Thank you! My favorite variation is using tequila, but yes - for the clear version with a coffee infusion vodka makes the most sense and it turned out amazing!
Honestly, amazing stuff. I really want to try this, especially going through the steps of making all the different components myself, like the oil!!! Thanks☕️
This amazing espresso Martini looks spectacular and I can't wait to use this amazing process!! Fabulous video Kevin!! Thanks so much! Love Mr. Black!! 🙂
I was already watching one of your videos when my notifications told me it's Cocktail Time. ☕ I plan to have some cocktails this evening so I'll probably watch more then, when it's Cocktail Time
Hey Kevin, we love your videos! Thanks to you and the team for the great effort! Since my wife is really into Wildberry Lillet, we were wondering if youve got some kind of elevated style or maybe homemade wildberry lemonade?
☕ Thanks, can't wait to try it. You must have covered this before, but would you mind helping us on alternatives if we don't have sous vide machines at home? TIA!
Here is an episode where I did this type of drink with using Roiboos tea. th-cam.com/video/lkVjfFCaMIE/w-d-xo.html Maybe this is something you are looking for. Cheers!
Hey Kevin! I have had a spectacular inverted espresso martini riff in the KAA Mixology bar in Budapest called “Sip Happens” (to give credit where credit is due). It was a clarified meczal milk punch but the coffe element was only on top of it, in the form of a coffe-raspberry foam, delicius! How would you go about making this cocktail? There has to be some kind of acidity, like lime juicy in the milk punch clarification process right?
It sounds delicious! I did something similar with an inverted White Russian cocktail or inverted Dominicana. Indeed, in the milk punch process, there has to be something acidic so the curdling process starts.
Saline solution, or just salt with a little water, does the same in the cocktail as it does it cooking - it makes the flavors pop out a little bit more.
@kevinkos do you think I can do this but with ground espresso beans? Instead of ground coffee?

What’s the ABV of the resulting coffee infused Vodka? Since the freezing points of vodka (-23°C) and oil (-17°C) are quite similar it must go up a lot? Would it make sense to use a higher ABV spirit to extract more from the oil or not? ☕️
I guess Greg from HTTD will have to address this sooner or later, he had issues with a clear Espresso Martini years ago☕ BTW, due to this week's newsletter I'm obliged to share a very interesting series of young adult male catered comic-books from Japan called "Bartender". The first volume's chapters make clear that the author & artist knew what they were doing when making this serialized story. I'll keep it at that, and it's also a commentary similar to the way expressed in the newsletter, but enough spoilers.
That would be easier and faster, you're right! But it would add a lot of color to the vodka so it then starts looking more like the classic Espresso Martini! Not that there's anything wrong with that 😉
It's a cool technique, but I really don't love the oil soluble flavors in coffee... I'd much rather milk wash a pour over. The added whey would also help with foaming.
That's why it's so great that there are so many different techniques for creating amazing cocktails! Check out my Inverted White Russian for another clear coffee drink 😉

clear white russian😂
Finally a clear coffee drink I want to taste!
I'd love to make you one, James, but I'm sure you can try it out on your own. Should I provide the grams for all the ingredients? 😉
No waysss
It's happening, boys. Senpai noticed.
Do the collab.... do it meow!
After this video, I'm thinking of seeing a recipe on the most effective method of extracting oil-soluble coffee flavors
Love the voice effect during the freezer cut. 🎬
After days to make the coffee oil, I used this technique to make a clear sparking mezcal coffee margarita (that I actually dreamt about once and have been trying to recreate ever since) and its perfect
Except the name.. The name needs work
That tasted as mind-blowing as it looks! 🤯🔝
🤩 For sure!
Great twist! Cheers!
On the other hand I prefer my EM with Cognac. Anybody else?
However, in this episode it makes 100% sense to use vodka!
Thank you! My favorite variation is using tequila, but yes - for the clear version with a coffee infusion vodka makes the most sense and it turned out amazing!
Thank u for all the effort Mr.kevin kos
I hope soon u make an episode creating Ube/purple yam flavored cocktail
thanks for the idea! Cheers!
@@KevinKos 😊🥂
I've been trying to get a ube latte martini to work and this just unlocked so much!
☕ Another great video, thanks Kevin.
Quick fiy, water is not a beverage! Anything but water is considered a beverage.
☕️ This looks super fun and impressive. My mouth is watering
Honestly, amazing stuff. I really want to try this, especially going through the steps of making all the different components myself, like the oil!!! Thanks☕️
Go for it! Cheers!
☕ another winner!
glad you like it!
☕️ Looks phenomenal!
Almost futuristic. Cocktail Time never disappoints.
Thank you, Alex! Cheers!
This should be worth the time to make
☕ Fun video! I'd love to try making it myself sometime when I'm a little more financially stable!
I'm not a coffe lover, but I only have issues with the brewed [beverage] and actually love the powder, so I'd give it a shot!
Glad you found an improved way to enjoy coffee! 😂
This amazing espresso Martini looks spectacular and I can't wait to use this amazing process!! Fabulous video Kevin!! Thanks so much! Love Mr. Black!! 🙂
With pleasure! I am super happy that you like the idea! I was impressed, too, when I saw it on Rich's Instagram page.
I don't think I would enjoy this that much, but it's a super cool use of fat washing! Nice job.
Sei un grande, devo provare assolutamente ❤
cheers!
☕️ thanks for the vid…trying this out soon 🤗
Kevin - really neat spin on the espresso martini!
Do you have any concerns about risk of botulism when it comes to oil infusion?
What about trying to make a clear "Don Juanchos Coffee"?
Rum, coffee liquor, espresso, orgeat, cane sugar syrup, triple sec and cacao bitters.
always sceptical with clear coffee but i think this one is worth a shot ☕
cheers!
I think i will try this with a Carajillo, my now go to coffee cocktail.
cheers!

