      Awesome tips on porting, do you have an update on how the car performed with the porting and Kadrons?

    Holley bug spray is what you want for single port heads easy to work on that way great performance

      Oh snap! A single cab! That’s real cool! I think here I’ve only seen one “once” lol
      one thing the single ports I like is with port clean up like this and a good valve job? it awakens with a good grunt! iMO perfect for a single cab!

      @@SRDmotorsports Do you change to bigger ones? I'm building an okrasa 36hp monster at the moment on my channel and looking at getting bigger valves put in:)

      @@Demop_VW_garage oh snap I havnt checked urs il check tonight!
      Well cost effectiveness the 35.5 intake is “okay” for anything under 1700cc
      BUT a 37.5mm intake def wont hurt and it might give the notion of a little more response with the right cam or stock cam

      @@SRDmotorsports good to hear, the 1641 is running the stock cam and single carbie but no porting so I’ll give that a go first I guess 👍🏽

    You know its kinda rare to see these beetles with its original motor actually getting worked on, usually people would EJ swap them and they turn into rockets haha but this is the first time I'm seeing these motors somewhat tore down which is really cool

    I would like to purchase a set of your ported single port vw heads sent to Phoenix, Arizona for my 1960 bug. It will be a 1600 possibly long stroke 1.7 liter. Let me know when you find nice set of unwelded German cores. Thank you for posting great stuff for the vw community.

    would porting the single port head like that lessen low-end torque but make more power on the high side?

    • @SRDmotorsports
      @SRDmotorsports  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I think the torque will stil remain and improve…
      The top end will mostly always be limited as the single port shares the port by itself hehe

    • @martinharris5017
      @martinharris5017 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I hav e found improved power and torque throughout the range, but it all depends on how far you go with opening up the ports and what else you do. I run a mild cam (W100) and a single 1 3/4 SU carb and it makes for a good tractable street engine.

      Have u seen the video I made of that? It’s a nonsense mod we did in 2008 due to lack of parts it wasn’t as good as expected
      Now with the availability of skunk2 it’s more expensive to redo a wrong mod
