Men also don't need someone repeating the same lines over and over again. We're going to test that. I was almost going to through that nonsense into this video just for people like you. The fact is those guys come to the same conclusions but need 20 minutes of pomp and circumstance to make folks like you feel they got value. As a man, I don't need any of that. I just need data. Also, since you want to bring up constructive criticism, let me point out that when a drill hits its peak performance torque it has the nasty tendency to shut itself off to protect it. That's exactly what is being shown in these videos. Literally explained in 60 of these videos that we test only for Maximum Torque. We have done other videos for sustained power. However, none of them use pretty graphs for the dim-witted so you wouldn't enjoy them either. We are the no-nonsense channel, currently sitting at 100,000 followers across all social media platforms. When people like you leave comments about something you should probably be smart enough to figure out the video first.

    • @SouthFLTools
      @SouthFLTools ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting points. However, I don’t think all tool brands can be compared to a common standard, as you indicate in bullet point # 2. Many tool brands don’t have 5 ah batteries. For example, I don’t believe that Ridgid & Ryobi do, at least in the US they definitely do not. Also - TTC and Project Farm are massive channels. TTC has 250k subs and PF has over 2M subs. The money they collect in subscriber revenue will dwarf the subscriber revenue that Tools with SoAlz collects, affording them greater resources to reinvest into the channel if they choose to do so. So it’s not exactly fair to compare Tools with SoAlz to TTC just like it isn’t fair to compare TTC with PF.

    • @afellowinnewengland6142
      @afellowinnewengland6142 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@SouthFLTools Thank you SouthFLTools for your thoughtful and reasonable reply. Going in order of your points I'll do my best to address them:
      In regard to the battery, yes, there are probably certain sizes that are more or less common. 5amp was just an example of where you might start, but if 4amp covers more ground that's even better. Trying to give everyone as fair a shot as possible is the goal and avoid any outliers.
      In regard to the size of the channels I mentioned (TTC and PF), yes, PF is a big channel now. However, TTC is only 2 years old and was started by three young guys with no cash in a garage. They crafted a simple rig on their own and relied on viewers to send them tools since they couldn't afford to buy them. They've exploded in popularity on a shoestring budget in a very short period of time because they bring something new to the table and listen intensely to viewers for ideas and feedback. They still rely on tool submissions and help from viewers to this day.
      It's really not about the money. The AVE channel gives you basically nothing but a video of a pair of hands, a voice and a tool on an old bench- but it's very interesting stuff and he has 1.4 million subscribers. Personally, I don't care how much money or resources a channel has as long as it's interesting and can open my eyes.
