    Could you put together a 7.3 PS video about what to ask a mechanic to check on a vehicle you've just bought? I'd like a list to bring to them as a starting point for assessing the overall health of the truck.

    If I did have a complete and working flux capacitor I would go back to around 1984 and do several things a little differently. But I would still have bought my 2002 7.3.

    As soon as he said hpop in the list of problems I knew this was gonna be good.

    It was plutonium to generate a nuclear reaction the flux capacitor needed to create the 1.21 jigawatts of electricity. Or a bolt of lightning would work too.

    It’s on the shelf next to the blinker fluid.

      there really is blinker fluid (well, technically headlight fluid). For cars that have wipers on the front lights.

    The great thing about the 7.3 is that there is only one sensor that if it goes bad will leave you dead in water.
    Any others will allow you to limp home.

    I have a 2002 F350 7.3L 6spd manual 4x4: And I just changed the water pump; accidentally broke the temp sensor on the pump. So I ordered the motorcraft replacement (with the cone shaped metal tip/ white connector). But they sent my the other sensor, that fits the E350, and has the smooth shank tip with a flared head (looks like a penis, sort of). Do you know if it will work in my truck? It says it's not compatible when I look it up , but I'm not real sure why or how it's different. I understand that my truck has two different temp sensors, and from what I understand- this sensor on the pump is only a switch for the dash gauge. But do you know if the one I have will still work? It's a bit of a headache to send back, but I can't return it if I open it.

    • @CUSTOMWORKS7.3PSD
      @CUSTOMWORKS7.3PSD  ปีที่แล้ว

      its a different resistance so it would be miss informing the gauge or ecm which on a 02 is monitored from the cluster as well as from the 2nd sensor The values would differ

      @calholli ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CUSTOMWORKS7.3PSD Ok. I appreciate the reply. I bought it on ebay, and made sure it was motorcraft; They had the correct "photo" of the one I need, but they sent me a different one than their photo. So it's completely their fault, oh well. More waiting time I guess. I'm just happy to finally be tackling the leaks. We did a new water pump and the full heat exchanger seal/ gasket change, and I haven't seen it drip yet ever since. All I have left now is whatever is leaking up top; the entire valley is completely caked with oil, so I think I'm going to hose it out as well as I can at the car wash, and see where the fresh oil is coming from. I want to say it's either one of the little lines, or at the hp pump; because most of the oil seems to be towards the front - and is just flowing to the rear. I already plan on a full pedestal o-ring change, if it needs it. I love this truck. Drover it for a decade building houses and metal buildings. It's probably the best truck Ford ever made.
