About: Satisfactory
Satisfactory is a first-person open-world factory building game with a dash of exploration and combat. Pioneering for FICSIT Incorporated means charting and exploiting an alien planet, battling alien lifeforms, creating multi-story factories, entering conveyor belt heaven, automating vehicles, and researching new technologies.
This Factorio like game has heavy automation, with automated mining, crafting, and you can even automate movement!

Hope you enjoyed the second episode! We're hoping to get a lets play episode out each week! The guided playthrough is also in the making so hopefully you'll see some more indepth gameplay soon!
Only 10 minutes in and it's great. Bit of feedback: could you put a reference to the Let's Play somewhere in the title going forward? I almost skipped this one because I didn't want to watch what I presumed was a 1-hour starter base tutorial!
Hey, just a question, could you put the console command you used for Lumen in the description or in your pinned comment? :P
Fabric cant be used as fuel for biomass burners since for 1.0
Where's the first episode?
Hey buddy, I think i remember you saying in your light up barriers video you wish it shows on both sides, not sure if you're aware but you can just put another sign back to back with the first and you then have lights on both sides (basically, 2 signs back to back and barrier over the top) :)
I would include ‘Ep 2’ in the title like you did in your first one to increase engagement and understanding that this is the second ep of the series
Hes probably doing it so more people click on the video, because videos with Episode numbers on in dont get clicked so well.
But im on your side i was confused aswell until he said it thats the second episode...
@@Lucass097I guess I'm weird then, as I'm LESS likely to click the ones without an episode number as I'm not interested in tutorials or showcases, just in the playthroughs. I clicked this one because of the preview looked like a playthrough and I guessed correctly.
@@paulnieuwkamp8067 likewise, I prefer watching the playthroughs and keeping up with them in my notifications is hard without an ep number
@@paulnieuwkamp8067yeah but most people dont Click on Like Episode 10 because they havent watched the 9 episodes before
That and proper numbering will allow auto play to play through it all easily, next to that the tags need updating too.
Just as a heads up, if you put the pipes around the outside of the pond you can fit six pumps in there with a bit of finessing. For my playthrough, that is what I did to get a 1200 MW coal plant (16 generators) going off of just that little pond and a Mk3 belt from a Mk2 miner on the coal by the cliff edge.
I managed to fit eight in there. Four along the eastern length, two more facing the south side, and two more in the remaining space. That pond is much better than you'd expect at first glance!
I have never put foundations in the water. I just snap the first extractor to a pipe junction on the pier and adjacent extractors will snap to that first one. Works like a charm.
... builds 'starter factory' cooler than any factory I've ever built :(
His starter factory has 7000+ hours of experience and knowledge put into it.
Why are u not using straight mode??????
@@Usefulidiot038 This is very important for people to see and know. Don't compare yourself to some of the youtuber and top reddit builds. It's done by people who invested literally half a year or more of game time into Satisfactory. Any base you make is good as long as you try. With time you will also improve. Don't get discouraged by seeing those factories and not being able to do the same.
Yeah, when he said that next time he’s going to factor in natural light when building a factory I cracked up. Meanwhile, I’ve got everything just sprawled out in the open.
You'll get there man. Time, practice and dedication to the craft!
Tips for getting Dimensional storage.
1. Find S.A.M. and mine it.
2. Build a M.A.M. next to S.A.M. Yes, you can build more than one M.A.M.
3. Build a Constructor to make Reanimated SAM.
4. Use the crafting bench to make SAM Fluctuators. Make sure you take Wire and 10 modular frames, Steel Pipe and 5 Mercer Spheres. The pipes you can find searching for Hardrives.
5. Research the Dimensional Depot Uploader.
6. Place Miner MK1, Place 1 constructor, into a storage container and finally into1 x Depot. Reduce the constructor to make 2 per min, underclock the miner to Mine 10 per min.
7. Power it all with a biomass burner running at about 2% with solid biofuel. This will run for hours.
8. You now have unlimited Reanimated SAM on demand from your dimensional inventory.
9. Return to your base, go about your business.
10. Whenever you need to make SAM Fluctuators, make them at a crafting bench from the dimensional inventory. The SAM mining setup will then refill it again over time.
