  • If you have installed LED lights in your car, specifically in the the turn signals, you may notice that your lights flash super fast. One option is to install a load resistor with each light, but another is to install one of these LED compatible relays to slow down your blinker!

    I know this is over a year old, but I have to add my kudos here because THIS is the EASIEST way to do this. I've been watching videos for an hour and I had no desire to take apart the front of my dash for this and I LUCKED on to this video. There is so much I do on cars blind (try replacing a flywheel sensor on a Mercedes SL and you'll understand) so this was WAY easier than I thought it would be. Thanks for the video PiedmontTiger, you are a rockstar.

    Hey ... really show what you did that the relay is hidden behind the wiring harness ... How can I point to my helper and explain when you do not show the whole procedure.

    This seems like a much better way of taking care of the problem. Thanks for putting it on here....

    So I have an 04 F-150 and I have LEDs in it, Brake/tail and front marker/signal bulbs. I got the LED relay and now I have another problem.
    If I use the turn signal WITHOUT the parking/marker lights on literally EVERYTHING flashes! Dash Back Lights, Climate Control Back Lights, and all 4 lights indicator lights on the outside of the truck so literally everything.
    If I have the parking/marker lights on they work as normal and only the left or right sides flash.
    Has anyone else had this problem???
    If so how did you fix it?

      This is an '05 F-150, procedure will be different as relay & location will be different on every vehicle.

    It would have been nice to see you actually find the relay instead of just cutting straight to it. That doesn't help us find the relay.

    Excellent video. Did you install the LEDs first? How did you discover there was an LED relay for your car? Are there LED relays for all cars?

      +Gregory P Thanks for the comment! I did some reading online and found that I would need the relay, so I purchased it when the LEDs came in and put the relay in right after the bulbs. I think there are for most cars, but I would say checking online forums would be the best surefire way to see if your car has got one!

      The replacement relay did the trick. I bought the relay with the LEDs. I installed one of the LEDs and tried the flasher, and the hyper flashing started right away. Put in the repay, and all is well. The repay is an excellent solution for using LEDs. Your video saved me a lot of work trying to install resisters for each LED.

    did that fix the "light out" indicator? I have a 2016 ram 2500 and am having that problem and the hyperflashing. what relay would I get?

    • @piedmonttiger265
      @piedmonttiger265  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      it *may* fix the light out indicator. If you went to LED bulbs and are getting it, you might want to take a look at "CAN-BUS LED" bulbs, they essentially have a resistor built in that will fool the computer into thinking it is a standard bulb, I had to get some of them for a newer foreign car.

      Thanks for the comment! I'm actually working on a new video addressing this, as my newer F-150 does not have a replaceable relay either.
