    Great video! Just did my 2004 GX470. Total time was 1.5hrs. highly recommend having a 4, 6 and 8 inch socket extension and a knuckle attachment. Makes life easier! Cheers!!

      The 4 inch is a must for the back firewall 🔌.

    I’m not religious but with 217k on my GX, I still crossed my heart and prayed a lil at 04:23 when he mentioned valve cover gaskets. It’s January and I don’t wanna. ..God, please let em be dry when I go out and do my plugs.

    Thank you, I needed this guide and it makes me confident that I can replace my plugs. You seem like a guy who likes to think and do correctly and who always wants to improve. Therefore, my only criticism is your overwhelming percentage of sentences starting with, “So.” First, it is repetitive and unnecessary. Next, it is incorrect grammatically and stylistically. Last, it makes the speaker seem not choosy about how he or she allows annoying trends to enter into and overtake his or her thinking and speech.

    Great video. Much more to it than back in the early 1970’s. My dealer charges $442 for this and a few other things as part of a tune up.

    Great video! I also need to replace 2 coils, so I may just replace them all. It it as simple as swapping them in for the old coils? Should I worry about replacing the wires while I’m in there? 2004 Gx470 150k

    I really appreciate your videos. I recently purchased a 2007 GX470! Any chance you'll do a full video on replacing the front shocks? They involve some big challenges, and I could use the help.

      I just did this job. It is a simple job but it’s not easy per se. Depends on the level of mechanical experience you have. I did a bit of a video on my lift kit install but there are better ones out there to be honest. Search “GX470 lift install” on TH-cam and that will give you an idea of how the job goes (even if you are replacing with stock shocks)

    Great video! Thanks for the tips! My GX460 is a 2014. Do you know if the process is the same as the 470? Also, it has 115k miles on the engine. Is it time to change the coil packs as well as the plugs?

    My 04 gx470 is having a tapping knocking sound when on the gas. Do you think it’s the spark plugs. Has 164k miles on it.

    Awesome video Bryan. I got the underhood light from ur Amazon page and man I should have gotten this sooner compared to my crappy snap on hood light. That with the milwaukee headlamp man I can see everything and not strain my eyes or work blind. I'm starting to notice that that 1/4 inch stubby would come in handy for those smaller fasteners. I got the 3/8 but I dont want to break anything. I know it has that fourth mode where it stops but maybe I just love tools and I want the 1/4 inch especially for smaller fasteners. Can u tell me ur favorite milwaukee line up now that u have almost all of them. Plz

    • @HowtoAutomotive
      @HowtoAutomotive  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jason Chavez glad you like the underhood light and thank you for going through the link! My favorite Milwaukee tools are the 3/8 Mid Torque, 3/8 Stubby, 1/4 Stubby and both 3/8 1/4 ratchets

      @jasonc.4683 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HowtoAutomotive thank u Bryan 😁😁. I gotta get that 1/4 stubby now. When I do will get it from ur link. I want those mountain long ratchets from ur link as well but reviews are saying that they break and alot of them are saying they haven't broke on them. My snap on guy says he doesnt want to sell those because they break. What's ur honest opinion since u have been so honest with me though alot of comments I have sent u. THANK U Bryan

      Jason Chavez I have the wrenches and loving. But I have broken a few of them. I would buy them from a tool truck that way you can get a warranty easily. I heard snap on came out of a set similar.

    So new spark plugs can’t be gapped?

    • @HowtoAutomotive
      @HowtoAutomotive  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They should come pre-gap but if you think something they’re off they can be but you have to be extremely careful doing it though.

    • @Paiadakine
      @Paiadakine 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HowtoAutomotive thanks for the reply. I’m old enough to remember setting the gap on plugs but I was surprised that you said if the gap was wrong to send the plugs back. I thought maybe there were new kinds of plugs you could not adjust.
