I use two of these for camping: One has all my kitchen stuff and food, the other all my camping kit (bedding, etc). They are the largest bins that fit through the trunk opening of my Subaru BRZ but also just perfectly sized for up to a weeks worth of kit.
Morning Mike. I really like this vid. Simple yet yell thought out. I have a impromptu camping box in my truck too and also have a Thermal Cell to keep the mosquitoes away and I’ve attached a 1/2 piece of scrap plywood to the underside of my camping box top. I’ll take the lid off, flip it over on the tailgate and place my Coleman two burner stove on that. Protects the truck and doubles as a cutting / project board and is easily replaceable. Keep up the great work.
I like this. I personally use up to 3 husky totes. 1 has all my out door stuff, tent, cot etc if I do feel I don’t want to sleep in my runner. One has tools (stove, single burner, pan, folding water container ls, purifier, hatchet, saw, etc) and one that has wood to keep dry wood available. Also keep a small box for batteries and some emergency rations, spices, utensils. All can be somewhat water safe outside if I am in the truck, or fine being stored in the truck if I am using a tent or hammock. If I know what my plan is I don’t bring all of them at any time. But sometimes I do just kinda pick a new spot and go.
I love the boldness in admitting that you use paper plates, I have a stash in my drawers and I'm definitely guilty from time to time. Side Note: MORE LC CONTENT PLEASE!
Definitely feel the pressure of packing with a checklist bc I don’t have a system like this…yet. But this is a great idea. It’s basically a go-bag for camping. Everything you need maybe minus clothes & perishable food.
I have the same cooking system, CAUTION! do not cook hot dinners with the plastic lid on the frying pan it will melt! No issues for the bigger pot since the lid is farther from the flame but check instructions carefully they mention this with the fry pan.
My family has had two camping bins for thirty years, my dad came up with the concept in our house. Super handy! I prefer wet-wipes to paper towels though, good for general cleaning (dishes aswell) good for personal hygiene also. But not bio-degradable obviously
I used to have a dialed bin but we got a pop up and its nice to have it organized in there not in a bin. So I broke mine down. I may remake it for my truck / other trips w/o the camper. Delima :D
Love the idea of the toiletry bag. I ordered one for my Plano box. If anyone here owns a Jeep Patriot the medium size sportsman’s trunk will fit long ways in the back if you take the rear plastic trim cover on the hatch off. You will then also be able to open the rear door from the inside.
I also have a grab and go camping bin. Honestly as great as the jetboil is, it's gigantic overkill for basic camping. A $30 single burner and a medium pan will cover 90% of camp meals and leave enough space for a sleeping bag or wool blanket - which is a major miss in this kit. Having sleeping gear is more important than having multiple ways to cook. My kit has a similar roll-out toiletries kit with lighters, silverware, knife, wet wipes, boo-boo kit, and flashlights. Then I have a single burner, green propane bottle, fire extinguisher, kettle, Dutch oven pan, metal cups, ziplock with trowel & flushable wipes, cheap down sleeping bag, wool blanket, and cheap inflatable sleeping pad. I have a boys axe and silkie saw. I also store a fanny-pack with a poncho, fire kit, med kit, TQ. headlamp, multitool, water bag, & sawyer straw. My box is probably only 10% bigger, but your stuff is so big that you carry significantly less. I like your idea of the string lights, bear spray, and those small cheap chairs. I think I'll add some.
I've been through a few different eating utensils and I saw the Gerber tool and instantly went to Amazon to get the set because it's everything I've been wanting for my camp meals and catch and cooks. Thank you!
Plano trunk is amazing man good price too, i have two and i put it on my honda oddysey trunk, it gives it a bost of height so that you can put groceries on top but have storage in those planos
Even when my wife saw me watching this type of videos and think it's kind of silly watch a guy reviewing his bin (haha!) always I found something very interesting to get. Two GSI Pourover coffe are coming to Chile. Thank you Mike!
Instead of paper plates bring plastic takeout containers. They are lightweight, you can throw them out, they stack really compact, they have a cover if you want to stow some leftovers or stow something else, but after your 18 hour trip you can also throw them in your dishwasher to reuse on your next trip. A stack of 25 containers costs about $7 at Costco i think?
I like GSI’s metal plate-bowls. Big enough as a plate but works as a bowl too, best of both worlds. Great for messier camp foods like chili, biscuits and gravy, or stew.
Thank you for another video it's always good for putting info out there about stuff that we should carry and things that we do carry but really don't need to everyone's appinion is awesome, and I get it about the paper plates they are easier nothing wrong there cause even if we use steel plates or plastic no one is ever happy cause than they worry about the soap we use where we get the water from and everything between, long as we pic up are trash and even than some we all just got to try, again thank you.
Awesome video man. I have always been a glamping type person but I am starting to tent camping so I have to down size BIG time lol. You bring up great points as to what is the basics. Thanks again. Wendel from south Louisiana
Checked out your Amazon list for camping gear and picked up a Plano bin not to long ago and it works great ! So convenient 😎🤞🏾I definitely want to pick up one of those roam adventure co bins but they are kinda pricey rn lol
I had a couple of those and while they were good when they worked the latch is absolutely horrible. They do not last. If you do any cold camping the plastic gets brittle and snaps under normal use.
Could be argued as wasteful....for my morning coffee I use my jetboil and the instant Starbucks powdered single serves....the ultimate is going to be when I get an espresso forge(made in Longmont, Co)
Black bears are actually more aggressive towards humans than grizzlies are. I live up in central BC, we have blacks and grizzlies. Don't bet your life on bear spray...
Your "Jetboil congloboration"makes the classic green Coleman whitegas suitcase stove setup look simple. That Jetboil plastic windscreen would make a nice brow guard, you know the fore noggin? 🥹
@LastLineOfDefense imagine living in a time where you would even need to explain , I'm not calling you out , I'm witnessing how the human psyche is being conditioned, for a moment, you actually felt an unease about a paper plate

