This illustrates why the wet manifold kit is called the blow-up kit when installed on fuel injected cars in this manner. It injects raw fuel into an intake manifold designed to move air only. The fuel has a tendency to puddle in the intake usually causing a lean condition in at least 1 cylinder. The first lean backfire can ignite all of the fuel in the intake. This can even blow up metal intake manifolds. When installing nitrous on a fuel injected car, either install a dry manifold kit or install a wet kit with the nozzles at the ends of the intake runners, near the fuel injectors, 1 per cylinder. Also, if the bottle is installed in the passenger compartment, it must have the safety pressure relief valve vented outside the car, or it will not pass visual inspection at any sanctioned racing event. For this install, it would have been a simple matter to drill another hole and vent the bottle out the floor. It can be argued that it's not needed when the plan is to blow up the car in a controlled environment, but it should at least be mentioned. Automotive nitrous is NOT breathable, unlike medical nitrous.

@@NabPunk Yeah, you can beat that game with the cars unlocked at the start. If you start to fast at the beginning of a race, the computer car will magically gain more performance to be more "challenging" (or was it "cheating"?). If you start slowly (well, "slowly" compared to what would be possible), the computer car won't get the magic performance upgrade, and you'll be able to pass it near the finish line. I also remember one NFS:U game where I stuck with a car with only performance upgrades, and another car with all the pimping money could buy (the pimping was needed for game progression). You'd pimp your pimp ride enough, you'd get an invitation to a photo shoot with that car and that would unlock the next progression or something. I'd always switch from the pimp ride to the bland performance rise to get to the shoot location, and the underground racing magazine (or whatever that was) would show what looks like a stock car on the title page. The games were fun. Was it NFS Carbon where they'd drop cop cars and Suburbans in front of you? Literally drop. If you went through the curves fast enough, the cars would still be dropping, and with a bit of luck, you'd pass under them before they hit the ground. No need to inhale NO2 for a trippy experience.
The plan was to give the car away anyway and if they actually damaged the engine pretty bad (which for sure would've happened with a stronger intake) it would've been way more expensive and time consuming to fix, and I mean the car's got nitrous! I think it was pretty legit lol
@peterprall857 Partially true. The PT had a metal intake till 2004. Then, they switched over to plastic because it flowed better. But I had a stock 2002 NA Cruiser with a metal intake. It just didn't say turbo on it, it just said 2.4L. But they definitely just need to buy one and throw it on or swap to turbo, or just buy a Turbo cruiser
When I was 16 with my first car.. I tried so hard to rig up an upside down "compressed air" for cleaning PCs, controlled my a bicycle brake cable system to activate the trigger spraying it directly into the intake. Needless to say.. it DEF worked.. but DEF not well at ALL. Lol
I had bought a Dry NOS system when I was in college... (This was before fast and furious came out) .... I had a 1996 Honda Accord V6 automatic... The shop owner said I should only do a 50 shot dry. I did that for a whole week before I graduated myself to a 100 shot dry. I used to run that thing on a 100 alllllll the time. I'd do 125 on the track. It took 50k miles of abuse and a whopping 150shot to finally blow the engine in that car. What a testament to overbuilt Honda's. Even their transmissions back then... Ended up finally ending its life at 160k miles of torture.

Did the Donut audio guy leave too? Listen to 7:04 and tell me that's acceptable audio, you literally can't hear them talking. Find the frequency of the exhaust drone and lower it, and then get the guys some mics
I fondly remember back in the 90's when we ran Nitrous on practically anything we could install it to. We bought the large stand up bottles, purchased a bathroom scale and used a freezer to chill the bottles. I'm still surprised we didn't blow up the shop and ourselves in the process. I did manage to blow torch a hole in 2 pistons when there was a bit of fuel starvation once. That was messy. Good times!
Enterprise was supposed to give me a full-size truck once but gave me a PT. I floored it everywhere and slammed on the brakes every time i had to stop and go. After about 30 min it went into limp mode.
As a tech for Chrysler I can’t help but express how excited I am to see the results of this lol. Still at the beginning of the video but I hope ur using a turbo PT.
So pipe and valve are filled with gaseous NO2. The valve isn't designed for liquid NO2 (although it would probably work). No space between valve and seat, so the bottle wouldn't become a projectile if the car hits an obstacle. It sucks if the crumple zone saves your life, and then a NO2 bottle goes through your head. Well, honestly, there are a few other issues on how it's mounted...

They’ve done very well moving forward same with speed James’s channel as well as big time, I just think there should be some cross channel collaboration. There’s too much fun to be had. These guys should be paid to just do what they do best zero control or consultation.
Heat is not normally a problem with Nitrous, as it actually cools the intake significantly, which is one of the big bonuses of nitrous over other power mods. However, detonation is definitely more of a risk, also running too lean can be a problem if your fuel pump and rail pressure isn't adequate. But nos is still one of the best bang for your buck tuning mods on the market if you do it right.