definitely gonna try it

Just finished my vodka washing and pretty amazed by the taste. Do you know if the caffeine content remains with this technique?
Sadly no, but I guess it's not much. If you would like your epsresso martini without cafeine then check out my latest episode. Cheers!
☕️ I’m going to try out the super foamer this weekend
Hope you like it!
☕. Looks fabulous but I don't have a sous vide machine so look forward to the hack for infusing without the machine
As long as you have a thermometer you can get similar results with an oven or over the stove 😊
@@owenedwards9807 Thanks Owen, much appreciated
☕ Thanks, can't wait to try it. You must have covered this before, but would you mind helping us on alternatives if we don't have sous vide machines at home? TIA!
I'll try to experiment and maybe include it in part 2 of Cocktail Hacks, stay tuned!
☕ Great video on this special drink.

Amazing experiment ☕

Awesome technical extraction..fat technical!!
😉💥
☕️ clearly a must try
Going start this today
cheers!
You should honestly publish a book if you haven't already. I would buy it
Thank you so much! Super busy at the moment, but I do have a few things in mind for a book! Stay tuned! 😉
Would the clear espresso martini batch well?
Enjoy ☕️
Awesome technique!
🤩🤩
May i ask why you are using saline solutions for your cocktail? What is the reason?
Very good! Thank you 🔥
Glad you like it!
Where was this 3 months ago?? So cool to see clear coffee is a thing now!!!
haha sorry 😅😁
Hey Kevin!
I have had a spectacular inverted espresso martini riff in the KAA Mixology bar in Budapest called “Sip Happens” (to give credit where credit is due).

What martini glass do you use for the original espresso martini?
What provides the physiological solution to the cocktail?
Saline solution, or just salt with a little water, does the same in the cocktail as it does it cooking - it makes the flavors pop out a little bit more.
What is the expected yield for the coffee vodka?
You're an absolute legend. Thanks!!!
Thank you, Daniel! Cheers!
Can you substitute egg white for the super foamer?
You can, but I would still preffer super foam in here.
Sir which coffee you used
Hi,
What did you use to filter the oil washed vodka? Paper towels?
yes, paper towels.
@@KevinKos thank you
Nice, cheers! ☕️

I thing there is noo need to use higher proof spirit but as you mentioned, you will extract more with using it.
Could this be the secret to entirely an entirely clear Donut Old Fashioned? 🤔
this might me it indeed! I would need to do some testings. Great idea!
I guess Greg from HTTD will have to address this sooner or later, he had issues with a clear Espresso Martini years ago☕

☕ does the grind size matter when preparing the coffee oil?
it might be harder to filter it if the coffee is too fine.
@@KevinKos Thanks!
I think i gonna try this at home. But i only have one question. U use 400 ml of Vodka and the oíl cofee, how much u get from this blend?
When fatwashing, you don't really lose much. Maybe you end up with 350 mL, but I don't remember the exact volume.
@@KevinKos thanks so much. U'r one of my favorites bartenders in the world. A great inspiration to do differents stuff in Colombia.
Cheers! ☕️
Could you - or someone else - tell me the name of the glass you used for the Original Espresso Martini?
It’s a martini glass. 🥲
@@iankaart Yes, obviously. And usually, each glass has a name or at least a brand.
And why not infused vodka with coffee instant?
That would be easier and faster, you're right! But it would add a lot of color to the vodka so it then starts looking more like the classic Espresso Martini! Not that there's anything wrong with that 😉

Coffee
☕☕
Why ???
It may not have Espresso in it, but this cocktail is just as fa-brew-lous as the classic 🤩

Though its a good technical exercise, I just dont get it... espresso martinis already look really pretty. Still, great video as always

IMO, an Espresso Martini shouldn't look like a Martini. So I don't see the point.
