These cars get a bad reputation but if maintenance is done on time and you take care of them they are awesome cars.

Nice change of pace with the hands on technical video CP. The brake clean cannon made quick work of the muck. I always have my magnet within easy reach. It gets a lot of use when I do engine work.

Neat informative video on the Subaru CP, it was interesting for me to give me some sort of an idea on how certain repairs are done. It's coincidental that you posted a video that's repair related because my old man's Dodge Ram 2012 that has a V8 5.4L Hemi that has roughly 120-130k miles. It recently had to go to a local shop to get the intake manifold replaced since it was making very subtle soft clicking sounds when accelerating while he was driving the truck normally. Right after he got the truck back fixed after a week or two later, he drove the truck back home with no issues. However this wasn't the end of it, once my old man drove the truck for the second time in the same day that he got his truck back, the instrument cluster started to display the check engine light and the engine felt like it was severely misfiring shortly after he pulled out into traffic getting up to speed. We were luckily able to nurse the truck back home right after that happened. Once we took the truck back in for the second time, from what I can understand what my old man told me that the techs he knew from the shop told him, was the fact that either the cams on the truck were partly damaged or something broke with the cam heads. I asked someone about this problem online since I wasn't entirely sure what went wrong with the truck and I was seeking if this was a common issue on my old man's truck, it turns out that it's common for my dad's truck that has the hemi engine to have that cam issue. So now, my old man is deciding whether or not to sell the truck at this point.
It was disappointing to get the bad news about the truck, but it is what it is at that point. So that's been what my old man and I been up to.

Ya, this is a tough place to be, especially when it's a gamble, so I can definitely understand your dad's dilemma. Engines are definitely not cheap, but do give the junkyards a good look over. You may just get lucky!!

I would have tried that if it were my truck, unfortunately, my old man just recently decided to sell the truck and he did what needed to be done even though I didn't want him to sell it since he had that paid off in payments and he owned that truck for almost 11 years since it was brand new. I think he's going to hold off of potentially buying another car replacing the truck until we hit the fall season, because my folks seem to think that they run into greater odds of finding more great deals than any other season of the year.
But anyhow, I enjoyed watching this video. I think it's informative and entertaining to me as a young buck learning a good generality of these specific kinds of repairs that aren't your typical oil changes or changing tires so to speak. I hope you continue making content like this mixed in with your humor and personality. To me, you do really have a great sense of humor regardless of what other people tell you otherwise online. Those are the people who don't understand to take jokes less seriously by enjoying a good laugh out of it within reason considering life is too short to waste otherwise good moments that you would've been happy.
I'll see you in the next video, CP. Take care.

Our '03 Forester has just over 200,000 miles. Oil was leaking from the head gaskets and dripping on the exhaust manifolds. Thought I had repaired the oil consumption issue. Nope! Still using oil more than I like! Engine is coming out again for rings and rod bearings. Probably will replace the valve seals too. Good engines. Too bad they used low tension rings!!

Hardest thing is the spark plugs. But snap-on has a long angle 1/4in ratchet, that you can retro fit to 3/8in drive. It don’t seam like much, BUT DAMN IS IT A DIFFERENCE!! (Something the Scoob Doob won’t tell ya)

And those LN47ACF's come in handy for almost anything. S-O might be expensive on most things, but those pliers are a steal for the diversity and quality you get.