No point in underclocking biomass burners, it only burns as much fuel as needed by the machines. The only underclocking that matters is on the power consumption side
@mortache I thought that Power plants will burn the resource to the % efficency you set. I was unaware that it only consumes what the load requirements are. Even if you have no machines connected it will still use the resource?
@@supaflysit553 you can just check it yourself. Connect a bio reactor to an assembler, check the fuel consumption progress and then delete the assembler and check again
7:00 Interesting choice of location for coal power. I used that lake for Wet Cement since there was so much limestone around it. Just north of it was a much larger lake, and TWO pure coal nodes, which I made my coal plant.
He stated he didn't want to build there as he did it last time. Also there's 4, not 2 coal nodes there all normal with one being blocked by a large rock. I know as I am currently building there in my current gameplay.
"I'm rethinking this, I need a basher! ..and a new pair of underpants" 😂😂
I felt this so much 😂
Coffee Stain Studio: We don't want to add base defense because we want the game to be relaxig
Also Coffee Stain Studio: Here are spiders, also Alpha Spiders, also radiated Alpha Spiders!
I swear the moment I accidentally fell into a cave and was surrounded by a swarm of spiders was the scariest moment in my 15+ years of gaming.
Well, the wildlife isn't trying to destroy your base.
Feel like Satisfactory would be getting pretty close to Starship Troopers if there were waves of giant spiders you had to defend your factory from.
Like... you're in the engineer corp. now, private.
I'd so wish they add turrets and tower defense mechanics as a separate option. I get why people don't wish to worry about swarms of enemies, but personally i find having 100 turrets annihilating enemies relaxing and satisfying.
The arachnophobia mode for the spiders is even scarier because it doesn't turn off the spider noises, it just adds meows to the spider noises and a 2d cat pic over them, you still see their legs. Much like how deadpool stapled hugh jackmans face to his face.
Random thought that jumped into my head, man would some research to add more than one connection to machines and a connector to both sides of the train station would be lovely.
Fun shortcut for your next play through… if you cut down the blue trees in that biome, you get silica
Fantastic build, Xclipse.
It's really interesting watching how you, Kylo, Bitz, Kibitz & Nilaus all go about your builds.
I like that you seem to be taking your time and love that you decided to decorate that initial factory.
I keep saying I'll do mine... and have yet to do much of anything. Which is typical for me, lolz.
I love the fact that they extended the map in the lower left corner. always built my base there and railed everything in on the island but the limitation was annoying but now the entire island is available. awesome location with 0 resources
The absolute horror screams with the spiders is funny af
I'm definitely not the type to fuss over architecture. But the cool looking builds and the joy in Total's voice when one comes together does put a smile on my face.
Thanks for the video! I am about 40 hours in and my base is around the same area. When I saw you lay the foundations over the cliff to the Coal I nearly fell off my seat. I did not know you could build it over cliffs like that :)
Don't forget while exploring that you can build a box to dimensional depot setup on the fly and offload those small stacks of valuable things! Holds you over until you get direct uploads.
One question that I keep having in the back of my mind is rough goals of outputs of certain items at each stage of the earlier game. With the wealth of content around the game at the moment it's very easy to have production lines that far exceed your needs. Trying to go back in and split things off to alter production lines, the space constraints are readily felt. I am thinking it's time to start building the main factory that will be taken into endgame, but not sure if I am quite at that point. Do I sprawl out a little more and do satellite assembles fed by storage chests to build more capital? Do I pull the trigger and start a large foundation for my next base? Do I do a big tear down and redesign my starter factory? I am sure others have reached this point before and figured it could be useful content to make.
No matter how many hours each satisfactory youtuber has, they all have the same reaction to the spiders no matter what. i love it 😭
Your floor looks like a chia pet, and I'm sure that's impacting your efficiency. FICSIT has been notified.
Cool video, considering your big on adding cosmetic changes I assume you know you can get deeper richer colors in the customizer? usually the color slider takes you from 0 to 0.01 0.02 all the way to 1 yes? well as you can see using that scale white is a lite grey and black is a darker grey. if you click on the number and manually enter in -10.0 or +10.0 you get a far better black or white rather than shades of grey.
