    Nice. So many people are not interested in fixing something because they believe the hype that their 'time' is worth so much more.... A little research, maybe an hour and half ordering and installing, and cleaning, and you've got a nice 800 dollar grill. Good job.

      Totally agree. We seem to be a throwaway society, and that just takes the fun out of ownership. I enjoy the fixup/maintenance.

    Great job describing this process. Also kudos for NOT trying to do what other people describe by drilling their own. Which seems dumb considering you actually need a SMALLER opening...not a larger one...LOL

    Great video. I bought a spirit 315 for $20, yes $20. It still looks so good after I cleaned it. It was for LP, I removed the gas pipe and added a. New pipe with a valve for propane. I removed the orifices and replaced it with 0.9mm. So my flame is small but when I adjust the knobs the flame stays the same size unless I turn then past the ignite stage to close it then I can make the flame smaller. Is my orifices to small?

    • @Challenged1
      @Challenged1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the grill was already set up from the factory for LP, I wouldn't see it necessary to replace the orifices. Great find by the way!!!

    Hi Garrett.
    Can I assume that the numbers that are shown on your Orifice packets (ie #61, #63 and # 67) are the gauge of the holes. I have the same BBQ but neet to drill out some blank orifices Cheers

      We use metric in Australia but theres not a hugh difference between the gauges and the avaialble metric sizes
      Oh well heres hoping near enough is good enough. Its a pretty small difference. I am rounding down in all cases so it should be fine.
      I doubt the tolerances in the regulator pressure accuracy is within 10% so 0.04mm undersized orifice should be ok. I can start smaller and enlarge based on evidence
      cheers

    What size of orifices you used to switch from NG to propane?

    • @Challenged1
      @Challenged1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      One's specific to my grill. They will vary from grill to grill and manufacturer to manufacturer. I installed what was supplied to me and don't remember the specifics. If I remember right, there is a shot of the orifices sitting on top of the bags in the video. I believe the bags say the size of them.

      I just converted mine from propane to NG and it's working great. The only thing that I did was remove the propane regulator and installed NG orifices. Yes, Weber does list the manifold assemblies as different parts, NG vs Propane. I have compared the valves and they appear to be identical. The only difference that I see are the orifices which Weber does not sell separately so it would make sense that they are sold as different parts.
