    Great piece man, excellent work!
    For added realism I would recommend changing the highlighted part of the texture over time (either by changing the texture directly so that the highlighted part becomes slightly smaller/bigger, or by moving your light sources), because it's a bit noticeable that the texture stays the exact same start to finish.

    If I ever get a chance to develop this idea I have into a show or web series, this is probably the visual look I'd go for. Well done.

      @cockpitsandboobytraps One of my projects for a screenwriting course I took in community college last semester was to write a series bible and pilot episode of my own show. I chose the sci-fi concept I mentioned, so it's definitely something I want to continue working on developing.

      @@cockpitsandboobytraps Well, it can be online, its like a spaceship building game. But its more the creative aspect i thought of. Reminds me of some of the ships there, the reason i mentioned the game however is that i like to build spaceships there, and i was thinking to maybe try to recreate some of your ships in the game!

    Awesome work!! In your outline/lineart/toon shader vids, which method did you use for this ship? It looks cleaner than the toon shader vid. I'd love to make stuff looking this!

    • @cockpitsandboobytraps
      @cockpitsandboobytraps  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! The outlines are definitely inverted hull/ solidify modifier - and I think the shader is the same one I normally use: diffuse BSDF > shader to RGB > color ramp

    • @Cold_Toes_

      @@cockpitsandboobytraps Right on! Thanks man, really appreciate it!

      @@cockpitsandboobytraps Actually, did you separate the materials for the red and black and apply the shader to each one?

    • @cockpitsandboobytraps
      @cockpitsandboobytraps  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Cold_Toes_ yeah, just copying it and changing the colors - you want to make sure that they have the same number of stops on the color ramp, and that they’re in the same places, and be correspondingly dark or light. That way, you’ll get consistent shading across two colors. And actually, I think the red on this DOESN’T have a black stop all the way left, which is why the grey gets black in the dark parts but the red stays red. A mistake! but that may be what you’re going for. I hope that makes sense-