10:40 huge spiders doesn't fear gas AFAIR.
Blade runners + magic parachute makes exploration (fleeing for your life) much easier, you can just yeet yourself off a cliff (or use an updraft to climb a cliff) to escape.
Wait, there are updrafts?!?
@@paulnieuwkamp8067 It seems if you are parachuting near some inclines you can actually go upwards.
Hey man love the series. Please continue making them! I''m a noob and trying to figure things out so it's great watching your playthrough. Every other youtuber has either made insane progress or continues their previous mega factory save. Your pace is great!
I need a diagram of the number of inputs to outputs by machine. factory planning is tough when you only know your input and not your desired output
Start from your end product and work backwards. If you open any menu screen and click on the far right side of your screen, it'll open a notepad. Pressing the 'N' key opens a dialogue box that let's you search for in game items, and you can use it as a calculator too.
These two tools help a ton. I wouldn't get anything done without my clipboard.
If you unlock the overclocking with sloops you can quadruple output from slugs and the alien remains, so i would recommend this to do first
With having too many hard drives you can also lower your UI scale to see them again. The bug wouldn't have been so bad if it didn't also hide the buttons to clear out the hard drives, lol.
14:36 "I'm no good at parkour". Trust me, no one is. First-person platforming is a plague, and I've only seen it done good twice: Mirror's Edge and Doom 2016 (and Eternal).
Looks great! I’m still getting to grips with my own design sense but yours definitely feels consistent and refined. I do have a question. How many different machines are you using for each material? I couldn’t really tell how many plate constructors, rod constructors, etc. you’re using. Nor how many are dedicated to storage versus going on to be used in reinforced plates/modular frames/ etc. I’d love some guidance on how you’re deciding where your resources are invested.
Me: oh I added concrete pillars to my factory walls and a glass roof and it looks awesome. What a pro move.
Totalxclipse: "I added some nice little details off camera and I like the copper finish here..."
Me: my factory sucks
When conveyors don't turn/snap correctly try switching build modes. It won't always fix it but I find sometimes the straight mode will bug out like that on turns that work in the old mode.
If you build a pipeline support or Intersection, you can just hold Ctrl to snap the Water Extractor to that spot instead of building foundations. Also, maybe I missed it, but where is the lit barriers from? I have the barrier unlocked from the Awesome shop, but I'm not seeing the lit option.
The lit barriers are a custom blueprint he made by slotting signs inside the barrier
@@joshhamilton3727 Thanks, that makes sense. They look they could be a standard option as that sign is laid in there perfectly.
@@Dave83138 I believe he has a video or a TH-cam short demonstrating how to make it yourself. You should try incorporating it in your builds, pretty cool!
Hey man, please put episode numbers after the title in your let's play series! It's hard to know what's a let's play and what's a guide 😊
If I put numbers people don't want to watch the later ones because they're X videos behind - best to follow the playlist so you get them in order 🙂
@@TotalXclipse hey man, thanks for replying!.. huh that's interesting! I guess you'd know best looking at your own analytics. I'll be sure to keep up on the playlist then 👍
@@TotalXclipse I'm really glad you relented and put "Ep 2" in the title. You put out a lot of content (all of which I love!), and I know I could use a playlist, but it really does make it much easier to tell whether any given new video is part of the LP series or not. I appreciate there is a downside for you to that, but as someone who'd be consuming all your content anyway, you making it easier for me to do that is much appreciated :)
I find night too short actually, but I put street lights on all my blueprints😂
Not the only one whos noticed the darker lumen, I made a post on the forum, needs more upvotes because the small signs especially hardly throw any light out now, compared to version 8.
Ive tried all the different modes aswell thinking it was something to do with the moody/dark bright combos. Standard Bright looks the closest to v.8 but its still much darker.
You are on episode 2 and have all this stuff already dam. I have been playing since early access and never reached coal lol. It's all so overwhelming and you make it look so easy.
