A brilliant and very funny exchange between Bet and Fred. Fred: "I've done something nasty to me shoulder as well you know." Bet: "Nature beat you to it, Fred, she did something nasty to the lot of you." The writing and performances were truly exceptional.
Would you flaming credit it?! Brian walks in the door, after a long hard day, trying to build a business. Gail's there with a long face, moaning about his coming in late. Putting the boot in. The very next morning she's at the garage, lecturing Brian about what it takes to build a business!
So funny the sketch with Stan sat down in the corner shop and Hilda comes in ? I’ve never heard of a window cleaner that can’t climb ladders 😂😂😂😂😂 hilarious. Just love those 2 x
The fact that the comments discuss these fictional characters as if they were real shows the power of quality writing. This period of Coronation Street is an absolute joy to revisit, a wonderful glimpse into a world without internet, anxiety, political correctness, woke bullshit, trans nonsense, road rage, snowflakes and the million other things that make TV, and life in general, in 2023 a f*cking misery.
Oh The Duckworths! 😆😆 Jack is so funny! Seeing him Walk into the room in his PJs With the buttons done up wrong Like a 5yr old... Good old Vince La Fontaine & Carole Monroe.... 😆😆😆 They are a breath of fresh air Plus they make Stan & Hilda positively genteel & noble! I wish fat face fred had been trapped in the back of the removal van & sent up to The Orkney Islands ( no offence to the Orkneans) Its a beautiful place & visitors are made so welcome! D'ya know, when you get down to It, dear old Mike Baldwin, really does have a heart of gold despite its enamel coating! Really LOVING these episodes Its PURE entertainment & im So appreciative of Professional Gun 66 for his hard work bringing as many episodes as possible 10 out of 10 ✔❤ Thank You 🇬🇧👧
Im sure the seascape on the Tilsleys wall is a mini version of Stan & Hildas wall Murial! Someone in " Set Dressing" has a good sense of humour! I never noticed when i origionally watched these episodes, what a good looking guy Terry Duckworth ( Nigel Pivarro) was! A bad lad though ! Wonder what he looks like today? Cheers 🇬🇧👧
Fred thought he was on a promise😄it would be a cold day in hell.😂 Forgotten how good looking Terry Duckworth was when he was younger, but then weren't we all😃 Ivy the mother in law from hell👹 Stan and Hilda😙 R Chuck.❤
Now I wonder what restaurant it was that Stan and Hilda were at ? The waiter was probably an actor, but you can tell by the format of the film it's a real location as opposed to the studio.
Duckworth's house warming off to a great start with blasting out Holy Diver by Dio. There's an episode earlier on than this when Hilda starts working for the Lowther's. She mentions Mrs Lowther has paraquat flooring 😂😂
2.23.33 That’s one of the scenes that was recently replayed as one of Rita’s memories (following Dennis’s death) for the sixtieth anniversary, I think?
Kevin Lloyd lived in the next street to me in Derbyshire, I would often see him in local shops and chip shop, he and his wife were lovely people, they fostered many children.
Not exactly "where it's at" the Graffiti Club is it? Even for 1983 I'm sure the nightlife venues must have been a bit more colourful and jumping than that beige bore 😂
That tiny room of the duckworths with that bar big table and did anyone else notice the vase of flowers stuck on top of the cooker! great if someone lights the grill
Originally, Gail was sickly sweet. And in a couple of years' time she will be angry, sullen, spiteful and selfish.... but at the moment, she is in her NAG NAG NAG phase, which may just be the worst of them all. Give it a rest love.
Ken “He prefers to work with people-editors-as partners rather than employees.” Deirdre “I see-he wants to marry you.” Imagine if Blanche had been there!
There was a GREAT scene when she was the stripper! She was talking to Bet about taken home by a guy (from a show) because her husband was on nights. Then she said something like “I don’t know who you think I am but I don’t take my clothes for all and sundry!” I just loved this brilliant and witty script writing. 😅
I know Jack is as dodgy as .... but he's really very funny 🤣🤣🤣 And Vera 'you come round that corner like a fillet with its tail on fire!' (That killed me 🤣🤣). I know he shouting is grating, but some of the things she says!
“She could’ve been his mother, y’know-if his father had remarried.” So if Stanley Fairclough ( Len’s son) turned up-would that make you his mother, Rita?
Mike Baldwin's Trendy new night club the graffiti club is full of OAPs. Mike if you're getting in to the night club business you want to attract young folks not pensioners .. dear oh dear 😂😂
I'd forgotten what a dreadful old harpie Ivy was. Can you imagine having her as a mother in law 😮. Their diets were horrendous as well, alcohol, pies and chips, fry ups and junk daily. Loved CS back then, as soon as Hilda departed, i stopped watching
How does Ken measure the success of a free newspaper? Increased circulation means he can charge more for advertising, so just enlarge the circulation area, and bung the rag through more letter boxes
Did anyone notice how the idea of bringing a bottle to a party, needed to be explained to Jack. I'm sure showing up to a party, empty- handed was second nature to him and Vera.
This era was top notch, and dont get me wrong, I love Rita... But by today's standards she'd get her block knocked off for 5h1t stirring and saying things she shouldn't. Hard to watch her harass and bully Mavis through 'today's eyes'!!
Baldwin and yeates ..two rogues with a heart of gold...two of the best characters on the street
Baldwin never had a heart of gold
@@joeblogs-vx4epnow and again
Yates is lovely
These old episodes are the best of Coronation Street.
Ivy talking to Betty about Brian and Gail, " I don't like interfering " has got to be the understatement of the Soap World.
Love these classic episodes. Stan and Hilda at the restaurant was very touching. Today’s episodes are a mere shadow of these
Absolutely spot on
Ppp
Was he always drunk 🥴
Was beautiful
I stopped at 1999 . And I’ve watched the whole series every time I’m sick . I miss it so much as it was very comforting to me 😢
Adore Stan and Hilda , brilliant duo .so funny 😄 Hilda sharp wit is excellent
Omg mike and Deidre dancing to yesterday made me cry... How poetic❤️
They had really great chemistry together. I kinda wish she wound up with Mike.
Thanks once more for all you hard work. you have given me great entertainment while I have been stuck at home.
So great - cold rainy day and classic coronation st - thanks for this.

