I have 1995 FZJ80 with 309,000 miles on it, and I just drive it from LA to North Carolina. I’ll be returning home sometime in the next two weeks, and I have zero concerns with it making the trip. (I have a two-and-a-half inch OME lift, and it’s on 35’s with no re-treating).
I used this to sleep in my Silverado at the marina for salmon fishing. I have a cuddy on my boat but it’s full of 30 rods and tackle. The tent on my truck is easier than cleaning it out sleeping and repacking the gear back in
Great video and setup! It appears the tent is either not setup properly or more likely the wrong size for your bed. Its pulled to low on the sides. No negativity...just trying to help. :) Keep on keeping on!
Love your set up, I'm not a camper type, but in case of emergency, (can't find a hotel type thing) this would be what I need, im planning my adventure " Taco" and your giving me all the substance I need 🥇🌹
I see a number of people who like truck mounted tents, some even larger than Chloe’s, but I always thought them limiting in that if you want to set up camp and then drive off somewhere, you’ve got to take them down and take them with you. I suppose that’s also true of a truck camper. There’s a lot to be said for a standalone tent for flexibility.
I agree and think there are good things to both. I enjoy the space of a standalone tent, but like the truck mounted tents because they are off the ground
Have you tried the tent with the decked system? Just ordered the decked and already have the rightline tent. Hoping the decked doesn’t reduce the headspace to much. Thanks.
I have the same setup! I use my truck for work, so if I had a rooftop tent, I'd be too worried it would get stolen or at very least attract too much attention. The tent works very well in heavy rain and in snow (Utah winter). I wore my snowboard gear and stayed in my sleeping bag. No Buddy Heater and I was still super warm. Thanks for the videos! Keep it up! Maybe one day you can setup a tacoma meet / offroad trail run / overland weekend. I think other followers would be interested too!
Hello, This is a great set-up, it's what I use. I did notice that the tent isn't mounted correctly tho. The inner straps aren't hooked up, (6:00 far left orange strap). Hook those to a cargo loop inside the bed, loosen the outer straps then tighten the inner until the tent sets level, (as it is the back is sagging ). When it's setting right tighten the outer straps. You'll gain more interior space and it'll be easier to get in and out of......door zips will work better tool. You may have to loosen the tailgate strap as well. Cheers.............G
This is actually a killer setup imo Chloe. I dont camp to "camp", rooftop to heavy, bulky, not into the look, etc. As a dirt bike guy, this setup would be way simpler than my trailer. Count me in, Im sold. Will certainly get one of these and give it a go. 'Also bonus points for the G-Shock - world full of apple watches, I still get compliments on my G-Shock often. Toyota people ... Im telling you, we are all kindred spirits :)
Is there a reason you don’t have the orange straps hooked up? This will pull the door end of the tent up and allow it to set evenly on the truck. Makes a huge difference. Just asking.
I had that same tent for some time. Its great for dry weather camping but does not keep out water during a good rain storm. The Napier ones are better as they have a floor and so they completely seal you in but they wont work with the decked system.
@@ChloeKuo have you thought about getting a cap/canopy? If you can sleep inside a short bed, a canopy provides all weather, dust and waterproof solution. That is what I am running now and absolutely love it!
Techron sponsor? I've used Techron fuel cleaner for 20 years and hadn't changed my fuel pump once in that time on one older truck I had. I guess it works with regular use.
Love your videos I’m a big fan of u the most things I love is being out door love my hunting fishing and 4x4 u should I’m down to Sydney Australia I I take u out on the test trips ever
i like the set up, really makes it super multi functional and your not hauling the tent all the time which i believe is a big plus to use your truck for many many adverse things ...Big thumbs up,,,,,,
As a Chevron stockholder, thank you for that promotion ;) Seriously, though, another good video from you. Hope the summer gives you more opportunities to do your thing.
What an amazing video, my friend! Nice camping! The nature is amazing.. Enjoyed watching. Cheers from Russia, Chloe , and welcome to my channel about bushcraft! Bestregards, Yuriy!
I'd just say be careful sleeping with your dog while camping . My dog was chilling with me on the way back in the cab and got a tick in my arm the dog was leaning on.
Chloe... I have a 2018 Tacoma SR5 Access Cab and I just measured the bed and it is 6 feet. Are the beds on the Tacoma's you have shorter? I checked your Amazon link for the Ridgeline Tent but it looks like it only comes in the 5-foot model. Any suggestions for the 6-foot bed models.
Nice set up! I got my tent and mattress last week. I also got a light/fan combo to hang from the ceiling of the tent. Circulation of air in the tent is good for me sleeping. That may be good if you or Cody get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. The light on the fan is dimmable also
I use the Complete Fuel System Cleaner, which does clean deposits from the fuel injectors. I believe that the Fuel Injector Cleaner moreso targets deposits from clogged fuel injectors and dirty carburetors
I'll be trying out the Techron and am considering the deck system, all based on your recommendations, Chloe. I feel your sincerity in your reviews and trust your choices. :) Keep moving up!
Have you had any trouble with bugs getting into the tent? Where I camp we have a lot of mosquitos and I'm worried they would find their way in between the tent and bed. In one of the shots it looks like you could see daylight where the tent wrapped around the bed in some areas.
Nice setup! I appreciate light weight since there are so many 7000lbs Tacoma’s rolling around out there!😂 I was wondering if we were going to get to see how Cody got up in there!👍🏻🐶

