Very helpful advice! I’ll be starting my first year as a pre med student this fall. I’ll definitely be keeping this in mind!

this is a great video!!! I am a senior in high school. Not sure if you will see this because you posted it 3 years ago lol, but instead of just majoring in bio could I double major with bio as one of them? Or have a concentration? I am planning on majoring in biochem, but if i double majored would it actually be worth it/ or med committees reviewing my application see it as bland even though there is another major
also to add I plan on going to a top med school and not sure if they look for double major, I got into a great school but can't afford it so i will just be going to my state university

I think you have to decide on why you want to double major - if there is another subject you really want to learn more about or to make your application more competitive. If it is the latter, I don't know how much double majoring will help with that just by itself. Ultimately, I think the strongest applicants have very strong narratives and clearly defined out 'why' they ended up pursuing what they did. I hope that helps!

Hi beautiful, hey, so will work experience in the field, along with the prerequisets make for a stronger application over someone who does not have work experience but went to a strong pre med program ?

This helped; I want to do physics, but am consistently clouded with uncertainty do you think it is possible to do?

I like physics too! My #1 advice is to talk to your premed advisor, they can go over a 4 year plan with you that will cover all of the classes you need. (if your school doesn’t have one there are free ones online) That said, it’ll be more difficult, I majored in psychology and even though psychology is basically 1/4 of the MCAT, I’ve been studying nearly full time for ~ 6 mo to get to my goal score. I’d encourage you to go for physics! But remember that the medical stuff is really important knowledge

This is so helpful!! Thank you! I am worried about attending a less prestigious undergraduate college. Will it hinder my ability to get into a top medical school such as Yale?

Thank you! So there is no reason for why it should keep you from getting into a top medical school. What ultimately matters more than anything is how you do in school, your MCAT score, your extracurriculars and your passion for medicine.

@@monikabapna Thank you so much for the reassurance! I will do my best to make the most of the opportunities.
