      Shawn Ballard I will have more uploads after this week. I have been very busy lately and haven’t had time to work on the car, stay tuned!

    I thought GX470 uses Denso spark plugs and that's what I got from the the Lexus dealership. There are a lot of counterfeit ignition coils/spark plugs on eBay and Amazon. What were the ignition coils did you get that didn't work out for you?

    • @nkautos
      @nkautos  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The OEM spark plugs are Denso. I put some E3’s spark plugs to try them out and haven’t had any problems. I will however be switching back to Denso plugs when I do my next oil change. The price is the same and haven’t seen any differences. I don’t remember which exact coils I got but I bought them off eBay so I wouldn’t doubt that something was wrong internally

    How’s your MPG currently
    And how much did get before the changes?
    Any recommendations to increasing MPG’s ? From basic to extreme?

    • @nkautos

      I’m around 17 mpg average. I have noticed it increased a little on highway speeds but I do have some all terrain tires on which decrease the mileage a bit too. There aren’t too many ways of increasing the mpg since it’s a heavy truck and it’s being pushed by a v8. If you are worried about mpg I would recommend keeping everything stock, because heavy upgrades lower the overall range

    I been watching a lot of videos regarding e3 spark plugs. A lot of bad reviews and cases of misfires. How are they turning out for you? Is your engine running smooth? I ordered them and reluctant to install them.

      Yammii Habibi So far I’ve had no problems! I’ve seen better gas mileage and an overall smoother idle.

      NK Autos thank you for your feedback. I was gravely concerned. A few people named negative remarks about the E3 spark plugs and mentioned how they misfire or they aren’t reliable. So I called the company and mentioned this concern to them. So E3 spark plugs are good on stock engines. Those people who complain about the spark plugs had modified their engine components which causes the spark plugs to accelerate at higher temperatures that causes a misfire. Also, in my opinion, I think if you go 100 + mph on a long hill up a mountain, and you have a packed car with people and cargo and your towing a boat as well, your asking for trouble. Even the associate helping me mention, he gets calls from individuals who street race. It really depends on how you maintain your vehicle and how you drive it and how you handle it. This gives me closure. Thank you!

      Yammii Habibi Glad I could help out! The guys at E3 are very helpful, they definitely have a great customer support team as well. I agree with your comment, it definitely depends on the maintenance and the circumstances the car faces. I’ll keep everybody updated, but so far I’ve gone on a 5k road trip and have climbed some pretty big mountains with constant load and haven’t faced any problems!

      @@nkautos install was a breeze between that and the glasspack muffler conversion I'm sure to rack up some tickets tho 😅

      Shawn Ballard did you get rid of the resonator aswell? Or just change out the muffler?

      @@nkautos you know my buddy said it was too quiet still so I went back to have this resonated exhaust tip put on ended up not doing it tho low key scared it would be too lound.

      Shawn Ballard These engine’s definitely can get pretty loud. Especially with both removed. I have a primary muffler and resonator delete. Car sounds amazing, only think that I would change are the headers down the road!

    What made you change the coil? Was something wrong with them?

    • @nkautos
      @nkautos  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I wanted to change them out for some “increased performance” ones but ended up returning them due to the coils not firing and my car not wanting to start. OEM is the best!

    What kind of ignition coils are those? Brand?

    • @nkautos
      @nkautos  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yammii Habibi The ignition coils I used for the video where taken off and returned right after. They where off of eBay and where supposed to be good, turns out 6 out of 8 where faulty. OEM coils are the best!

      NK Autos ok, I bought the TRQ premium high performance coil kit. It ran me $180 bucks. Let’s see how they work out along with the E3 spark plugs. Wish me luck! 👌🏼

      Good video I will use OEM ignition coils (Denso) because I brought some off Amazon and in 2 years 5 have gone out already and was misfiring and caused my catalytic converter to go out, all two of them! I looked up that a misfired can cause the cat to malfunction. @@nkautos

    Good work, sir! I just did mine too this week: th-cam.com/video/FLpE8L5Yx5A/w-d-xo.html, but I used the stock NGK. How many miles did you put on your NGKs? I wonder if you notice the difference with your high performance plugs and coils right away? How many miles on your GX now? 130k something? I couldn't make it out on the video. Subscribed!

      Maxim’s DIY Garage Thank you for the support! I put about 10k on the NGK Premium spark plugs. I have noticed an increase in performance from the E3 spark plugs for sure. On the other hand with the coils, I ended up returning them because of poor build quality. I have 137k and counting on the odometer.