That’s a good watch
Great set up. Thanks for sharing.
You are eye candy!
i think you got the wrong size tent, or you pitched it wrong. shit looks wrong
Just bought a 2021 Tacoma. Ready to take it camping her in Oklahoma. There are so many places
Really enjoyed the vid. Dope setup
Napier tent is better.
Techron, thanks for sponsoring Chleo.

Pretty awesome encouraging for me to get an off road vehicle and rooftop tent
Just picked up that exact tent for my 2021 taco 6’ bed. Figured for a little over 100$ id give it a shot

Once again...Spot on! It's how I'd camp with my daily user taco p/u..
I am so impressed by your independence. My kids can learn a lot from you!
Finally someone who doesn't have a $3,000 tent on a $1,000 rack.
This is how normal people camp, sort of lol.
😅
how much is a decked kit. ?
@@yername31 $1500 I think!😂
That's what i love about her content is that it's realistic and obtainable mods
Chloe is so adorable, can't help but smile 🙂
As far as I'm concerned they're all puppies. Forever. I don't care if it's a 7yr old great Dane that's as big as i am. Still a proper to me.
Always nice to see your doggo lending a paw when you need some help (LOL)
I'm really jealous of code right now.
nice to see these setups that don’t cost 150 grand, yet have everything you’d really need. keep up the tacoma content 🤙🏼
Hey very cool set up. I have a 2018 TRD Just new on your site.
Where did you get the tent, deck and drawer set up?
Techron is designed to clean your wallet.
turquoise is my favorite color :). You should check out the casio protrek watch. My favorite outdoor/casual watch
Nice set up just got my tacoma ready to build it up take it on the road all over America I enjoy your videos keep them coming until next stay safe 👍
Have you tried the tent with the decked system? Just ordered the decked and already have the rightline tent. Hoping the decked doesn’t reduce the headspace to much. Thanks.
Are those built right panels inside the bed? With the deck system they are partially covered up, do you still find them useful? Thank you…

Very cool. Safe travels.
I just bought my first Tacoma ! Love ur videos !
I wouldn't camp out this way but gained a new perspective of what's possible. Fun video and like all your gear.

I noticed that as well. I hook the straps over the bed rail to my tailgate latch and tighten thus lifting the tent up higher.