What aren’t u gunna put a metal intake on and keep going up in psi ???
Now they're owned by big corpos they don't have the budget for a $500 intake manifold. Or a script. Or good presenters / voiceover. Or good mics.
The plan was to give the car away anyway and if they actually damaged the engine pretty bad (which for sure would've happened with a stronger intake) it would've been way more expensive and time consuming to fix, and I mean the car's got nitrous! I think it was pretty legit lol
Can't believe you got Big Time to cameo on your channel. Take notes. Those guys know what they're doing. We love their content.
I’m so glad big time is helping a small channel grow.
Put a aluminum manifold on it... we're not done sciencing yet😂
They should have gotten the 2.4 high output version of the pt. That has the metal manifold
@@arthellstrobles1241 my exact thoughts. But can they afford milling an alloy manifold via CNC machine for it?
This video feels like it was thrown together in a day. Audio is terrible in the car, no actual data compared between runs, just "that feels faster"
I enjoyed this video big time.
underrated
Nah the BigTime videos are more in-depth
So nice that the guys from big time decided to help out a smaller channel
It’s nice to see the guys from Big Time helping out lesser known channels like Donut. Waitta go, guys!
@5:40 that animation for the NOS jets was awesome !
Lol
Danger to manifold 😂😂😂
Why do I like PT cruisers so much? Especially in that colour!
Wait... Is Jimmy ok with you guys giving away his baby? 😂
I came across your channel through this video-case studies are incredibly valuable, and I'm eager to see more in the future! Building wealth involves establishing routines, like consistently setting aside funds at regular intervals for smart investments.
These are all bots btw guys if you're reading this lmao
@@tex4300 so the bots now talk like people in a fake marketing meeting?
This is the true galaxy gas
Wow, this second channel to the BigTime dudes is fun as hell
i love that they mentioned valvoline and i got an actual ad from valvoline on this video that both stated it’s the first old to return to factory clean
Next up:
"How much Nitrous can my stock lungs take?"
kanye?
Did the Donut audio guy leave too? Listen to 7:04 and tell me that's acceptable audio, you literally can't hear them talking. Find the frequency of the exhaust drone and lower it, and then get the guys some mics
Sounds too expensive!
skip to 6:00 .
Good times!
Dude the GRAPHICS WENT OFF this ep!!
Shout out to graphics team DAMN
These two on two videos, the same day. Awesome
Wow, the audio editing sucks in the tracks scenes
Nice to see big time helping a small channel like donut
Great to see a Big Time x Donut collab!
I can't wait for the next speeed and big time episodes!
So kind of the guys from big time helping out a smaller channel
How much nitrous can kanye take
😂
Laughing uncontrollably...literally. 😀
@@Saatviksharma63 till the manifold explodes.
Enterprise was supposed to give me a full-size truck once but gave me a PT. I floored it everywhere and slammed on the brakes every time i had to stop and go. After about 30 min it went into limp mode.
Keep an eye out for a donut video featuring me in the next week or two 👀👀
@@Donut.GT.06 the foreshadowing is insane lol

As a tech for Chrysler I can’t help but express how excited I am to see the results of this lol. Still at the beginning of the video but I hope ur using a turbo PT.
More power BABY it’s a shame this channel will never the the same
New Donut employees coming up!
Jimmy has been there longer than jobe and jeremiah
Why'd you mount the bottle with the valve crammed up against the back seat??
So pipe and valve are filled with gaseous NO2. The valve isn't designed for liquid NO2 (although it would probably work).
No space between valve and seat, so the bottle wouldn't become a projectile if the car hits an obstacle. It sucks if the crumple zone saves your life, and then a NO2 bottle goes through your head. Well, honestly, there are a few other issues on how it's mounted...
7:53 ... what are you doing?? lay it over as both start at the same benchmark... wtf how is this a legit comparison
Was gonna say that 😂
I love stuff like this. I love putting on stuff that we know for a fact at some point is going to explode or destroy said engine. But what I really miss is everybody all under one roof. I love donut. They’ve done very well moving forward same with speed James’s channel as well as big time, I just think there should be some cross channel collaboration. There’s too much fun to be had. These guys should be paid to just do what they do best zero control or consultation.
*Dude, I love this car! Why would you give it away? Build it!! These things deserve more love*
I work at Costco as a cashier. Less than 1 hour ago I had a customer with a t-shirt that said donut. I said is that donut media like the car guys channel? His jaw dropped. He said I'm the 1st person to ever guess right.
Now make a custom sheet metal intake, and keep going in the nitrous till the motor explodes 😂
SHEET METAL?
@@eatsmylifeYT Pro Stock drag racers have been making sheet metal intakes since the mid 70's...
the early turbo model PT's come with a metal intake
@@Good-Nuff-Garage Yeah. As a mechanic, I shouldn't have been surprised. If intakes can be made out of plastic, they certainly can be made from sheet metal.
I wonder why I reacted that way.
Those guys from bigtime are so entertaining to watch, and pretty knowledgeable too
Good crossover BigTime and Donut
You guys should hire that Jobe fellow, he seems great.
Theyll run out of videos with good people eventually 😂