I’m rocking the Home Depot, clear top Milwaukee containers. Their water resistant and stackable

Bought the bin from Home Depot today (in black) for $16. Amazon wants $60. Really good bin. Great review video.
We always called ours the 4-Wheeling Bin when I was a kid. I need to build mine out
Literally organizing my camping load out for car camping trips earlier today, stealing that toiletry roll out idea!
Haha niiiiice!

Definitely learned a couple things! I’m going to make a little bin for my weekend trips! Thanks Mike!
If you haven't used the Cliq chairs, I highly recommend. We keep 2 in both of our vehicles at all times.
Sorry for the late response. I’ve been binge watching the Terminal list!

I wish two of those Plano totes would fit perfectly on the large one. Would help my ocd when I pack the back of my truck lol.
Where do you dump your paper plates when done with them? Great review

another cool and informative video
I just got the Jetboil genesis stove a few weeks ago. What adapter do you use for a large propane tank?
Why did I think that fire extinguisher was cheese wiz haha anyways great video. Love these kinds of videos.

Me looking up “Yofi nurture yourself toiletry kit” lmfao
I was tempted to buy the Element fire extinguisher until I saw a test that showed how ineffective it was.
Jump to 5:25 to skip the rambling.
Sleeves up, guns out., flex.

Pro tip: keep your poo bag next to your food bag 😉
Human bowls lol😂
Shrinkflations so bad even your camping bin shrunk
It’s a lid 😂
Just when you think hes going to show you whats inside, he takes 2 minutes explaining what a cargo box is
Glad I could help, buddy!
AHHHHHHHHH
Did I miss the part where this isn’t just a cooking bin? How is this camping?
#orwarever
2 Years later but it's July 3rd lol
30 min to talk about a plastic box 😂
Definitely nothing else was talked about in the video
5 min just to open the bin? Just saying
Dude just tell us whats in the bin holy canoli
Mmmm canolis

Imagine apologizing for 5 min about using a paper plate 🫨..
Did I apologize though?

I don’t think I’ve felt uneasy since maybe like 5th grade when I moved and had to go to a new school and didn’t know anybody.
