I feel so bad for the Uber driver, he was so apologetic. As a Chinese myself, even I mix up people sometimes it’s not that deep 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m glad no one is on her side on this because this is just embarrassing 🫠

In fact most Vietnamese people would relate to the uber driver more so than this fellow Vietnamese solely because one; guess what? And why don't most see this as a big deal? Well...look, I've been living in the Philippines my whole life. I can totally see why people think Asians, at least Southeast Asians, look the same. She was sitting on a bench, so I came back to apologize to her and it ended with her saying “but why would you cross the street if it wasn’t bc of my race?” I didn’t say anything, so it looked like I proved her point. I genuinely am just awkward af with people and try to avoid it.😭 I also just need to decompress sometimes after work and I just can’t even take looking at people. These kids just came up to me and started asking me and trying to guess where I was from. I had very light blonde hair, pale skin and blue eyes, so they said everything from german to norvegian. I doubt you're all that traumatized when your first reflex is to put a camera in your face. To me that just shows you aren't all that hurt and just thinking about the internet points you'll score crucifying this poor guy on TikTok. Especially adding the cynical captions later on when you hear the guy apologizing over and over on the background, is just despicable.
Here's how that interaction would go between two adults.
    - Hey you probably shouldn't say Asians look the same.
    - Oh I am sorry, I didn't mean to offend.
    - That's okay I know you meant no harm.
I bet if she put down her phone for two seconds and talked a bit with that driver instead of purposely looking for reasons to be indignified, she'd find out it's probably a pretty nice, average guy. But that's what happens when people value pedestals and likes more than genuine human interaction.

One of the easiest targets for the toxic politically correct mindset. As someone with social awkwardness myself, I find it hard to find the best choice of words to say under pressure that I sometimes end up accidentally saying things I should've kept to myself (like certain biases and such), coming off as rude or insensitive in the process. and boy this situation makes me even more afraid to talk to people nowadays.
