I feel like I might be setting myself up to be dragged, but here goes...I don't drink any more. Even so, I still love the flavor of Bailey's (and Kahlua). Can I make this sans alcohol, or is it key to the consistency or something?
No dragging here- people can be cool or GTFO ;) As for a non-alcoholic version, I think it’s absolutely possible, but I have not personally tried it. The absence of the Whiskey will definitely affect the texture, so maybe either add in water, or, use a lighter milk/cream. Also, have you tried any of the N/A whiskeys? This might actually be a great use of those! I did a review a while back with a few options. I think the spice notes of those might actually work really well and give you the festive feel of Bailey’s without the alcohol content. Let me know if you try it!! Cheers!
@@SavidgeKitchen Being out of the alcohol world, I didn't even know there *were* N/A whiskeys!😲 🤯 Whooooo! You've started something now! (*mad scientist hand rub*) I'll try to report back.
In my city there is a great store that has wonderful mock alcohol. Since it has no alcohol it could be easy to find it on line and maybe some regular stores carry it.
I have made Irish Cream every year for Christmas as gifts to friends. It's so simple and quick. I replaced the extract for Frangelico liqueur and it gives it a nice almondy flavour
I just finished making this recipe and it is spot on! Baileys Over Ice is pretty much the only adult beverage that my wife will partake and she lit up when she tasted it.
A year or so ago, I found a Tropical Bailey's and can honestly say...it was every bit as "dangerous" from a "not getting totally hammered" standpoint as Baileys. I would love a recipe for that, but since self control goes out the window when Bailey's enters the chat, I haven't really tried to find a recipe to make it at home. Oh, I make my own vanilla with Smirnoff and vanilla beans. Wonder if that would change anything?
@ftorftorius5796two reasons to make your own first doing it yourself is fun for some people not everybody I personally like a DIY approach The other reason is price at least where I live Bailey's is very expensive
A coworker gave us some homemade Irish Cream for Christmas last year. It was so good we asked for the recipe. Pretty much identical to yours. I actually like the taste of the homemade better. I made some and also use it on ice cream! Hoping for more this Christmas.
The first time, I watched the video out of curiosity. The second and third times, it was to make Irish cream myself. Well, the fourth and fifth times were just to see you enjoy the Irish cream. It's so much fun to watch. And now, after making it myself, I also understand why...
I’m going to get the ingredients and make some for the Christmas party this year.Thank you for the recipe I will definitely be making a big impression with my friends ❤
I made this with condensed coconut milk, Elmlea Plant Cream and a teaspoon of vanilla extract, a shot of espresso instead of instant coffee and everything else the same……OMG! So gooooooooooooood!! ❤
I had lost my recipe and looked up how to make, came across you. Everything is exactly the same except the almond. And I do have some. Thanks, you did a great job.
Went to a party and one of the White Elephant gifts was a bottle of this Baileys. When it was my turn I forgot to steal this gift. Asked where they got the recipe and they directed me to this site. Just made my own. It is perfect. This is THE recipe you need. Thank you Savidge Kitchen, great video.
I love Baileys. I drink Baileys while smoking pipe tobacco. Smoking London Blend or American Virginia Perique with a cup of Baileys and slow jazz really make my day joyful.
Great video -- very creative of you to come up with a homemade version of such an iconic liqueur. Love the idea of a coconut variation as well. Thank you!
Thank you!!!! I just made this for the holidays. OMG! IT WAS A HIT. EVERYONEEE loved it and said it taste just like the Baileys from store. Thank you so much for this recipe!❤
My wife has it with her coffee every morning as I do also myself on occasion. We stopped buying Bailey's because of the high price compared to Carolans and Dewey Irish cream but definitely not the same. I will try this recipe and let you know how it goes. Thank you for sharing! :)
Just made this AGAIN! Went w/almond extract, followed recipe, blended, then poured into glass bottle to chill in refrigerator for a bit. Impatience overpowered me, so I poured some over scoop of ice cubes, ready to watch BritBox 😜😋 LOVELY! AGREED! Comforting!! MAHALO! 🙏🏻
OK this was easy to make. I used my Italian Atomic coffee maker with Dark French roast Turkish grind and put half a cup of pressed coffee in my version and because I am using liquid coffee I used the whipping cream. You got this one. This is better than the Baileys you buy, never have I had a Liquior this fantasitc. Well done, it is superb!
