I have a friend whose brother-in-law divorced his wife on the "very acceptable" reason his 50 y old friends were dating 20 somethings and his wife was old/ugly. He was not with anyone at the time, but wanted his freedom to pursue younglings.
Both his sons, then 14 and 9, heard him say why he decided to leave them.
Short story. The first 20 something he dated stole $ from him.. The second left him when he discovered a cancer.
His ex-wife was the one to care for him up to his passing (I think 3 or 4 months). The sons didn't want her to do so. He asked for the boys, but both didn't want to see him again over what he said to their mother.
So, I can't imagine what one can think in a much worse situation then this.

I’m gonna assume they knew he was murdered from the start. The police will hold their cards close for as long as they need to in order to keep the people they suspect from realizing they’re being surveilled.
What I’m assuming took so long was this: they did an autopsy, found the fentanyl, and realized he was poisoned. They will immediately assume the wife (after maybe ruling out OD or unaliving himself), and start investigation- without her knowledge.
Then they’ll try to figure out how, and if anyone around her knows she had the drug in question. Then they need to prove she bought it. THEN, even after that, they’ll try to get her to confess- as this makes things easier. But they don’t want her to know they’re on to her still.
They’ll bug her phone and friends and hope she’ll admit to it at some point, but if it doesn’t happen, they have to go a different route and that either involves finding something else she did wrong to charge her with something that isn’t murder to keep her where they need her, or if they’re lucky, a judge will give them a warrant.
Finally, after all of this- the police went in, hopefully located enough evidence, and then charged her with the crime and went to court.

@@jaynguyen1573 yes its not like the movies. A lot of investigations take time, especially when it's not as straight forward like a shooting vs. Poisoning. Waiting for autopsies, bloodwork, etc. can take months and months. It's not like only one person dies a day in the US, where they can focus on that one solely and get it solved right away. This isn't the first case where a murderer has gone on free for months to years on end. So the creator saying this is going down in history is just ridiculous. She's also not the first to profit from a death she caused. Her story has been heard before and him acting like the police did so horrible and she's something special is just hilarious.

Then they have to find the suspects, connect the dots and set up the case for prosecution. The fact that she was charged after just a year shows how compelling the evidence must’ve been. He probably didn't want to leave due to their son, and maybe even family pressure. People might shame or make fun of him for leaving his wife over absurd suspicions of her wanting to kill him, and would blame him for causing the child to witness a divorce. And yeah, it does such when the child has to witness a divorce, so he might've thought that he could somehow dodge the attempts to his life without having to leave the 'family image'.
It's unfortunately a common thing with spouses. I believe Dr. Seuss' wife had to keep the fact that Dr. Seuss was horrible to her a secret just so it won't ruin people's perception of him and his books, and to uphold a squeaky clean picture of their family. She only finally admitted this right before her self-unaliving.

Fentanyl has a half life super fast so unless they did the blood test right away you won’t find out. It’s 3-7 hours. I just double checked.
The half-life of fentanyl is anywhere from three to seven hours. A drug’s half-life is how long it takes for the amount of the active substance to reduce by half in your body. The half-life of fentanyl and other drugs varies depending on your body’s processes and elimination. The half-life of fentanyl is important because when it’s shorter, like with fentanyl, it means more withdrawal issues can occur.

    • @Dziaji
      @Dziaji ปีที่แล้ว +27

You are mossing an important point. Drugs get metabolized in liver and kidneys. When you die, your blood stops delivering the drugs to those organs, so in an autopsy, you basically have the same level of drugs or alcohol in your blood as you did the moment you die.

If you ever, for any reason, use an epipen, you cannot just leave it at that. If an epipen is administered, you still need to go to the hospital, regardless of previous symptoms, or even no symptoms. Toxicology can take months, warrants for deleted texts could take awhile plus these detectives probably had to be pretty sure she was responsible before even asking the judge for a warrant. If you're wrong and accusing an innocent widow of murdering her husband, it's going to be a big stain on your career. If he was shot or stabbed to death, that's one thing but first responders in the scene probably looked at the scene and assumed the guy suffered a heart attack, then 3 months later toxicology comes back and the actual investigation starts .

You are "accused" until you are convicted. The police had to investigate and find out where the fentanyl came from and they have to figure out if he was an addict which always takes time. You must watch alot of TV and think things happen in any hour with commercials. Do some research prior to commenting. Plus after someone is convicted of murder they will always have bad reviews. Slow down brother

They really should put a warning label on marriage, like they do with cancer-sticks.
Good job, man. Keep up the awesome work.

It's all about her wanting a 2 million dollars mansion, but her husband didn't. She killed him to get some insurance money to buy the mansion. It's all for a mansion! 🤦‍♂️

The darkest thing about all this is that she was 100% aware of what she was doing and brought children into it!!! I feel so sorry for those children who now have to grow up without a father and with a heartless mother who will hopefully be behind bars indefinitely. Side note. I’m pretty sure the cops were not incompetent. From what I’ve heard the investigators suspected she was the killer for a while but just needed to wait until they had enough evidence to bring her to justice.

Reminds me of another case where the mom poison her husband putting anti-freeze on his coca cola. and she also killed her son the same way and wanted to kill her daughter too, but her daughter I think survived! A real tragedy.

She was given everything. A good man and provider who was very wealthy. People like this infuriate me. Plenty of great people out there doing the grind just to live, and this women lived in privilege and still wasn't satisfied, had to kill him. Divorce? Nah... Try to make the relationship work? Nah... She kills him for a payday so she can go be a thotpocket.

the worst part is that nobody belived that his wife a woman would EVER attempt to kill him, but we can all agree it would be a different story if it was reversed. Please just listen to men sometimes many deaths or traumatizing moments would be avoided if we helped them more or communicated with them better..
