    • @Brad-qw1te

      Literally just do the problems in the book and if u cant do it look it up on youtube or read the text book.
      If you want to get an A read every textbook chapter and watch videos on every subtopic (do the example problems as you watch the videos)
      Thats literally it, school is so easy nowadays just use the internet.
      Also start studying 3 or 4 days before the exam if not more and study as much as possible on your first day of studying so you get a good grip on what you know/ dont know.
      Its really just how much time you put in

    I'm honestly here for the show...I'm done with Undergrad and Grad. I wish tips like this were around a couple of years ago and I am not in your field. Your blessed because you have friends who care and you all are studying together for a common goal...$$$...joking. Seriously though I was in IT. I failed Stats, yup got an F...attended classes and everything. Next semester got a B. Guess what kids...still got in my field. I was hired because I reminding the interviewer of her son...let that sink in. Anyway my biggest problem in Grad school...Stats was Undergrad...were the people. I was already in my field. People don't want to listen, well younger people. May is giving good advice about talking with your professors. I tried to get people to do that....nah. Anyway...at the end of the day, you have to really want that degree...and then you might not even need it. Guess what...I failed Stats again in Grad school and then passed. Guess what I do all day now...Stats...I finally got it after Grad school and learned I really love math and am quite good at it...go figure. Oh, I forgot to mention, at my school, you have to attend class. One teacher saw that the majority of students in our finance class were not showing up (class was @ 9pm), so he made it mandatory to have a quiz every class. If you finished it you could go. Me and another guy worked together and would finish every time in like 10 minutes. So May, you're blessed...I had to attend, online or not...unless it was fully online. I'm done rambling. Oh I'm not dumb...still got a 3.8 GPA but it don't mean nothing...that's just society way of classifying people.

    did taking science AP classes/exams in high school provide you with a sufficient amount of knowledge to do well in corresponding college level classes?

    • @MayGao
      @MayGao  5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      I would say that any AP/IB background knowledge can be helpful to a certain extent, but nothing can really “prepare” you in the sense of “getting ahead” for college classes. As related to this video, I took AP Bio and AP Chemistry; neither really directly translated into my coursework in college, but I think they probably helped me develop the necessary studying/critical thinking skills. Not necessarily a bad thing though-everyone is pretty much at the same level of preparation for each class so that’s comforting.

    • @MayGao
      @MayGao  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If you’re planning on eventually applying to medical school, calc and chemistry are requirements so if your goal is to take the AP to get out of a requirement, then no. If you want to be prepared for those classes when you take them again in college, then yes. If your “dream” colleges do placements in chemistry based on AP credit (look up CHEM 0100 and CHEM 0330 on Brown’s website for an example or watch my Premed series on TH-cam), then yes to taking AP chemistry. My video on Premed Courses might be helpful to you!

      Make sure you understand the major concept before doing the problem. It might help to (mentally) categorize problems by type or concept. Then, do as many problems as you can and check answers. If you get things wrong, don’t move on until you understand why. Repetition is my only major advice.
