LOVE your series. I will say, if this was my first time playing, this may move a little fast for a first timer guide, given how overwhelming this game can feel at first. But also, for anyone who might feel that, Phennix already created a much slower and more step by step version of this with his early access series (that still holds up despite all the changes with 1.0). Check it out! I don’t want to derail the pace of this new playthrough, but just want to let people know about the other option if some of the details in this are feeling too fast paced. Love your work, keep doing you!

I’m just trying to separate myself now (having followed previous videos of yours which were very helpful) from someone watching who just got dumped on the planet with literally NO clue. I was that person previously (having never played a Factorio or even a Minecraft style game before) who appreciated the more prescriptive videos you were making previously because they were particularly helpful for me at the time. However, you’ve already made those versions of those videos, and it’s exciting to see you make a new set where you’re being incredibly thorough about mechanics but not labouring over “this foot should be aligned with this edge of the flooring material” etc. I’m honestly not trying to discourage your pace, I just wanted to suggest to anyone (such as my past self) who might be overwhelmed by the overwhelming nature of the game to check out your past playlist, because it still holds up in 1.0! Love your videos
@eddeh0772 No.. I understand. I just thought I was still covering it at that slow of a pace and as descriptive as before. I want people to get as much from these as they would have out of the previous series. In your opinion? What do I need to change?
@@PHENIXXCREATES I think the only main difference to before is that you used to spend a little more time over precise placements of constructors and belts etc, like how they lined up with the patterns on the floor. And that was fairly important when you were building super tight arrangements (I remember struggling with your previous factory for instance with the placements on your logistics floor where your were sending all your iron outputs up to the second level, especially when you added a copper layer and things were super hard to navigate in like a 1 meter tall space). Although to be fair, that might feel like overkill given all the new guides, snapping, and auto-right angle tools we have now. Honestly, I wouldn’t change what you’re doing currently. I feel like you’re building with those lessons in mind and also can afford to shortcut some of that stuff. Plus, I may have been a little tipsy when I left my previous comments so can’t admit to FULLY remembering what prompted me to say that specifically!!! Still the best tutorials I’ve found on this game, regardless!
I think I should mention, that if you have not researched any of the ore in the MAM and have not unlocked any tier 2 Milestones, then there is only 3 alternative receipt that can be unlocked, so you can garanti getting the "cast screws" receipt by getting 2 hard drives.
You make the best easy to follow instructions for new players. I followed your old build to learn how to play, been away a long time, and now I'm following your new build :) Can't wait for the next episode! Keep up the amazing content!
@PHENIXXCREATES, I have been following you since your old series and this one is just as amazing. I started out with a mission to unlock a bunch of stuff (All the way through Tier 7) immediately which resulted in all kinds of spaghetti. I have now saved all those resources, ripped everything down and am rebuilding along with you. The only modification I have made (because I have it unlocked) was that I replaced the biomass burners with 4 coal plants on the platform behind the hub. This may mess up things for your future plans but I was willing to take that chance. They just fit so perfectly I couldn't resist.
Naw.. you build how you want. :) I just show people the basics.. if you got coal you are already way ahead. I'm not sure yet how I was gonna do my coal power since there's not much water in that vicinity nearby. Probably the same way I did it last time in the Lake Pit.
@PHENIXXCREATES There is a small little body of water on the other side of the big archway. It's not a super clean run but it worked. I think you can fit 3 or 4 pumps in it. This may just be temporary for me though until I build my fuel generators out.
@@PHENIXXCREATES No, that is due east. This is the body of water that is more North by Northeast. The water by the sulfur node only holds about one pump there cause the water is pretty shallow.
