    Congrats. A super find

    You definitely scored. You can adjust the air flow on the burners by turning the intakes located between the orifices and the burners. This will make the flames hotter. Try to get them almost all blue. There are videos on how to do it. Congrats.

      Thanks, I actually started playing around with those air intakes and it helped alot. Unfortunately that wasn't my only problem - new video coming out tomorrow.

    I have a Weber summit gold grill with a rotisserie and a smoker on it also. It is natural gas and I want to convert it to propane. I couldn’t tell what size the jets were you got for the summit grill you found. I think it takes 8 M or 9 M. Just not sure.
    Thank you.

    What size of Wrench did you use to change the brass jets? Thank you

    You'll be surprised to know, that Weber has a 12 year warranty o these. You can register your grill and they will send you a brand new cookbox for free. Just shoot photos of the problem areas and file a warranty claim. Also, you can replace the grill manifold with a LP manifold to convert your grill. I bought my Summit in 2014 and they sent me all new burners for free this month. You'll find your serial number on the left side of the inside lower cabinet. The LP manifold is about $200 and it also replaces all the igniters as part of the assembly - even new knobs come with it. The lights don't light up with the buttons. You turn them on with the buttons but don't light until you lift the cover. Every part is available at many online parts houses.

      Thanks, I'm going to give weber warranty a shot, especially for the cookbox, thanks!

    does anything need to be changed for side burner when going from natural gas to
    propane?

    • @mmark300
      @mmark300  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, same for all burners. Please check out my part 2 video on the issues that I found after this part 1 video

    I also just got one of these from a family member and needed this video! Can you link the LP connection parts that you used instead of the natural gas regulator as well?

    • @mmark300
      @mmark300  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, I'm hesitant to link to them as I'm not 100% sure what they are at this point. If you took this video into the hardware store and show them the clip they will be able to find the parts, no problem. I had everything I needed into the store to make sure they fit.

    Are you getting proper adjustments still? I've been looking into converting my Summit and everything I've read suggests that the only way to do it and retain gas adjustment range is to replace the entire manifold. The valve internals are apparently specific to NG/LP.

    • @mmark300
      @mmark300  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have since read the same. However, my adjustments seem fine now, especially after I adjusted the airflow intake on the burners (stay tuned for next video). Even without that adjustment I think it would still be fine. I have used the grill a number of times now and it works way better than my Kenmore ever did! I guess it might work even better with an entire new manifold but I would need to see how much better to determine if it was worth the added $$.

      @@mmark300 how long until the video is out? I'm very interested to see how you've come along with it.
      Its about $300 for the manifold (on my Summit, which has the smoker box, sear burner and the rear broil burner) and then another $150 for the side burner assembly. Unfortunately the side only comes as a full assembly.
      Would be great to just get the $80 kit and save some money but on a $3,500 grill I'd be okay to spend the extra if it meant it functioned significantly better.

      @@MBLphotography FYI - Looks like I'm having an issue with temp range - I may have to go with a whole new manifold and valves... Low will get to about 580 after 15-20 mins! I need to look into this some more...

    What’s that little nifty ratchet you used to remove the old and install the new jet burners?

    • @mmark300
      @mmark300  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A small quarter inch ratchet with a 9/32 or 7mm soccket.

    The low and high controls will not work with the natural gas orifices. Once the newer, smaller holed orifices are installed, the amount of propane can be regulated.

      I got them from here on Ebay - www.ebay.com/itm/274774475874 (WEBER GENESIS SUMMIT SPIRIT NG NATURAL GAS or LPG PROPANE GRILL ORIFICES)