Thank you. And I used to have multiple Apple Watches! I switched to G-shock and it's the longest watch I've been able to have 😁
All respect for sum reason 🔥👌🌲
Lotta work! Think I’ll keep my fifth wheel but I too will keep my Tacoma forever!
I literally just got a pair of vertx pants and now I wish I saw this video before
I should check them out!
How good is that tent in a rainstorm?
Is there a reason you don’t have the orange straps hooked up? This will pull the door end of the tent up and allow it to set evenly on the truck. Makes a huge difference. Just asking.
Famous status!!! Love the videos.
Coolest chick ever
This is awesome but, Where did you poop?
In the woods like a bear.
I had that same tent for some time. Its great for dry weather camping but does not keep out water during a good rain storm. The Napier ones are better as they have a floor and so they completely seal you in but they wont work with the decked system.
I've only camped with it twice (luckily no rain!) but I could see what you mean. I wonder if I could rig the Napier one to work with my DECKED
@@ChloeKuo have you thought about getting a cap/canopy? If you can sleep inside a short bed, a canopy provides all weather, dust and waterproof solution. That is what I am running now and absolutely love it!
Chloe well if you just put a tarp over your tent and bungee cord it to your rails the rain should be no problem! Nice cheap solutions!
Techron sponsor? I've used Techron fuel cleaner for 20 years and hadn't changed my fuel pump once in that time on one older truck I had. I guess it works with regular use.
What’s that dog collar? Thanks!
I'm not sure, I got it as a gift. You can probably search for "LED collar" on amazon and hopefully you can find something similar!
@@ChloeKuo Thank you, Keep up the great vids!
Sweet setup do you think me being 5’8 would I fit in a tent like this?
Nicely done. On behalf of Tundra community, we hope one day you’ll see the benefits of upgrading to Tundra CrewMax…
What kind bed cover do u have? And do you have to take it off for your bed tent?
Love your videos I’m a big fan of u the most things I love is being out door love my hunting fishing and 4x4 u should I’m down to Sydney Australia I I take u out on the test trips ever
I LOVE TACOMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just ordered the same air mattress ✅👍
Dude thank you for the content! You’re helping me figure out what to do next and how to do it too. Thank you!!!
I just found your channel and love all your videos and content. Keep it up!
Looks like you need a 12v bed outlet…
Pretty rad vid
Does your truck have a five ft bed?
Nice, simple camping setup!
Nice setup, I'm thinking all out survivalist would be a natural transition for you.
I really like the color of your truck, and your videos are awesome. 👍
I’ve always liked chevron, I need to get me some Techron
Good job when I’m out camping I like to keep it as simple as possible so it’s a easy cleanup and go. 👍😀
Perfect set-up for a small frame person, like the Deck System makes easy storage and safe. Great video and information. Like the pants too.
This is legit 👍🏻
Cool video, thanks for sharing. Your truck is set up nice…👍🏻🏁
Awesome truck. Love your channel Chloe.

You are such a genuine gem Chloe. Have a great day and thanks for the vid.
Nice setup, simple and easy.
Damn. Did Chevron just sponsor her? Damn, moving on up.
I thought the same. Big ups for that sponsor.
I can't prove this, but I'm pretty sure this pretty little thang has been sponsored by Toyota from day one.
I'm a Jeep guy ,but I love your videos ,you always look so happy and that you are having so much fun do this ! keep it up !
Hey Chloe!......were you on Black Mountain Truck Trail? I just made the loop last Saturday and recommend it if you have the time!
Great setup!

Bruh you should of gotten a Ford 🤨
I'd just say be careful sleeping with your dog while camping . My dog was chilling with me on the way back in the cab and got a tick in my arm the dog was leaning on.
Great point. Rattlesnakes are also an issue when we go to the desert, so I have to keep a close eye on him
Chloe Kuo you might want to get some rattlesnake antivenom for him.

Love the channel! Keep up the great work! 👍
The production quality of your channel is unreal, great job and please keep up the wonderful hard work you do

I was like damn those pants and then she started talking about them, I was like bet 👍
Haha nice! I love them
It’s nice to finally see a different camping set up! I use my Tacoma for daily driving too and was thinking of getting this tent for the truck.
I have one for my Tacoma and it’s nice and quick set up
Love you Chloe!
Great video, as always. I had wondered how the RightLine tent would work with the drawer system. Thanks for the vid.
