    I didn’t even know this was a thing haha. Me and my guys just ordered the kit for our project GX470. We’ve already used a few of your videos. Thanks for the info dude.

      Tristan Anderson No problem, I hope everything with your build is coming along!

    I wonder if the wheels need to be rebalanced after those caps are installed.
    Nice video! Thank you! My stock TPMS batteries are failing so it’s time to upgrade and do stock TPMS delete!

      Maxim’s DIY Garage They are surprisingly heavy and might throw it off a little. I’ve noticed a little bit of wobble at 70mph for a while now even before the caps, so I will have a buddy balance the wheels for me just to be safe. After all I do have some beefy all terrain tires on which doesn’t help with the wobble at highway speeds.

    Thanks for the helpful video! I've been debating whether to fix the oem TPMS or get aftermarket sensors like you did. Since you're using the aftermarket TPMS, how do you get the flashing TPMS light on the dash to turn off? Also will these sensors work with the OEM sensors still in the wheel or do I have to remove them for the aftermarket to work? TIA!

    • @nkautos
      @nkautos  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. There’s an alarm that turns on through the system, that alerts you when there is low pressure. You can setup notifications to warn you once the pressure drops, or if the temps increase too much. You should be able to install the TP caps on the OEM sensors without any problem

    • @sephystar
      @sephystar 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the quick response? Does the TPMS light on your dash flash?

    • @nkautos
      @nkautos  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sephystar Yes, once in a while it does. However, there is a way to bypass the light from turning on, but it requires some wires to be spliced. I’ll try to make a video on that in the future aswell but for the meantime I just try to ignore it

  • @sephystar

    Thanks for the video! Do you know if 2 sets of sensors will work with the PX6? It would be awesome if I can install a set onto our camper trailer if it can read both.

    • @nkautos
      @nkautos  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Unfortunately I don’t think they would be compatible with two sets of sensors but you might be able to connect the second set to another receiver and try running it in sync with another app.

    • @sephystar
      @sephystar 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      NK Autos smart! Are there different apps that work with the TPMS? Also any update on the 360 camera install? 😊

    • @nkautos
      @nkautos  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@sephystar I believe there is a way to duplicate the apk file that comes on the usb stick which would allow you to have two apps one for each set of sensors. I had to return my 360 Camera due to the faulty controller module. I got a new one not long ago and have made some improvements with the cameras but still am working on getting some better spots for the mounting locations. Definitely a time consuming install since they don’t include proper instructions

    • @sephystar
      @sephystar 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      NK Autos yea I figured it was a pretty involved install. Main reason I’m looking for your guidance haha

    • @nkautos
      @nkautos  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@sephystar I’ll try to make a video that has enough information for an easy install! Definitely wish there was some sort of PDF with some wiring instructions. The video will be pretty lengthy just so I don’t leave anything important out of it!

    I apologize if I overlooked it. My GX470 I believe has tire pressure monitoring. Can I use the OEM and have it display the same way as the ones you placed on your tire valves? Thanks in advance. Great work.

    • @nkautos
      @nkautos  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately the OEM scanners in the tires are a little different and wont connect to the unit. You can buy a set of the special ones that connect to the system and are in the wheel like the OEM ones.

    Hi - Does this Phoenix radio work with any other amp for the GX470 besides the Mark Levinson amp that comes with the SUV? My ML amp is shot and would rather buy a different amp rather than spend $400 to get the ML amp fixed. If you could suggest other amps that works with this Phoenix amp that I can use with GX470 I would appreciate it. I'm ok to change out the speakers as well but would not want to change out the entire wiring system. Thanks

    • @nkautos
      @nkautos  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It shouldn't be a problem with an aftermarket AMP. I would recommend a kicker AMP, or something with good ratings off of Critchfield's website.

    I don't have the new Phenix radio yet. I'm getting the tires first. Can i install this TPMS sensor and have it work with the car monitor until I get the new radio ?

    • @nkautos
      @nkautos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe that the kit only works with the screen and isn't compatible to pair with the cars system.

    How did you do the lights under the dash like that? Are they led?

    • @nkautos

      Yes I bought some LED strips on ebay and wired them into the accessory harness

  • @TimArland

    Did you end up mounting the receiver somewhere or just letting it sit in the console?

    • @nkautos
      @nkautos  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just left it in my glove box where the rest of the usb connectors are. It’s had no problems with connecting to the outside sensors. I think it looks better hidden since it reduces all the exposed wires

      Where do you live, Peter? I’d suggest picking up a GX that spent most of its life outside the rust belt. I’ve picked mine up locally a couple of years ago and it was just shipped from Alabama! Expect to pay premium for a rust free truck, but it’s well worth it! I’ve hunted for mine for a couple of years. Got at 09, a nice and clean specimen with detailed maintenance records and every maintenance up to date. I’m at 121k miles on my GX and loving it!

      Maxim’s DIY Garage I live in Connecticut but honestly I would fly out and drive back in a nice clean well taken care of nothing to hide example if you know of any.. I would love to find myself a hood example I am in love w the 08 gx470 and also my first mod would be that Tesla style screen from Phoenix that baby is awesome.. does the tilt and roll feature work right out of the box w that unit? Also do u still have a back up camera or maybe even better can add your own ir cameras and have that night vision for darker trails amd right turns?? Thanks fir the reply I love your gx that pearl white is my fav color that is exactly what I’m looking for I just want one under 150k w timing chains serviced and dash in one piece or at least not all cracked and torn to hell.. please let me kno if you ever want to get rid of yours I can make a very fair offer or if u kno if others or if they pop up feel free to let me kno I’ll even buy a flight out to look at the rig I want exactly this type of rig I def have my mind made up w these or maybe a sequoia what do u think of those? R they any good?

      Peter Piccolo Hello Peter! Unfortunately I am in no rush of selling my rig. I intend on keeping this GX till the end of its days.. The pitch and roll feature works you just have to calibrate it by holding down for 15 seconds. I was unaware of this previously and had a subscriber point me in the right direction. I looked around for my gx for a while and actually flew out to Texas to go pick up a clean one. I would recommend doing the same because a clean gx with no rust is definitely the best! I wish you the best of luck, definitely look for a well maintained car. I just changed the water pump and timing belt on mine 5k miles ago. Oil changes and regular maintenance will keep the car driving forever!

      @@MaximumDIYGarage that mileage is perfect right where i would love to find a nice specimen myself... and i live in ct man oh man if u ever want to sell your gx i would love to purchase it for a fair price!! def keep that in mind or if u ever find another lemme know ill give ya my cell and we can def keep in touch, i could always fly out and if the car is good and if i can give ya a birddog if u were to find another and be able to check her out and let me know if it is worth it i would fly out all day and drive back!! i would absolutely love to take a road trip right now and get out of my small house two feet away from all the noise in the world and just drive home in a beautiful 08 gx470 that hasnt been beaten on i would absolutely die of happiness i swear haha!! keep that in mind tho if u ever want to sell yours for some reason!! thanks
