Sorry to all the fans, but I know you want to improve, so here are the reasons why your coffee splash looks bad: It basically all comes down to you treating it like a 2D shape instead of a 3D object. Color: Don't neglect the fact that this is a semitransparent object against a white background! The reason it's darker in some places and lighter in others is because the block of liquid coffee is thinner in some areas so more light passes through. Form: This is like a sheet or blanket of coffee being stretched apart by wind resistance and clumped together by surface tension as it flutters through the air. It's basically made of spheres. The swirly lines aren't just swirly lines. They're partially-disrupted laminar flow; 3D pillars of brown water with ripples running through them! Texture: This isn't "rubbery." Rubbery is more matte and opaque. If anything, water-based liquids are going to be super shiny, like glass or plastic. Recommendations: Study slow-motion video of liquid splashes. Double down on Form. 3D fluid simulations are great because they're simplified in a way that has nothing to do with 2D art theory. Good luck! I'm looking forward to seeing your follow-up! :)

is it okay to copy the art style if you like it? Or copy how they draw bodies and put pieces of art styles you like from other artist into one? Would that be creating your own art style or?
There's never really been an "original artstyle". Most artstyles are inspired by cartoons, realism, anime etc. I recommend using an artstyle that not only do you like, but also that your comfortable with.
I forgot the youtuber's channel, but his main point is: art style is about problem solving. Example: you have to draw an arm, how you do it is your style.
On the side note, "everyone" is stealing, even since centuries ago.
Thank goodness you upload at perfect time lmao
I don't know any artists so how should I reference one and where? Should I just go to Deviantart and just find one? Also the understanding thing part, I don't even know why ppl draw what they draw or what the story is
I think you should start with fandoms you like! Each fandom, no matter how big or small, has good fan artists.
@@ph0ban I don't understand lol. I don't think I should get into drawing at all when I'm not creative at all. Like I can't draw anything
@@Jun_ljs Drawing isn’t always something people are born with. Creativity and drawing can be developed as long as you take the first step. If you want to draw, draw! Don’t hold yourself back.
i didnt expect that sponsor
Thanks now i understand how use reference correctly
Its okay to tracing the reference images to LEARN the basic shapes like body and hand.
Thanks, very helpful
>Don't let anyone tell you references are cheating or they make you a bad artist
>Flashes 4chan logo
Oh no... don't tell me you had to suffer through /ic/ as well. That place is an absolute hellhole and the brainworms nearly killed my motivation completely.
"You might not think this looks great" no it looks really good
How did you get your basic brush?
Thanks, I've been waiting for this XD
14:45 am I color blind or is that purple and not light blue?
ooh you got a sponsor
This has always confused me, but lets say I'm on pinterest and I draw the pose of a character. Just the pose, nothing else. Would that be tracing? I get that you don't own a pose but it's something that has been on my mind lately.
No, it’s not tracing. Artists reference poses all the time.
No, any human/animal can move in any given way. It wouldn’t be copying unless you draw the character/something similar to the character that is on the original image,
Drawing is like learning to read for the first time 😂😂
can i just reference another artist’s pose? like purely just the pose
yes!! no one actually owns a pose
Hello, I'm new to digital art, can you make a video about layers, multiply layers of an illustration? I can see you have a lot of layers on your project and I don't quite understand
I search on twitter or instagram to find references of....uhhh.. But so far, the most effecient way for me to make my "art" look better is by watching hyanna speedpaint
TY
surfshark created in 2018
somenormalartist ; I used surfshark in my school days.
me : hmmmmmmm okayyyy
Off-topic but why do people use a multiply layer instead of just a darker color i use it in very rare cases but it seems like most people start off with that for shading btw not throwing shade just genuinely curious and seeing if I’m missing out on some thing
Osmamthus wine
tastes the same as I remember..
but where are those who share...
the memory…
I don't know how to continue this! Sorry for breaking the chain-
@@Yuunarichu then why did u comment plsss
Wait this actually helps a bunch! Imma go and draw soon with these tips now
Do you have discord group?
I relly love your anime style its so damn cute
14:48 that kinda looks like a purple to me, very light purple. Like a lilac. Are my eyes fucked or something?
I see lilac too O_o
Hot pink with a little green tint & minecraft steve's shirt color (terquise)
@@iiReTr0Z you telling me you saw turquoise? serious?
@@Madgamer4561 am talking about both colors. Pink was described first, and what i called terquise was the green color.
Does anyone know what brush was used for the line art for the sketch at 14:00 ?
I misread the thumbnail as "Am I an ant thief"