It always amazes me, your designs. You started with a very mediocre slab factory, then some bizarre floating floors, then really odd walls, then boom, a masterpiece in exterior design. 😀
Next TotalXclipse playthrough: factory powered only by automated fabric-fed biomass burners.
Just kidding, we need him sane to keep making content.
Man I need to find the time to watch learn and then play. Can I not just hire you and sit with and learn? There is a market there. Need more guru hire websites
Thank you so much for these videos. I've just made my first factory up to Tier 4 and have a centralise storage and safe to say... OH GOD, I don't blame the local wildlife for attacking me.
I now want to fix it and start to make a better build (maybe leave the old factory as a dedication to the hubris of humanity. So watching these is really helping me plan ahead.
One issue I struggle with is trying to move my resources around to centralised storage or from there to a location where its needed (I don't have a train system as I'm still much earlier in the game), so currently it looks like a map of the London underground as conveyer belts coming from all over the map.
I would really like to see a lets build on this "starter" factory, its really amazing.
Oo instantly when I saw the location I was like “that’s my area!”
You know, I'm glad that there's someone else out there who panics their pants off when fighting the Stingers. The Alphas are just a complete nuisance. I don't even have a whiff of arachnophobia, but their inherent stealthiness coupled with relentless hit-and-run tactics make them really, really stressful to fight. Not to mention they hit like tanks.
on the thing with having too many hard drives scanned and being unable to click the option you want. you can shrink your ui and still click!
Or just type in the search bar
Looks like you make the same "mistake" I made when switching to 1.0: Because of the dimensional storage unit there is no need for all that centralisation anymore. You can just plop a 90 ipm concrete factory on a node in the middle of nowhere, feed it into the void and, voilà, you have concrete available everywhere. This is especially true for "final" products that are used more for construction than for automated recipes like computers, crystal oszillators or copper sheets.
Your level of organization and everything is incredible. It really makes me want to just trash my save and start over since I kind of know what I'm doing now just after phase two lol
How come in a precious video you pointed out the tip that if the belt got squiggly, you could try going the other way, but in here you didn't and tore everything down?
i might only be a casual noob but just as you can't live without the blade-runners, i can't go anywhere without a parachute equipped. everytime i saw you falling on screen i was hitting space-bar on my keyoard. :D and did you know you can sprint-glide most (natural) slopes upwards faster than you can run with the blade-runners? not so sure about foundation ramps. think it only works in nature.
Works on ramps too.
I love the content, awesome work! Seeing you as scared as myself of spiders made me laugth.
It's not ADA's fault you don't know how to close the bathroom door!
Dude you live in the spot my base is also set up my mans
Today’s forecast: 80% chance of spider webs. - Thanks For the Content
just turn on the mode so you see cats insted of spiders
Silly me, I just set the critters to passive so I can get some work done. 😎
Why don't you use the "Straight" option for building conveyor belts? It's way more convenient
imagine an update where every now and then you'd see a dark figure in your factory ( the bigger the factory the more chances you get to see that siluette of a ficsit worker ) in the distance. like you're revisiting an old memory or something.
Like Odin in Valheim?
@@atle2008 something like that.. but perhaps it's your past self before you arrived at the planet ? it adds just a little bit of a mystery
Maybe you should just start saying that they already did, that's how Herobrine from Minecraft got started lol
Since you mentioned that lake beeing smaller than you remember..... it kinda feels like that in a many areas. So DID the wold actually get smaller or is it just my imagination? I really like your videos by the way ;)
How did you make the walls bright white?
I've only been able to get the colour hack to work with frames.
Blue lagoon SW is great for a big coal operation btw.
Way ahead of you 😉 were working on compacted coal there currebtly
I tried to also make the Double Barrier Lighting Orange and can't get it to work, how did you do it? lol. Each time I place them together, it goes inside and doesn't glow through?
Is there a sheet (or does someone know) where you have all the input/outputs for us? Started at the same place and always struggle to know how much of what I can/should do at the start. Regards
Im disappointed X. You no longer do your high pitched squeal when you see a spider
How do you change the colour of all your factory machine to that grey colour? Rather than the yellow they normally are?