It's a wonder Fred Feast didn't end up with some sort of complex after all the insults levelled at Fred Gee over the years.
@@stevenhighams4190he didn’t do a bad job on slinging muck at others.

It's the high pitched voice 😬
I know right, now they are moving in with Ivy he will have two moaning hags on his case🙄🤮🤮
That is the reality of women's behavior.
Dressed like a little girl with her shoes on the couch!
Loved Stan and Hilda at the restaurant 😊

Well said!

totally agree.
It also shows the quality of the acting too.
I had a massive crush on Nigel Pivaro back in the day, he was gorgeous. Sadly, the years haven't been kind to him though.

Hilda saying there'll be days soon when we won't have any cash in our pockets at all and how right she was!!

Ty so much for uploading these episodes great fan from NZ here ❤
where did Elsie go to in these episodes?
Terry was quite fit in those days.
Yes in the 80s Terry and Kevin visited my local pub ( The Green Man) in Derby, the girls were going crazy for them🤣🤗Bless.
Now I wonder what restaurant it was that Stan and Hilda were at ? The waiter was probably an actor, but you can tell by the format of the film it's a real location as opposed to the studio.
Love watching these classic coronation Street episodes . I was 12 at the time and had a crush on Shirley back in the day
Who's Shirley?
@@paullynton-green6570 the young black girl from the factory ends up taking up up with Curly ala the Curly & Shirley partnership!
That rita just bullies mavis
Im not suprised. Mavis has a most insufferable character.
The Recorders secretary was previously the girl who aided and abetted the robbery at R' Brian's garage.
Deidre is just so lovely 😊.
Jack serving Hilda red wine in a pint glass. Comical 😀😀
Vera's shouting gets right on my nerves 🤣
I do love her voice though, it's melodic
Yes she is a menace but you love her really
And saying ‘kid’ after almost every sentence
Gail came round that corner and never slowed down, she must have been blind not to see Vera and Jack.
Yeah!.. Jack & Vera should’ve kicked Old Ferret Faces arse over it… She had the nerve to gob off at the Duckworths… Shes a Goblin faced mare…
Awesome upload 🤘
Gail is always pestering brian in that garage
Because she doesn't trust him.🙄
Ivy always irritated me but by heck no body could play that part like she did. Brilliant acting.
I still love to see the Pussycat at the beginning of each episode.
1:20:21 Terry puts on seconds of "Like An Animal" by The Glove . . .
1:22:43 and a snippet of Ronnie James Dio.
Hilda suits that fur coat, it's easy to see she is actually a classy person in real life ❤

Mavis’s suggestion to Eddie about wearing masks like surgeons- bit prophetic! Of course none of them knew what 2020’d bring, but...

Gayle was so crazy about that house, now she wants to sell it! ☺️😂
By marrying Ken, Deidre really did fling her whole being into the void, didn't she. A more sedentary, flatlining existence you couldn't imagine.
