I have Bill Evans at the Village Vanguard as a re-mastered 3 CD set... Very very good....
I also pre-ordered today. These will be my first UHQRs.

I agree with the previous comments. Same few albums over and over. We all love that music but, as a long time collector, it’s obvious that Chad and all the rest of the remaster guys are missing a bunch of great music. For instance, the Atlantic jazz catalog - no MJQ, Jimmy Giufree or Art Farmer? Brubeck recorded many great albums for Columbia but Time Out, my first jazz album ever, is the only one that is ever paid attention to. Sad.
Both were preordered immediately, my favorite albums and would get every good release of them, of course except ERC’s which is about $2000 for Sunday. I understand that AP and Craft OJC releases are amazing, but some of us are crazy about Jazz and especially Bill Evans and won’t miss a chance. Thanks for the video!

That's a great set, it was on my radar but it is a bit out of my price range for for records.
Understanding the vision of UHQR, there is no way these titles would ever be left out. I'm personally awaiting a Wayne Shorter, Lee Morgan, Chet Baker, etc..
Those are three great jazz musicians 👏 👍I would buy all three depending on the album
And Lou Donaldson and Duke Pearson!
Sunday at the Village Vanguard : i have bought back in 2017 the MFSL One -Step, i don't think this UHQR will be better. BUT : i have sold the One-Step, because the 1984 OJC version is sooooo good, i don't miss the One_Step !!! OJC : mastered by Gary Hobish, (no George Horn) he signed his cuts by etching "GH" in the runouts (with the tie of the G becoming the crossbar of the H). !!!....so, you can save your money, and just buy those 80's OJC pressings 🙂

I agree it's ridiculous to do the same releases over and over. Both titles were only done recently as all analogue OJC releases. People are tired of the same old releases and want something new.

I am not much of a jazz fan so will be giving these a miss but I am sure they will sell out fast . Looking forward to getting some more titles like the white stripes until then I will stick with Atlantic 75 titles 👍😁 keep up the good work Kenny 👍

The Village done by MSFL is $700>, some over $1,000. I’m glad Acoustic Sounds is taking on the pair of Bill Evans titles.
I'm happy that they issued both sets, definitely looking forward to hear what they sound like.

The Craft OJC's issued recently are fantastic on 33RPM so I am totally good on these titles. The SQ on these OJC's is amazing and the jackets were also given extra special treatment. Hard pass on the UHQRs!

That’s what I thought until yesterday when I had to buy the UHQR . fOMO definitely kicked in but now I’m good
Lets face it folks, UHQR is not for everyone.. But if you're not a fan of Mofi it's a good place to start for that level of quality.
Curious, these albums are jazz masterpieces- however they’re very expensive. I really wonder if it’s worth the investment for those people who don’t have a very robust audio system? - Can you really hear the difference on a decent system that doesn’t cost $10,000..???
I’m open to comments as long as they’re honest …
In my personal opinion $150 records (its actually about $175 when you include tax and shipping) that I mentioned in my video are really not for entry level or lower end systems because they are not capable of revealing the sonic differences from those albums that higher end systems can. I decent analogy is I would not by the best tires money could buy for a 1997 Honda Civic but would for a 2024 Ferrari because that Ferrari was engineered and designed to use those tires...putting those tires on a Honda Civic would simply be a waste of money.
