*Why not have some respect and at least blur the faces of the vulnerable people that you're filming for content? Especially when they're heavily intoxicated with Heroin or describing where they've been stabbed and by who! Even if they gave you consent (which they can't when intoxicated) maybe spare a thought for their families. Cornwall isn't very big and the various homeless communities usually know one another. Cornwall may well be a poor county but the housing crisis is down to the council and their not building affordable homes but also because of people buying up properties as second homes which literally destroys villages. Portscatho (where my family come from) is packed with visitors in expensive cars in the summer months but, come winter, the place is deserted and not even the street lights get switched on. The post office and butchers shop have gone, as has the small garage that used to be there. Over the past few years there are numerous 'new build' housing estates going up. Bland houses made from timber frames and plaster board that look like they'll struggle to last 10 years let alone 100! Thousands of ugly houses that people can't afford and still just the one hospital. The gap between the wealthy and the poor. of Cornwall is bigger than ever but what it doesn't need is yet more TH-camrs rocking up with cameras to film our most vulnerable for a few sandwiches and tins of pop!*
Wednesday at 11am is a food outreach programme where people come to get free food, chat and have a free cuppa at Redruth Baptist church! Lots of characters there! I’d love you to stop by and have a chat! Great videos!
Shame you didn't come and talk to residents and shop keepers.... You spoke to the problems in town. There the ones who use the streets as toilets.. Plus all towns are suffering from cost of living crisis.
To be fair he does paint a pretty accurate picture of what Trelowarren Street is actually like these days. I know plenty of people who avoid the Town centre even in the daytime because its got so rough. My mates wife works at Aldi and in the last couple of years he has taken to picking her up after her shift because she doesn't like to walk home alone through the town anymore after she got harassed by some drunks in the town late one afternoon. I lived in the town for 30 years before moving to Devon, I still have family and friends there so I visit regularly and I have never seen it as bad as it is now. Its true that all towns are suffering but Camborne is one of the worst hit ones I have seen, even Redruth is in a better state these days ( and that is saying something ). In fact the only place worse in Cornwall is St Austell. I've spent many a night out in Camborne and while fights often broke out it was mostly OK as long as you didn't go looking for trouble and knew to avoid the White Heart, these days I wouldn't feel safe doing that anymore. The whole feel of the place has changed and not for the better. All I can say is I hope things improve for all those shop keepers and residents who are trying to get by and live their lives in the midst of such a deprived Town.
Word to the wise, when locals ask you what you're doing don't say "I spent all day to come to this shithole." This is the worst youtube channel ive seen.

Interesting that you chose only to speak to people who reinforced your narrative. There are plenty of people in Camborne doing great stuff. Some excellent independent shops and whilst the place is deprived, it most definitely is NOT a shìthole. You've missed an opportunity to talk about the reasons certain areas are deprived. And in response to your comment about the locals not wanting to talk to you, I passed you in the street and we made eye contact, but you didn't speak to me. I'm pretty sure plenty of other locals would as well, but you chose to sit topless outside Soul Bar. Says more about you than it does about Camborne. @BobaPhettamine There is a big divide between rich and poor in cornwall. Where there are many well off individuals there are also people living in extreme poverty. Deprivation in this area of cornwall is pretty well documented, and poverty rates are rising.