I don't normally drink wine, beer or the hard stuff. But I do really enjoy a Christmas tradition that I started for myself many years ago of sipping Baileys at Christmas time. But this year I'm having a hard time finding it. So I'm glad to see this recipe. Really good video production and presenter presence, BTW.
OMG! I ENJOYED THE HOMEMADE Irish Creme TUTORIAL. I will DEFINITELY try your recipe. I'm a fan of Jameson as well. The presentation from beginning to end was the best. The ingredients were superficial and very inexpensive. You nailed it. Keep up the good work and WEAR YOUR SMILE. YOU WORE IT WELL!!
Now I'm ready to make Espresso Martini's. I just finished making this recipe using Raw Sugar and Jameson. I did a taste test with some Baileys and I could not taste a difference. I followed your recipe exactly except I dissolved the coffee in the Jameson before adding in blender. Loved it. Yesterday I made your Kahlua with Bacardi White Rum.
I made a lactose free version, so made my own sweetened condensed milk from lactaid whole milk and some Dulce de Leche. Found a lactose free half and half and followed your recipe for one bottle and then a second with 2 tbsp of the dulce de leche. Everyone seems to like the second more. I added it based on your orange hue comment. Might be worth a try.
Seeing the texture when you were pouring i feel yours has a better thicknesses to it that will linger and swirl better in the mouth and more richness 🎉 your is better 10/10 i have not tasted alcohol of any kind in my span of life but i love making them (wine) you have given me a good idea happy holidays
An awesome recipe! and very satisfying to watch! the only problem is it is impossible to ask someone who likes to drink alcohol to prepare this drink, he will never intentionally mix Jameson and condensed milk :-)
Taste is acquired. Don't be surprised if our home made cream tastes better for some. Good recipe and presentation. I will try adding a pinch of cinnamon and cardamom. Variety is the spice of life. Cheers ❤
I made mine exactly as you recommended, and it was a total success. That creamy richness, slightly enhanced with coffee and bitter chocolate... I just replaced usual condensed milk with preheated caramel condensed milk (the darker and thicker texture with that caramel goodness); and whiskey with my homemade whey and barley distillate. My wife and her friends told me the result is even better than the original. Thank you so much for this video ❤🎉
I saw your video went down the shops bought the ingredients and was drinking it an hour later. I think I will reduce the amount of almond essence next time but excellent base for devoping your own preferences. Thank you 😊
I definitely taste a hint of orange zest in Bailey's (not a Carmel color but an actual flavor). I add a third Tbs of chocolate syrup. Cut the almond extract from 1 tsp to just 1/2 tsp (almond extract is bitter - you can easily add more if you think it needs it and I do add 1/2 tsp vanilla.
I finally made this and LOVE it. I had plenty of Jameson and other ingredients. So, I made more! I added more Nescafé and added tbsp of caramel sauce, along with the chocolate sauce. It turned out decadently delicious! Thank you for this recipe/video and for the tips on altering ingredients! Super simple to follow along and super simple to make! Mahalo! 🤙
Excellent! I made both versions, and they came out yummy! I added xantham gum (1t for the coconut version, 0.5t for the half and half one) just to give it a smoother consistency. Thanks!!!
If you have a connection in Ireland, Jameson has released a version with an orange flavour. I'm in Canada and to the best of my searching, it's not available here. My wife brought a bottle back a couple months ago (October 2023). I've had a couple of sips and it's absolutely fantastic, but I'm a fan of Orange. I'm going to ask my daughter to send another bottle over and I'll use it to make this recipe. Loved the video, just stumbled on your channel - you're a great presenter! Liked and subscribed!
