I think public health is a great undergrad major, especially in the next few decades of medicine as we focus more on tailoring medicine to different populations with their own socioeconomic and cultural considerations 👏👏
Thank you so much for this post! I’ve been feeling lost as a biology major but I think I’ve found my calling. I specially want to focus on the maltreatment of Black American women in the health care system.
Loving this! I studied my MSc in public health, and am a first year PhD student in public health, social determinants of health and health inequalities. It's nice to see this positive chat about public health. I dont think it gets enough publicity!
yay i was planning on putting down public health as my major when i (hopefully) transfer in next yr at usc! rly great to hear more insight, and totally motivated to actually go with it now
I loved this video! I am going to be on the premed track, and for a while i considered majoring in biology. However, I think that majoring in something like public health, or psychology will be more beneficial to me because I am more interested in these aspects of medicine. I also want to minor in a foreign language. Thank you for representing a different "pre-med" major!
Thank you so much for this video. I am currently a undeclared health and human service major and I am currently working into switching into the Nursing program but then I've heard about Public Health and was considering it as a back up plan if nursing doesn't work out. Because of this video I really might consider it more and more again thank you so much!! ❤️
i really appreciate this video because i'm graduating this year and will go to uni next year, but i'm so conflicted between so many different fields & it comforts me to know that its ok to switch and my first year doesn't necessarily define my whole future💜
i love this! i’m a bio major, but am planning to minor in public health. it is definitely an underrated field of study and took a paradigm shift to view the healthcare field less from a scientific and medical standpoint to a public health pov!!
I am a CRNA newly graduate and i think its not the right major for me so i start googling graduate programs that may offer what i am interested in and i found mph which is a flexible program that opens many doors in the health field i am interested in mental health
The Way You Say Your Things And Put across The Platform Is simply Awesome. The Filming has got much better May Gao Has improved A Lot. Idk But your videos Are becoming drug of inspiration for me. I have sets Of question If You Could Answer It would be great. 1. What Shall I do to apply For Usa University (currently Studying in India) 2. what universities Are good for Major In Business Administration . 3. How could you be so cute? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂(Ps : A joke)
Where can you work with a public health. I've been on the nursing track ever since and now I'm close to applying but it seems impossible I will apply but if I don't get in I will switch my major to public health. My end goal is physician assistant school but I need a good degree also that pays atleast above average as I have families looking up to me
Thank you so much for this video! Ive been trying to figure out what school to go to for public health, how would you say Brown is in terms of its public health program? Like how developed is it in terms of class number and quality of education? Are there many internship and research opportunities made available by Brown? Whats the job outlook post-Brown?
I found out that you chose health and human biology. I've also learned the 4 blood types in biology when I was a freshman, and I'm just curious do you know what's your blood type? Which one out of the 4 blood types is you?
I'm taking a biomedical informatics class this semester! It's an intersection between public health, computer science, and biology. If you're interested in AI/ML, electronic health records, and digitization in health generally you'd probably enjoy it. www.brown.edu/academics/medical/about-us/research/centers-institutes-and-programs/biomedical-informatics/courses-0
Does your undergraduate college really matter for premed? Is it better to go to a cheaper state school than a more selective private school that is more expensive, especially if you have intentions of going to medical school?

Stay on the nursing track. There are more opportunities in that field. This major is useless after graduation, whereas a nursing degree is not!

Hey I am majoring in public health planning on becoming a Physicians Assistant
My end goal is physician assistant too. And I have always being on the nursing route but it seems quite impossible cos it's too competitive like damn
USC doesn't have undergrad public health
I believe it's technically Health Promotion, hpdp.usc.edu/education.php?sub=HPDP
What is the song in the intro?plz tell me
It's in the description box
Do you guys know anything about health informatics?
I'm taking a biomedical informatics class this semester! It's an intersection between public health, computer science, and biology. If you're interested in AI/ML, electronic health records, and digitization in health generally you'd probably enjoy it.

this was INSANELY helpful and validating, especially as a future global health major at usc! This really made me feel better about my choice.

Hi Mihir, feel free to dm me on instagram or email me for my thoughts!
while it technically doesnt matter, i think the opportunities at elite colleges are helpful for premeds