Press X and change the first Swatch it's the default one
Absolutely beautiful.
You say Parkour, I say, Ladder time.
Edit: hows your brown pants? ;)
The pants have already been set on fire - new pair arriving tomorrow
That's a more entertaining reaction to spyders than my wife! 😆
I honestly didn’t realise this was a let’s play
Is that a good thing or a bad thing? 😅
@@TotalXclipse oh it’s a good thing! I just didn’t realise because there’s probably no episode number definitely not a complaint on my half tho the spiders gave me a heart attack 😂
@@TotalXclipse also you wouldn’t have that lumen code from the video I can pinch to copy and paste? My dyslexia did not like me coping it from hearing it 😅
@@DTheWhiteWolfD Sure: r.AOGlobalDistanceField.MinMeshSDFRadius 1
I'll probably do a guide covering some other commands at a later date too
Wow, this is beautiful
on the 32 min mark, why even bother, build a path and let that thing just fall down when deleting the floor. Easier to deal with then the atomic spieders lol
whats going on with the texture flickering, are the devs aware of this?
Amazing build.
Are you really that afraid of the spiders? I get the "shivers down my spine" part but do you have full on arachnophobia?
You should have made the parachute its the early game glider
No matter how many times I restart with a plan my starter factory never looks good or clean or even planned out.
Your much braver then me thank god for crazy cat pic's
One word… Parachute!
Hahaha so awesome to see how horrible you are at exploring considering how amazing you are at the building aspects :D
Maybe lable this episode 2?
The bean/tick creatures are sooo annoying, they keep bumping my trucks and delaying production :(
And that NOISE.... it honestly sounds like some gigantic booming bosslevel narrator voice, laughing at you
Thats why i tag the arachnaphobia mode.😂😂😂
If this is a playthrough why are you not numbering them?
is there a reason you use 2m and 4m blocks instead of the 1m?
I believe the 1m has some weird stuff with the world grid, so it won't snap cleanly to other stuff sometimes.
@@jefferylittleton1005apparently this changed in 1.0, they no longer do this. I prefer 4m foundations as my first layer as it covers more changes in terrain, but of course you don't have to start / stay at ground level.
Yeh, less foliage comes through if it's higher up 🙂
If you build a generator then you can snap the water extractor without building foundations under water. Also, 1 extractor underclocked to 75% runs 2 coal generators. Simpler and saves power.
Destin Viaduct
Is there a mode in the game where you just build and no enemies? I like the game but the combat part makes me doubt.
yes - its automatically set as passive now for new saves i believe
@@Jkolzy Thanks!
hehe, SAM Ore
being new to satisfactory I feel the creator of this video jumps too fast or makes cuts that leave me stranded if I try to copy him.
I know chances you see this comment are small, but what are your light settings in the game?
Maybe add in the title letsplay #2 it's kind of misguiding
you used to be abled to burn fabric yeah, but not anymore.
Oh no? Interesting
If you had an auto harvester for wood and leaves, then you could fully automated biomass power. Devs are you reading this?
You're not supposed to automate that. You want to move on to coal power for automation. Biomass is supposed to be limited to pressure you to progress.
Dude!!!! best i've ever seen.
damn..im a bit more advanced than you and the most proud building I have is the 4x4 ... i sucks XD
Nah, we're just playing it differently, I wanted to push clean builds from the start, you'll get there soon!
If you have the xenobasher or the candy cane you can swipe the projectiles out of the air
The 8 coal generators is only possible with the pipeline 2 because the first pipeline is limited to 300 and we need 360.
If you noticed, he built the pipes in a way that the first extractor forks ito two pipes with the goal of the average flow rate of the left and right pipe to be 180.each
@@AnthonyDayo It's not how fluid works, at least in real life not sure about the game.
@@fanturi it works that way in the game yes. Why wouldn't it work that way in real life? Can one large pipe not split into two smaller pipes? In this case 180 units of water go into each pipe. Why would real life be different?

"i don't like ADA" guess I'll unsubscribe then 😁
How did you get those concrete pillars to be white?
"Starter" kkkkkkkkk
"Starter" factory.... 😅