I love your presentation. I'm going out to get the ingredients today. Baileys is expensive but I'll make due with your recipe. Thank you your awesome ❤.
Thank you so much!! I hope you enjoy the recipe, and if you only make the half batch I show here, you still end up with coffee, cream and whiskey left over to use up in other ways! Cheers :)
I make mine almost exactly the same, but I also add a little brown sugar. Homemade is sooo much better than Bailey's. btw, this makes a nice Christmas gift for your neighbors.
I’m going to try making this low carb. Evaporated milk instead of condensed milk, brown sugar swerve, and slightly watered down heavy cream(from shelf-stable powder). I’ll compare carbs between whiskey and NA whiskey. Another commenter suggested this recipe is as costly as Bailey’s, or more so. I’m reading responses to a comment about making this NA, such as hot sauce to replace the whisky’s kick.
Curious to hear how it goes! The texture will definitely be different, but different is ok! I love when people make adjustments that work for their particular tastes :)
I like a round glass of Bailey's on ice beside a cold pint of Guinness, or Beamish draught. The Bailey's adds a nice sweet taste before drinking the more irony, bland taste of black beer. One time I got carried away and kept making myself Bailey's on ice until the bottle was empty, then the spinning started and well I puked my guts up, not recommended. Will try this recipe!
Good recipe, gonna try it. I make an Irish crean cappuccino and a Hazelnut cappuccino using International Foods creamers. Just so tasty. But I use moonshine instead of whisky since its readily available and inexpensive.
I love home made Baileys. I find it tastes even better if I steal my husband's Jack Daniels and use that instead of the Irish Whisky. I also add a splash of Amaretto along with the Almond extract. I might also add a dash of Tia Maria as an experiment. Too much? lol Using the base recipe of sweetened condensed milk and cream, I made a mint flavoured version that was similar to the drink "Greensleeves" that was sold in the UK back in the 1970s, that was yummy! One more thing, if (like me) you make a mistake and whisk it too thick, you can simply put it into a tub and freeze it for Baileys Ice Cream (no need to churn) and it's delish!
I am not much of a drinker, but my Irish cream in my coffee is a must and the occasional toddy too. Irish cream or Coureur des Bois with Milk and ice cubes. Coureur des Bois is maple syrup based. We buy it in Canada, have not seen it in the states but that does not mean they don’t have it. It is VERY worth getting…..yummy!
I tried this on Christmas this year. The Jameson Cold Brew Whiskey and Coffee flavor and it was SO, SO good. Everyone loved it and now I'm off to the store to make it again for family. 😀
I’m going to make some homemade Baileys very very soon because of you! However, I do not much care for Hershey’s chocolate syrup, as I don’t like all the additives. But I keep a lot of Crio Bru cacao on hand. After I make it, I will let you know how it tastes. I just now came across this channel, and I’ve made a new friend. 😂😂
Excellent video, you explain it very nicely. To the point, just enjoyed it, I can almost taste the flavour. Keep up ❤ P.S : You have a very vibrant aura. I just happened to see you and your video for the first time!
I love your recipe and made it that day with vanilla extract. Today I made hot coco I used French vanilla cream and almond extract. I had coconut rum and I don't know if I'm having Irish cream or an almond joy. Keep up the good work ❤. ❤. ❤❤
I make this every Christmas and it usually lasts the entire year even sharing. I use this exact recipe with almond flavoring. I also use heavy cream and less Jameson’s, but that’s because I’m not really into alcoholic beverages. I do like it in my coffee occasionally or a hot chocolate.
You say you use this all year? Is the shelf life that good? I’m assuming it is refrigerated ? Or did I misunderstand and you make it several times throughout the year?
