You can't - This metric doesn't exist on Meta! (Yet) So you're shooting in the dark here. I typically will calculate a blended cost per follow. So total new followers on IG / divided by total ad spend. (Which may be skewed if a reel does well).
thanks for reply! ye its weird man because when i try boost my reel on onstagram native it says my account is not able to run ads too.. strange, hope i get access to the option soon@@JustinLalonde
@@xstaticxem Just like "Meta Shop", who's been out for 18 months and is still not rolled out to everyone. Some features take years to come to other markets. The US always is first (or almost) to get these. (I'm Canadian, so trust me, I feel you, we don't always have all features lol)
I did exactly what you did, but I only get a ton of engagement, but only a very low percentage of followers. How long does it take until this switches? My profile is clean and looks good, also the posts are nice. Or does it make sense to run a prospecting engagement campaign and retarget the engagers with the profil-visit campaign? Please help!
Tracking the amount of follows you get is very hard. This shouldn't be long, you'd typically see an instant uptick in followers, although, yes, it's not astronomically high as a follower %. Expect about 1-10% of visits to turn into followers. You can do retargeting on all front end ad engagements to profile visits yeah! CVR is usually better there.
Strangely, the boost ad unit somehow brings in a cost per follower that is 2-3x cheaper despite supposedly being the same thing. It's weird but something happens...
Are you saying boosting a post, with an objective of Instagram Profile Visits, brings you a cheaper cost per follow than making an ad from the ads manager? If so, I'll have to put that to the test! Second time I've heard this lately.
@@JustinLalonde if you use the in-app "Boost" option (or do it Meta Business Suite-the better way because you can add in custom audiences), you're probably going to see a large difference in the cost per follow. I don't know why this is but it is. Something odd happens when using ad manager but I've replicated this now across multiple accounts. For example, at USD 10 a day, I have one account that will get 4-5 follows per day using what you've outlined here. With boost an manually seeing which has the best CPA (instead of CBO), that account grows at 8-9 with the same ads? The only downside to this is that using the Boost method requires an organic post to be made. Not sure any of this made sense but happy to explain more if needed. Would love to see what your test results are.
I ran a sponsored ad with engagement centric approach main target was to get views and follows. The video had a cta and offer for anyone who follows to get a cashback. Can you suggest what might work in markets where send directly to Instagram option isnt available.
For some reason the option for Instagram Profile user Conversion does not show on my meta ads manager, I'm from India. Is this feature country specific?
I've got many friends, and clients, still running this type of campaign and it works great. You'll get highly qualified followers for $5-10 in major countries (US, CA, UK) that can then be DM'd and converted on an offer.
Hey! Where can I see how much cost/follower I have? I can see cost per profile visit, but I seem to have no data about how many actually follow.

I set up a campaign targeting USA but would like to change it to worldwide. Should I edit the campaign or start a new one?
You can edit the campaign!

@@JustinLalonde Instagram Boosted posts are more expensive from my findings. How do you assess quality of visit how many converts
I've also found boosting posts seems to bring more followers at a cheaper rate than creating ads :)
I have found the same thing. Boosting strangely gets me a lot more followers at a faster rate

I'd move away from ads and do Instagram Shoutouts or Giveaways.
Shoutouts are more costly than giveaways but give better quality followers.

It's not fully released to all countries and ad accounts yet!
Do i need to create lookalike audience for my new Instagram business
Always go broad - Never use LLA or Interests.

That was very useful. Thanks a lot!
Glad it was helpful!
Ads performance def down from over 1-2 months ago grr
Normal, we’re right before the big Q4 boom.
But did you actually get followers from this?
For sure! Doing this exact strategy for a few infoproduct clients now.
This campaign doesn't work. I tried it. Spend your money elsewhere.