I made this and she's right. It is bang on. I had white creme de cacao so I used a splash of that 4 the chocolat. I used 10% creamo which i thought was plenty rich. And id say start w a 1/4 tsp almond extract because depending on what u have it can get too strong very quickly. Love this and so glad it turned up in my suggestions.
This video was the first one i watched from you and i'm hooked 😂. Thank you for the great channel, subbed and waiting for new contents. Happy holidays from Finland!
The part of your video that you enjoyed most was the taste test at the end. If I made this I would convince myself that it had to be drunk within 3 days because of the cream. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. 😏😏😏 cheers
This is the first video i come across from your channel. Thank you for showing me how to mix up Baileys from home. Cheers!!! PS cant stop watching all other videos from your channel
I love Bailey's, and this homemade version sounds delicious! Unfortunately for me, my favorite Irish whiskey happens to be Midelton. There's no way I'd use it to make Bailey's, LOL!
Can I let you in on a secret? You can have more than one bottle in your cupboard at a time! Buy a cheap bottle of Jameson to make this, and keep sipping Middleton. Best of both worlds!
I have an original baileys recipe so easy and so yummy but to be honest addicting. Had to give it up. Lol so now we make at Christmas and give away in nice bottles
I made your recipe it turned out fantastic! I made it to gift it to my friend but I am afraid it's not going to make it to her house. It is so good! Thank you for the recipe.

I love her enthusiasm when she talks about alcohol, its like she lights up and you can see the excitement in her eyes :D

For people who don't know - you can buy caramel condensed milk. Which will probs make the drink most similar to original Baileys.

Right... 👍

Agree- safety first. 🥃
I love your recipe and made it that day with vanilla extract. Today I made hot coco I used French vanilla cream and almond extract. I had coconut rum and I don't know if I'm having Irish cream or an almond joy. Keep up the good work ❤. ❤. ❤❤
Thank You I love my Bailey's and Coffee. I'm going to try this!
This just solved my Christmas gift idea for next year. Thank you. I can't wait to try it.
I make this every Christmas and it usually lasts the entire year even sharing. I use this exact recipe with almond flavoring. I also use heavy cream and less Jameson’s, but that’s because I’m not really into alcoholic beverages. I do like it in my coffee occasionally or a hot chocolate.
Lovely! One of my favorite things about homemade liqueurs is that you can adjust them to suit your own tastes 🥰
Thank you so much for tuning in!! New video tomorrow ;)
The part of your video that you enjoyed most was the taste test at the end. If I made this I would convince myself that it had to be drunk within 3 days because of the cream. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. 😏😏😏 cheers
I fully support this rationalization 🙌
I use. Jamison’s Cold Brew. So good!!
Love it and we only had cheap Canadian whiskey and it still came out delicious
This is the first video i come across from your channel. Thank you for showing me how to mix up Baileys from home. Cheers!!!
PS cant stop watching all other videos from your channel
Welcome! 🥃
Im irish and i can tell you southern comfort is the best whisky my grandfather drank it mans long dead god rest him..and i drink it fantasico👌
I love your recipes.
Relatively new to your channel.
Your version looked creamier, which I like.
Best of both worlds!
so baileys is a holiday drink around here... over ice, in the coffee, over ice cream, you know the drill...Tomorrow we are trying this...Thanks
I had this recipe when someone made it! It is delicious!!
I made this and it came out great. I’d have trouble telling the difference in a blind taste test. Thanks for a great recipe
What a delightful presentation, I’m off to buy some Jameson & the other ingredients ❤
Look forward to doing this for Xmas gifts this year in lieu of my homemade egg nog. Everyone loves the egg nog but I’m ready to change it up.
Wonderful! I hope it’s a big hit!!
Totally yummy! I over did the chocolate on the first bottle, but it still was pretty good. Thank you!
I love bailey's Irish cream make it every year Christmas
I am definitely going to try this Bailey's is my all time favorites. Thank you!
